Ford Capri production Cologne

the ford production line in Cologne, Showing the different production methods between 1953 and 1971 .
the film starts with V4 engines being machined, (fully automated) then switches to a comparison between 1953 and 1970 , lots of manpower in 53 less so in 70, no robots but a lot of automation even then.
the original film has a German commentary.....

Now you have On that one Capri 1953? Remember the 1962 and 1969 my wife had one of the1970's 1600 cc, then few years later I had a 2ltr with out power steering, Then my wife had a Volvo 240 with power steering, if it had power steering think I would have still had it used to do over 100 mph only did it in short bursts on motorway before big brother is watching you arrived. Hi Bob, yes I remember the 60s Capri ,although the main part showed the Capri being made in 1971 they kept flashing back to production methods in 53,to compare the two, as the original footage had a German commentary I'm only guessing at that, I always wanted a MK1 Capri but could never afford one, cheers for now👍
