Get a smooth tire for that trainer bike! You'll be so much more comfortable purely off the sound.
The cards not reaching the case thing, I bet that is an older case that they didn't install risers into the backplate under the motherboard.
thats also a possibility
This is what I was thinking.
There are also different length risers, so hes probably using the shorter ones when he the needs the longer ones
The lack of basic English is hurting my brain 🤯
you just need some toilet RGB dude it will distract you from that problem
Gets random crashes: fails to say it is only while playing racing games.
Some older games can't deal with multi cores/threads so dedicating one core for them can solve this problem (like Sim-city 4).

I'm a sucker for gpu's made between 2009-2016 and seeing that old radeon in the background makes me happy. What is it?
I have random issues... ok admittedly it's more like subscriptions... but I'm not asking on FaceBook *smug smirk*
Lol facebook hahahaha
The too deep one - did he forget the motherboard standoffs so the MB is sitting flush on the tray?
10:45 I have a Lian Li O11 Dynamic with a similar issue where the screws for the pcie slots dont line up with the gpu. I had to push on the back panel to get it to fit. Technically the gpu bracket piece is twisted slightly now to line up but it seems to be a common thing with the case
Hear me out... To protect from your kids, you could put the pc in a big box with a lock.
Could call it a... Case?
one slight problem with that idea what about air flow and cooling it would overheat in that box just saying🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
unless you pipe in a minisplit to cool it down
14:50 I have amd cpu and I never experienced the cpu sticking to the cooler. You're supposed to twist the cooler after unscrewing
I miss the days when LMGTFY finished with "there, was that so hard?"
Haven't even found a good alternative to that service...
@@joeykeilholz925 it still exists, it's just nowhere near as sarcastic as it once was.
Thanks man, this is alright man, thanks for making and sharing 👍
You should ask @Dawid Does Tech Stuff about pulling the CPU out with the cooler..... Then dropping it..... LOL
TJ the, the expansion slots being too deep ad is exactly what im going through right now with my O11 Dynamic. My GPU and well any PCIE card I put in dont sit quite right, they all have to sit in the slots at a very slight angle to screw the pcie slot bracket down, haven't had any issues, but on a Lian LI case it's a small QC issue that I shouldnt have to deal with. Great video Timmy
I don't know about this. I feel like roasting people that ask for help would cause people to not join the PCMR. Everyone had an IGTFY moment when they first started out with computers. I wouldn't want people to think they are too dumb to learn about computers and buy an Apple product or console because of that.
Also about the CPU stuck to the heatsink, take a string of dental floss and wedge it between the cooler and the IHS. You can hold the cooler face down and hold it down with your wrists. Go back and forth, slicing the thermal paste while pulling towards you. Make sure you don't fling the CPU when you near the end.
Alternatively, you can use the properties of cohesion and adhesion to add alcohol into the old thermal paste. Wet one edge of the IHS with alcohol and put a paper on the other side. The liquid will start to creep through the thermal paste, loosening it. Then, use the above method or twisting the CPU off of the cooler.
This is just people being clueless and fkn lazy, this reason alone made me drop out of Facebook, cool video though 👍
I pee my pants alot anything I can do to combat this?
I love that one just epic timmy joe comedy right there dude
Love that things are starting to feel better for you! Keep it up. I'll always be here to support you. ✨
i drop my ryzen 1600 and bent atleast 15 pins.. 2 hours of work later, it works fine.
if you drop a intel cpu in the socket, you can throw the mobo in the trash.
yeah that's about it dumb people you gotta love them 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The search bar? Now there's a thing I've not seen used in a long time!
Congrats on losing some weight brother keep it up
Some of these I honestly don’t think using a Facebook group as opposed to google was bad. If you really don’t know tech yet even knowing what you want to google can be hard
I agree. I help in these communities to teach people how to learn for themselves if that makes sense. It's expected that these people are not as informed about tech, that's why they posted in the first place. If not for them, such communities would not exist.
Toilet with rgb
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well it's 2021 anything is possible now XD
Lmao
it's all fun and games till you have to clean the shit off the RGB dude lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Man, this is every PC group on Facebook. I also prefer PGA over LGA. Hell, Dawid had a video today where that same think happened to him and man.... it not only stuck, it fell off and got TIM everywhere.
