So very true Mr Traveler, the captain make changes for safety and comfort. I recall a few yrs ago I was on the Carnival Splendor headed back to NYC. We were due to pass Cape Hatteras. As we approached the swells were enormous, so we headed inshore and past within sight of the lights of the coast. Folks on the ship were nervously grabbing the bags, but for some reason I was cool as a cucumber. I’ve been cruise crazy ever since.

We’ve experienced itinerary changes due to hurricanes. Disappointing but still a great cruise. We find the large ocean wells fascinating and never felt unsafe. ❤ 🌊🚢🍹🌅🏝️☀️
😂😂😂 that intro tho...I hate cruising in September my bday month seems like its worse then,we were on one a few years ago storm woke me up at 3am ship was rocking and tossing to and fro,the hubby slept thru it all,I got on my knees and started praying and thinking about my kids and asking TMH GOD to please let me make it back home to my kids😭🤦🏽♀🙏🏽 it was sooo scary and water was splashing up to our upper deck windows.I asked hubby did he hear it he said no didnt hear anything🙄😠 lol
Sometimes the rough stuff can’t be avoided but remember boats are made to float.

We jumped on ship for last Hurricane in Florida . We felt safer on the Independence of the Seas than our home . The ships avoid the storms so we felt safe. One points was windy ship has some motion but overall was still fun being at sea.
