- LEAPERKIM LYNX vs INMOTION V14
Hi thanks for visiting my channel.
Today I’m starting to gather some thoughts around these two wheels.
It feels a little like comparing apples and oranges, both are great fruit but taste a little different.
I only had limited time this week (our family car had a major engine failure and it all got hectic)
I didn’t get all the footage or thoughts done that I wanted for this video, it was a little messy.
I’ll clean up my thoughts and make another video once I get a little more experience on both wheels.
let’s consider this a very first impressions video on this topic. They are both giving me different things and I am loving each for different reasons.
let me know your thoughts in the comments.
I hope you enjoy this roll.
I had fun as always and appreciate the support.
have a safe fun week.
See you next time.

I love smoking a big Ole frosty bowl, jumping on the Lynx, and watching the ground roll under my face at 45mph/72kmh! Unreal!
I think I'm going to integrate my euc riding with my grow channel 😊
I love your videos friend! 100%
GEAR UP
@eucaus LOL. Just playing. Safety first, and always considerate of others :)
frosty 😂😂😂
Same I’m team lynx too 🧊
That dude flying by always smells like a skunk!
We need unicycles in Grand Theft Auto 6 😅
and full euc armors!
I live in the UK and it rains alot, plus like the playful look of v14, not bothered about crazy speed either, better app too, thats my thinking, but we are all different and we all live in different places with different requirements, both great wheels! Happy riding!
Thanks for taking the time to do this review. I appreciate your honest approach to it as always.
Thanks Tom :)
Thank you for answering my question my friend!! Great vid as always!!
No problem 👍 :) I had fun making the video glad I can help
The best thing g about veteran wheels is once you dial them in you don’t need the app, I haven’t changed a setting in months on mine, so even if their app is simple, you don’t t need it anyway.
agree! I am very used to checking my inmotion suspension often to keep it pumped up. I am super glad that this generation seems much easier with V14. Lynx so far seems solid for me in every way. Great wheel!
Great review in that both wheels are great but different, but still great. I recommend on any wheel to dial is the sag, 25% of travel, then place with compression and rebound. Dial the compression back if you have the spring room on Sag to 25% positive to start and rebound at 50%. Then play from there. The sag should stay constant. Anyway great commentary, bud!!
Thanks Steve. I am really slack with my suspension settings and just ride and feel then adjust without really taking notice where things are. I am going to spend time working on both wheels to learn my sweet spots. Thanks for the advice. Cheers for watching
This is what I really need. Thank you for the comparison🙂. You just answered everything that I want to know about both wheels. Keep making great videos👍
Glad it was helpful! Thanks, I feel like maybe I missed some stuff so I might do a follow up asap. Thanks for watching :) appreciate the support heaps.
Everybody keeps saying the Lynx has no ip rating. Not true. Its IP65 rated. I have the papers.
In fact, according to Freemotion, ALL Leaperkim wheels are ip65 rated.
That's dust proof, and water hose/splash proof.
Thanks for the info, yes I have had it in the rain a few times without issue. IP65 is pretty good and would handle most little showers ok.
I toiled over which wheel to get, but wound up choosing the Lynx. I originally had an order in for the V14, but changed it to the Lynx after a few problems arose with pre release V14's. I also have a Patton, and I like the larger tire on the Lynx, so i think it was the right decision for me. I received my Lynx in the mail after Christmas and have already gone 2000KM on it and need to do a tire change.
Congrats Charles. What a great combo Patton and Lynx :) - NICE!
I think which ever wheel you chose would have put a smile on your face. I really like the Lynx as it’s my first Leaperkim and feels a little special.
Absolutely great video, very helpful in all of the relevant and most important ways!
extremely informative!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences with these two wheels.
I have been riding electric unicycles for three weeks now and i have accumulated over 3,000 miles in this time period. i have been riding the inmotion v10f which has been absolutely great for learning to ride. i’m ready to move with a different wheel, something with suspension, and higher speed capability. i noticed when riding in group euc rides, i cannot keep up with the group while riding the v10f.
i have been considering the Lynx, as well as the Begode ET Max, and it has been mentioned that there may be a variation (not yet released) or model similar to the ET Max that may have a significantly larger battery, which is interesting to me because i like long distance riding.
my research and study on this subject of electric unicycles seems to imply that the greater the weight of the euc, and the larger the wheel (rim) can provide greater stability, especially at higher speeds.
i look forward to watching more of your videos, and learning a lot about the joys of euc travel.
Hi thanks so much for taking the time to reach out :) I think if you can take the time to test a couple of wheels you will find the best match for you. The Lynx is great! Gets a lot of positive reviews and if I were looking to upgrade from a beginner it would be high on my list. Good luck with it all, stoked for you and your journey. Thanks for the support
Excellent comparison! Love the way you identify and convey things. I've been riding the V11 for 2 years and love it, but I'm now looking for more speed. I'm wondering if the v14 would be better for my size given that I'm 1.78 meters tall and 75 kilos with gear. Love your content! Keep it going.
man the V11 is still a great wheel! More speed though yes 👍 sometimes hitting above 50kph is fun. v14 tops out about 70kph, for me I wish I had a little more to play with but that’s only because I was spoiled with v13 speed. For a wheel this fun and nimble 70 is fine, it still feels pretty stable at speed for such a small wheel.