TJ, to add to that GPU issue on loading drivers, that can also be a sign of a fake GPU.
that was my thought as he said it works fine until you download nVIDIA Drivers
I'll take bent pins on a cpu any day over bent pins on a mobo.
Bike in house is a good idea, I have an indoor bike that I move in front of my pc for an hour a day or so that way I can bike and game at the same time. If you can make it fun you are more likely to do it on a daily basis so good for you Tim.
I have an Exercise bike too, watching some thing while riding is a good distraction,
I also found if you put a Fan behind you it makes it easier as 'you are riding with the wind' 🚲😁
Def do this again. I fell the pain of these questions all the time lol.
I pee my pants alot anything I can do to combat this?
I have pulled a CPU out of the socket before. Ya it killed it no bent pins cracked the CPU board ☠️ mx4 thermal paste wouldn't let go. I don't use that brand anymore never had it happen before. I have built and swapped out a few coolers to waterblocks and AIO's without any problems.
Had a similar problem, but mine still worked after. I popped the CPU right out of the socket. To solve this, I took a string of dental floss and wedge it between the cooler and the IHS. You can hold the cooler face down and hold it down with your wrists. Go back and forth, slicing the thermal paste while pulling towards you. Make sure you don't fling the CPU when you near the end. If you ever have this problem again, I hope this information is useful!

R9 5950x and a passively-cooled GT1010 would actually work great for a purely pro audio PC. Back in 2010 used to run an i7 930 overclocked to 4Ghz with 12GB triple channel RAM.. with a passive 1GB Sapphire HD 4650.
Although tbh you might as well get a better GPU with a passive cooling option like the GTX 1030. There is supposedly a "KalmX" passive 1050ti and even a 1650ti out there somewhere from Palit but good luck finding one!
..plus I guess my 3070 isn't even running it's fans right now so.. yeah plenty of "silent" options anyway if you're just running audio programs.
Conformal Coating: Humi-Seal has UV reactive Conformal Coating in a spray can and also a paint can. I'm kind of tempted to use it on some key areas for the UV glow (I haven't done it yet). We use this stuff all the time at the company I work for (we build PC boards for companies like Vitamix and what not). PCB like Audio Technica uses them on their face mask/helmets voice amp for fire fighters to keep the PCB water resistant (not water proof)(if wondering I can get a discount at Audio Tech if I go threw the right channels). If you use a light coat in the right areas it shouldn't effect the thermals to much. But the amount he used on that board was way to much and doing the whole board is unnecessary. A light coat on top would work fine to repel the water if it was actually a problem. And as you said, place the PC in a better place like on top of a piece of furniture like a book shelf or dresser.
so basically you troll and belittle people online for not having the same level of knowledge as you? Timmy, i love ya, Ive been watching you for a long time, I'm a supporter of yours, But this is some bullshit. Theres no good way of looking at this. People post stupid shit all the time. Stupid questions, ridiculous low information questions.. But if you arent gonna contribute in a positive way then why contribute at all? I'm honestly suprised at this whole video. I took you for a humble kind human being.
On the sticker question, I once had a customer who thought it was a thermal pad. It was one of the thicker foam style stickers. Customer complaining they had it boot, then it eventually stopped working.
Found the sticker on the bottom of the CPU heat sink melted around one of those bare die CPU's which Intel used to do. Pulling the heat sink off ripped the CPU die straight off with it. Quite a laugh, but customer wasn't happy. Customer had just bought parts and self assembled, so this was on them.
lol.. The metal msi dragon shield sticker that came with my motherboard i stuck to the front of my 250$ case.. I was kinda iffy about it too.. But the pc is mostly MSI and the case is ASUS so i had to rep MSI on the front too..
Never bent a motherboard pin ever... idk it has a cover on it up until the literal second you set a CPU in there. PGA on the other hand, always fun bending pins straight lol smh. You still do it according to you. (pro tip twist the cooler)
PGA is way better. Way easier to bend one back on the CPU than MB. Give heat sinks a slight twist first before pulling off to help prevent ripping the CPU out of the socket.
Yo @ Timmy Joe PC Tech
I have a Ryzen 5 1400 on B350 MSI board. The base is supposed to be 3.2 GHz but when I transcode videos, CPU usage goes to 100% but the max usage is 3.17 GHz. What's up with that? The pc is 3 years old and I've never had any problems like this. SMT and PBO are enabled and the power plan is set to performance.
