What’s Cobra Kai about?
Johnny Lawrence (played by William Zabka): Johnny was the main antagonist in the 1984 film "The Karate Kid." In the series, he is depicted as a middle-aged man who is grappling with the challenges of life and is filled with nostalgia for his past glory as a skilled karate practitioner. Despite his rough exterior, Johnny harbors a desire for redemption and a fresh start. It's against this backdrop that he decides to reopen the Cobra Kai dojo, with the intention of passing on his knowledge of karate to a new generation. However, his teaching methods stand in stark contrast to those of his former instructor, John Kreese. Johnny seeks to instill a sense of discipline and empowerment in his students, challenging traditional notions of right and wrong in the martial arts world.