Great wheel V14 really is.
Nice these videos are helpful. I'll probably get one of these two wheels around June but I'm not sure which yet. I do live where it rains tho so that might push me to the v14.
Either wheel will make you happy I’m sure. The Lynx goes ok in the wet I believe but the V14 does have a better water rating. Thanks for watching my video.
But seriously, thanks, with this video I think I finally found my final verdict on the V14 vs Lynx dilemma. Couldnt see it as clearly earlier.
Tough decision this year with such great wheels to pick from. You’d be happy with either. Good luck.
Notice how close that kickstand gets to the stairs on the Lynx. Mine has hit when going slow of steep drops. I took it off and love it. Also that kickstand will bruise your legs very easily if you go down on a low speed crash. EUC Clubhouse for oversized jump pads. Erides kit to lower the pedals. Next thing I really want is a versatile tire that is tubeless.
top shelf video, mate 🔥
Thanks heaps! Been working to keep the edits entertaining glad you liked it.
GREAT INFORMATION! CONCISE!
Thanks so much, cheers for watching
Looks like you could move the pads forward on the v14 so your shins have space to move before giving the wheel input
hey cheers for your reply, I understand what you mean but I have found I like it best to have the pads very close to my shins. It helps me feel locked in.
@@eucaus yes I understand the feeling you like. Try experiment getting your ankle and foot more locked in and giving your shin a bit more space. I can almost guarantee it will help the ride
@@eucaus sweet video btw safe riding bro
For the street it’s always gonna be 20” over 16” for me ⚡️
It just feels better on a 20 I think.
Спасибо, взял себе V14 ❤
Thanks!
Cheers TY
Great update 👍
Thanks 👍
Nice video. You mentioned how high each wheel reaches on your calves. Would you say you have more control when the wheel reaches nearer to your knee being more stable and having more leverage when turning?
Yes for me I find I have learned to control the wheel in a few ways but having upper leg purchase helps me just have another point to hold/lean. It became really important on the v13 and I think I have a fondness for it now. You how know you can carve with your knees tight on the wheel or with just your feet on pedals and loose in the legs? You still control the wheel but it feels like you are controlling it differently. I feel more connected with upper leg grab. (I hope all that makes sense)
I just ordered my V14 today. I live in Texas so sudden downpours are a legit consideration during my commutes. That, and the ability to reliably tackle offroading as well as street made the determination for me. The only question I'm left with is (for anyone with plenty of experience on the V14) how long is the range actually? What's the usual distance/time on a charge with various riding conditions?
Thx
Cheers!
Easy answer. Lynx😁💪
No really, v14 more nimble 😛
On Monday it was Lynx but Tuesday it was V14 - damn both good :)
I'm kind of thinking the V 14 is like your KTM adventure series, where the Lynx is a little bit more like a Honda Goldwing. 😂
africa twin
Really good discussion. Looking forward to any follow-up video.
Can you please comment on the width of the bodies. I think the Lynx is around 211mm but I don't know what the v14 is except that it looks pretty 'thicc' from a birds-eye view.
I'm coming from an Mten4 so I'm leaning toward a v14. I don't really want to be riding on the roads, if I can help it at least.
Thanks so much. You know I think they feel about the same width, I’ll double check as I’m away from the wheels. The Lynx is possibly thinner.
How about the acceleration from 0 to 30? V14 in theory should be more torqy and responsive for short accelerations.
Any ideas for street tyre model for V14? V14 50gb tyre is really really offroad and i dont like it in the city.
Im looking at getting my first wheel as a car replacement, what do you think about a complete noobie getting a Lynx as a first wheel?
Its over kill but its also not economical to buy something you out grow and then have to sell and buy something else later, I'd rather something smaller and much lower to the ground but being able to keep up with cars when your forced to ride on the road means 60kmph which means suspension and a voltage/battery size that can do it safely, is this logic sound?
I’d like to hear how it pans out... tyre changes being the pain in the arise that they are, I guess you’ll ...know how you really feel if you commit to the street tyre on one and the nobby on the other✌️
Oh man -.- No matter which one I pick I miss out on goodies.
V14: Much better lights front and rear, better app and settings. Better screen (black background white text instead of white bg black text on lynx).
Lynx: Bigger wheel diameter with access to the 14'' tires catalogue of the motorcycle industry. Much better seat position.
Going to be another Inmotion win for me. Also why does Veteran have 14'' rim 20'' tire so 6'' difference, when Inmotion has 12'' rim 16'' tire so 4'' difference. Are their tires really wider?
yep you got most of the points there, range will prob win on Lynx, V14 will win in the serious rain. Tyres confuse the hell out of me :)
I need one of these here in Brazil, and the price is ridiculous here, give me one and you don't mind much anymore! here and more than 20 thousand Brazilian dollars due to taxes. sad!
According to Ewheels the difference in range is only 5 miles. How much more range does the lynx have over the v14 are you noticing?
The prices are totally different and, the weight is different too.