What could be the issue?
I would rather have a bent pin on my $200 motherboard than my $500 CPU.
I honestly dont care so much for PGA or LGA, but I like Intels sockets more for just ONE reason.... the CPU is held down by a clamp.... If AMD would keep PGA and add a retention clamp for the CPU... happy me ;D ... btw advice for removing AMD coolers: just run the CPU under stress for 5min, then remove the cooler, when the paste is warm and fluid, your chances to rip out the CPU reduce significantly
The conformal coating is insurance in case something in your water cooling system leaks. Or at least that's my thought process on it. Its really not needed but it could save your GPU in that rare use case.
2nd thought- RGB toilets are amazing. I have installed RGB on all my toilets as of November 2020, timmy you been sleeping on that one dawg.
Dont be so hard on yourself man, youre good bro.
4th thought/ or 3rd? Zen3 5950X + GT1010 LMFAO!
So I'm curious how you feel about overclocking current gen hardware. I have an i7-10700K (liquid-cooled) with 32 gig 3200 ram and a EVGA 3070 card on the new computer. My brother keeps telling me I should overclock the system to get that extra 5-10% increase in power. I've never overclocked a computer before, but the Bios does have a few pre-configured OC options so I could use them, but I do know that overclocking your system increases the heat generated and can potentially shorted the life of internal parts. Do you think overclocking is even worth it anymore considering how fast computers are now?
Agreed. I'm an Intel user myself. But as someone who builds and repairs PCs, I HATE working on Intel boards. Those things bend if you sneeze. I've fixed bent pins on AMD chips without much drama. Hell, I bought 3 3700x cpus from a guy for $100 total, because the pins were bent, a couple hours later, I had 3 working chips! I've spent hours working on a few bent pins on an Intel board and never could get it to post, because somehow they were twisted backwards and would never quite line up.
While watching video: " some of you know how to fix your pc ", my pc randomly 10 sec later giving me a blue screen, NOW WHAT'S wrong with you =))) Didn't had any problems in months lmao, i guess last windows update is messing up with my pc now
What is this magic gewgall thing you are speaking of? I had a help desk guy that would call me every day for stuff he could have googled in 5 seconds. After about 10 times I would just type in his words and send him a LetMeGoogleThatForYou link... Nope, didn't fix the issue. One day, I asked him why. It was quicker and easier to call me. I let his calls go to voicemail for the next month.
First 4 minutes at least, paused there. This is borderline bullying. A lot of members is certain groups are not native english and by other reasons not as vocabulary as TImmy the xxx xxx. I could write it, I won't.
Where's your fresh reviews? Did you even get your hands on a 3080 yet?
Stop trashtalking people whom obviously found a channel to ask questions in, instead of getting a sh**load of commercials and promising links wich ends up after five clicks to be a pay-for service.
I like you content even though you are hopelessly after. Adding being a bully to that doesnt not help.
Don't do this again. Get your shite together.
This reminded me of an issue I had with an alt PC I use. I powered it on one day to a black screen.
I thought???? this was working fine the day before. I uninstall the GPU drivers (I had a radeon 7870 in it). Then the PC shows a screen.
I was like what the heck? I thought the GPU was dead already, but I was like no way. This was a spare I kept all these years that had less than 100 hours of use on it.
Every time I'd reinstall the drivers it would just stay on a black screen. (I was on win 7 at the time.) So I was like why not stop being lazy and upgrade to win 10. :P
Well guess what? it oddly started working and has been ever since. I still never figured out that issue.
Here's something interesting I discovered. My laptop is a ryzen 7 2700 with a Vega 56. About a couple months ago, Windows kept installing my basic display driver after I install the one from amd's website. It was bugging the living shit out of me. What I did is I went on to amd's website and I use their Auto detect and install, and it installed a metric wackton of chipset, motherboard and other drivers. After that, Windows no longer tries installing the wrong graphics driver. Might be something to consider if you're using an old motherboard, try updating your chipset drivers.
