My wife and I have cruised several times during the hurricane season and have never experienced any issues. On one occasion, as we were checking in at the pier, we were told of the upgrade to a very large suite with a balcony at no additional cost. I have no idea as to why, but i wasn't going to argue.

Remember last May when the carnival sunshine got caught in a bad storm. Doesn't matter when you go. I have been 15 times in September and October. Going this year in November. Go when you want to.

You can’t predict when a hurricane will come. The cruise liner will not ever take you into a hurricane so understand IF you get caught out there to be flexible and understand you might go to a different port, or you might miss a port and spend an extra day at sea. Just have fun regardless!!😊

We have cruised during hurricane season several times and never had a problem. I do remember the captain stating he went around the hurricanes.

I cruise during all seasons. You can get storms any time. Last year we had really bad storms in December and missed ports. Flexibility is key. As a frequent cruiser from the East Coast to Bermuda, I plan on Bermuda but just in case throw in a few things that will work in Nova Scotia- I have seen it happen.

100? Wouldn’t it be less expensive to buy your own ship at some point? 😂

@@RaymondMullen-t9j I definitely don’t make that kind of money. I’m just an honest humble drug dealer… I tried to stop but CVS said they’d fire me. I can only afford to cruise once or twice a year.

We always sail in February and September. We have had numerous hurricanes throughout the years that have come. We have only had one impact our cruise, and that was Dorian, it hit Charleston in 2019. They sent an all call via text message for everyone to come and board asap, regardless of selected time. As everyone was onboard we departed early and went up and around the hurricane. We had slightly choppy seas (we are lucky we don't get seasick) and did have to miss Half Moon Cay since the tender boats wouldn't have been safe due to water conditions. Had an extra sea day. We have been sailing September since 2014. You just have to be aware that changes might happen, also...we do not fly into port, we drive, so airline issues are not something we have to consider. The car had some foliage debris scattered on it, and the hotel we did our snooze & cruise package had some damage due to wind and water but that was it. I say if you want a great deal, sail during hurricane season!!

I can say one thing about sailing through Hurricane Sandy, you don't generally need seasick meds because you can't even stand!! Usually the subtle changes you feel cause you the most trouble!

My husband's birthday is Sept. so we book cruises during that time and only twice we had to miss a port.

I haven't had the pleasure of doing that yet. However, if I'm going just to enjoy life and get away from the everyday things then yes I would cruise during that time of year. If I want to go see certain places then I won't book at those times.

THe ship steers around all the weather, the rougher the water (Sea State) the more gas they have to spend, so if they go around, that takes more gas but actually less more times than just cutting through the weather