Yep but both worthy wheels for a street roll
Which one of these 2 is easier to change the wheel?
hey 👋 lucky I haven’t had to do either but I believe the V14 is faster it’s got a nice modular build
Wish V14 got better tire chosse range, as R12 tires are v. limited
Share your opinion about pidzoom horn! Very interesting
Does the lynx have any weather protection? What helmet is that it looks great.Thank you.
pretty sure it is dust and splash resistant IP65 not bad for a light rain
@@eucaus thank you so much I really appreciate the info :)
Hi, while riding with pads, do you stand with one foot a little more to the front and with the other foot a little to the back? Or do you stand equal, same same with both feet? Thank you from Vienna Austria Marc
IMO if one can keep speeds to ~60ish kmh enjoys carving & being more playful, the v14 (& other competing 16" wheels for that matter) will win the day. No doubt the Lynx (& other competing sized wheels) will be more stable at speeds & handling rougher terrain. That said, tire choices will be much more limited with the 16" (or 12" rim size) so that might be a mitigating factor as well. Obviously its better x10 to have both or more but if its one&only, I'd go for a 18" wheel, Lynx in this case but this would hold for its competitors ala Master, Commander GT & such. IMO ofcos
I am still so impressed with how easily you can change the feel by switching to smaller/larger wheels. I agree the carving and playful nature of smaller wheels, they can make the vibe a bit more energetic. Lynx though totally holds its own! So light and doesn’t feel much bigger than v14
Do you prefer the v14 or the begode extreme?
Patton, lol
I like V14 both very capable and perhaps I’m just a fanboy of IM a little :) I only rolled on a very early batch extreme
Curious how long you people been riding. I did 2 days. Got alot better. But wondering when I'll be this good.
The V14 has the same Max Speed as the V12… make it make sense? Okay, the battery & motor is more powerful but in the end the top speed is what matters.
I would rather pay $1600 for 43.5 mph max than $3k and get basically the same Top Speed.
Until I see a wheel that has a verified 60+ mph max speed?
I will continue to enjoy my V12’s…
The V13 is faster than the V14 and they are dyslexic for that.
yes I hear you :) thanks for the comment. I think for people buying the V14 they are about suspension mostly and a good bit of torque to jump around in the trails. I admit a little more speed would be nice to round out the package. It would be nice to see a newer V12 some suspension would help it along nicely. thanks for watching
In the end, top speed is what matters? Well we'll have to differ on that, I completely disagree. Bottom of my list.
@@boblatkey7160 : it’s a Motor Vehicle. Speed & Torque is important if you are an everyday EUC Commuter who needs to be able to keep up with the Speed Limits of the Roads you are commuting on.
Speed isn’t the most important for everyone, and if my wheel goes 70 mph it doesn’t mean I’m gonna do 70 but as long as I know my capabilities I’m good.
To each their own but if I’m paying Sub 4k numbers for a vehicle I need it to go as fast as the Current Max Speeds, not the Max Speed from 2022. That’s All
@@OnlyBuilt4FinancialContracts yeah, I hear you're 100%. I cruise 40 mph on my Lynx, but you are correct to know that there is plenty of room above that. I Just really enjoy my wheel at speeds of around 25 miles an hour and even less than that off Roading. My favorite is black diamond Mountain bike trails. Thanks and have fun!
@@boblatkey7160 : Keep it Wheel Brother! Stay Rolling
I bought a v11 as a quicker way to get around without knowing how to ride it fast forward 7 days ive ridden it over 600km and want to upgrade to a bigger wheel. Ive eaten shit enough to know when to chill my v11 is busted to shit the wheel is dented the tire is bald and I rip the fuck out of it although im very tired of it yelling at me when I hit 55 most of the speed zones I go through are 40-70 zones so 55 gets problematic.
I understand your excitement :) I remember my early V11 days. Even now it is still a good wheel, you feel you outgrow it and you will but it is still great for a trash around :) I still like mine. take it easy a little though, I don’t want you to hurt yourself too early, gear up with those speeds hey, I learnt the hard way early on.
Good luck and welcome to EUC
@@eucaus yeah I ran into a teee on my first day I have some gear but when I upgrade wheels I will also be upgrading gear.
Nice intro.
The V14 50s
What happens if you get a tank slapper on an euc 😂
It happens for sure! The death wobbles. It is kinda the same as a bike really, try not to panic and ride it out best you can, let the wheel settle and relax the control a bit. Lowering you body a little and clenching your butt together :)
now sure did you noticed it when you edited your video, I think lynx is not good for down stair due to the position of the kick stand.
You almost hit the kick stand when you did down stair and that could be extremely dangerous if it dis hit, you would be thrown out of it
These devices seem totally silly.
One is water proof and the other isn't? Why even bother considering something that can't handle some rain unless you live in California
Lynx is not waterproof CERTIFIED but it’s sealed and should be just fine when you ride it in the rain.
My Lynx came with papers saying it is ip65 rated.
Lynx can handle rain from splashes ip65 rating as others have said so being caught in the rain would be ok. I might do a video of it in the rain in the future.
Nice
Thanks
@@eucaus you are welcome!