A little trick for those pesky AMD PGA CPUs so you dont just rip them out of the socket. Undo the mounting screws for the heatsink. Once the screws are not securing the heatsink, gently twist ack and for on the heatsink until the old themal past breaks free. Use IPA 95% rubbing alcahol to clean the heat spreader on the CPU, and do the same on the heatsink. Install new thermal past, and reinstall heatsink. Should be done not more than 3 years of of daily use. I have seen thermal past on refurbed systems from Newegg be like cement, and chalky. Don't let it get like that.
I had a GTX660 that started showing grphical artifacts right after the warranty was up. Screen would be a crazy mess once after a little bit and I'd reboot until it went away... never died or got any worse. Musta been lucky, I even sold it in that state (I let the kid know and sold it dirt cheap) and it's still working to this day, although he's not doing much gaming on that box, obs.
I have to disagree with the LGA vs PGA, from a "normal user" standpoint. Thing is, in most cases the CPU is several times the price of the motherboard. Even though it's a lot easier to repair a bent PGA CPU than a bent LGA socket, most people won't repair it anyway and just get a new thing. Especially nowadays that more and more people built their own PCs since it has been getting so much easier to do
I waited in line at micro center to open and the price of the 3070 Ventus 3x I was able to get was $709 before tax and $788 after tax...should have kept the Rx 480. Feels bad
PC Gaming and Building Enthusiasts page on Facebook is mainly support questions; guess they have "enthusiastic" questions...
Can you make a video on whenever adding external 6pins or 8pins to gpus would allow more power to oc?
Crazy how some people are unable to google things
🤔 that is how lazy some people are 'I will just sit here, you come & give me the answer because I am too Lazy to go find it'
A FB friend decided to build a PC one part at a time. so he bought a B450 motherboard a long time ago. and now bought the AMD processor and ram. It does not post. he says he's clumsy and it looks like he broke off some pins.
In the same day I drop my r5 1600 from 6 feet high to the floor and later a screwdriver felt from my hand into a LGA socket, no more than 1 foot up. Guess which one survived...
I have used Rufus and it is kinda OP, can download older versions of windows installers if you want that since Microsoft deletes older installers almost right away from their website. Of course you dont need to take older versions unless there are problems with current version like 2004 update or something like that had problems for many.
North Bay cool. MY sister and Broinlaw are moving up that way in spring, they bought land and are starting to build in spring.
They are 45 min south of you and he is a fully licensed electrician.
i really have to ask, how the hell do people manage to bend motherboard pins on LGA? every cpu ive owned has been an Intel LGA and it honestly boggles my mind how people fuck up that install. some of the mobos on ebay with bent pins look like they tried to shove in the cpu at a 90 degree angle to the board and then drug it across that way. I suppose if you have as bad of butterfingers as Linus you could drop the cpu and the corner would hit a couple of them but this is easily solved by not holding the cpu a foot in the air over the socket before lowering it.
I wish I had conformal coated my Daughter's mobo and GPU. Pc case with open top grate and a spilled Dr. Pepper mean a burnt up system.
Ok the pins on AMD are a better option. That being said, I agree with buddy that the amd cooler setup sucks. The two point lock that applies way to much pressure, resulting in fusing the cpu to the cooler half of the time.
Appreciate your videos as they are very informative and provide alot of information for a hardware noob like me. For the first one, i would assume the poster has no idea what that part is or is called which he does say in his post asking what is this part called. Would be pretty hard to google search for a part to buy if you have no idea what a part is even called? I can relate to the first poster since i have no experience putting together PC hardware and normally go to a shop to get any work on my PC done, I would not know that part was called a PCIE bracket if i did not watch this video and have you tell me in the video during your search. Maybe the poster is like me but for whatever reason he is trying to fix his problem hands on?
Not one of the "ask Google" guys you know some people just enjoy chatting and interacting with other people forming relationships, friends etc can't do that from google
you should start a 'computer help for seniors' FB page just to generate more of this kind of content! 🤣🤦♂️
You need to use the Linus Forum help voices more......
@ about 14:00 poor try troll, even an idiot isn´t that stupid (who now is thinking why? Get a freakin´ consol!).
LOL Intels motherboard pins are so sensitive that I once had an issue with my Desktop not booting up and when I brought it back to the store they said I voided my warranty because of a
bent pin on the motherboard even though I have never removed the CPU from the motherboard since I bought it from them 2 years ago and they were the ones that assembled the damn thing
How can he look up what it is if he doesn't know what it's called? That's what he's asking for.
When we download the windows from ms store they ask you if you want to criate an usb or iso and they make it free we only need to choose usb or iso. And by the way thats why i dont use Facebook regulary stupid posts stupid questions etc. Only for talck with some frends nothing else.
No reason its going to black because he needs to turn onboard video setting off or has card in wrong slot in business class mobo
Any rx5700 / 5700xt users experiencing issues when trying to play games on dx12?
I enjoyed the new video! It was fun to see these questions and the responses with you. Good Times TJ!
I hate it when people ask questions that they could put into google themselves. I once got an email from amazon because someone asked a question on an item I bought and I told them to use google, they asked for a link to google...
My pc can't google this question.?.?.? PLEASE HELP ME NOW!
There's no way you're 280. Get new scales or program yours to be more accurate.
Stop being political. You aren't big enough to be. Linus or Jay aren't. Stop cutting your audience in half.
For test a "dead" graphics card you should test Linux first, if the card does the same thing then the graphics card is probably dead.
This was a while ago, but if I remember right, the little book that came with the processor said to not attach the included badge to the case unless you are a licenced oem system integrator. Or something like that.
I actually have one of those toilet lights. They're motion activated and turn on so you don't have to turn the light on in the middle of the night. One of the best things my wife has ever purchased.
*PGA is 10 times beter then LGA !* Pins on a CPU is much easier to fix , then those horrible pins on a motherboard socket !
There are many times i could have used this kinda help, like the windows BSOD i was having a few at one point. not sure why or how or what
I got advice for Timmy use dark them on Facebook. (;
Anybody ever tried putting nail polish on every metal soder for if you spill water it never makes contact with the sodder pins or anything with current
you should have told the guy who asked for warranty loss that the already lost it, because he didnt put the sticker on the IHS! gnihihihihi
I installed toilet RGB.. its gangsta. My wife loves it for her late night pee's.. specially if i leave the seat up ;)
I can't afford Toilet RedBlueGreen. I have Toilet RedBrownYellow
Why plebs have stopped thinking for themselves. This is ridiculous!
@8:50, I've seen this issue before Timmy, it happens when you fail to add stand offs in the case for the mother board to sit on top of.
I like the direction you’re going with the channel. Great content! Nice work.
bahaha coats the card but doesnt coat the important stuff .. all the soldier joints are exposed etc etc .... even More of a waste of time .. smdh
ace video and funny, laughed my bullocks off.. some REAL noobs
THAT "BASIC" DISPLAY OR HARDWARE DRIVERS ARE CALLED THE "LEGACY" DRIVERS, or the drivers that windows has installed on it NATIVELY...LEGACY DRIVERS...
legacy drivers... legacy drivers... legacy drivers... just trying to groove that in the old grey matter
Btw,TJ, sometimes, spacers could be of different height.
14:18 Actually this is pure AMD's idioticness not being able to design a proper socket mounting and expect somebody to remove a cooler from the CPU once it is installed...Also this happens very easily if you use their completely out of my mind shittyous cooler with absolutelly no cooling potential because they use an extremely sticky 1c per 5kg bucket of thermal paste...
Or just heat soak the CPU like a normal technician lol heatsink pops right off and AMD CPU stays in socket
It takes like 5 mins of prime 95 and that paste will be loose
TREATING PEOPLE LIKE IDIOTS EVEN THOUGH THEY MAY BE IS SERIOUSLY BAD FOR BUSINESS....
Timmy Joe - "there are no hardware specs" scrolls past the hardware spec list in the comments.
Pause at 11:42
Spec list is - Ryzen 7 3700x, evga RTX 2080 xc ultra gaming, x570 prime MB.
Yes he was still missing some details but the most important parts are listed except for ram.
but it wasn't in the original question so people had to waste time with replies that ask to get the info, Timmy Joe was saying you need to put it in the original question
I don't google anything, I DuckDuckGo everything!
I love you and your Content ... what i do Not like is FB! Theyre commies .
streaming... my video feed looks good... but the stream sees what looks like a dying GPU? South Bridge Failure. the smell of burning ants, hair, bugs... vomit bomb?
"LAN ports do not lite up" there powered by the south bridge.
