great review of the lynx with the tnt tire. my 3rd lynx with that tire is incoming.
again, best review i've ever seen. i love seeing the rider riding the wheel. i agree 100% with everything u said. try increasing ur tire pressure to max. the tnt tire max load is 309 at 33psi. ur sidewalls are heating up causing squirm. after a ride like that, judt feel ur sidewalls,
the lynx is the best i've had so far.

I went from the stock street tire to a Shinko 244 on my Lynx, and I am really liking the 244. I did a tubeless installation of the 244. The profile of the 244 is such that I can still really lean into a curve; yet, there is enough knobs for confidence when I go offroad. The Lynx is an amazing machine, I used the Chooch code when I ordered the Lynx from Ewheels. I hit 2000 miles on the Lynx today. I have 3500 miles on my Patton, so in my first 11 months of riding EUC I have travelled 5500 miles on them. I just got the Leatt Z Form Knee Braces today. Here in a week or two I will do a quick review of the Z form.

Closest thing to flying beside skydiving. Love my V13 I'm glad you convinced me to get one! I've been putting my hands behind my back lately when I'm flying down the road while standing, you can feel the difference in the force of the wind. Also high speed cornering you can use your hands to help push you the way you need to go using the wind.

Great video Chooch. I agree, the lowering kit made a huge difference.

People in cars that speed up when you try to pass them and then slow down when you don't, there is an acronym for them. MGIF. Must get in front syndrome. They will pass you and then slow down in front of you cause they really are not comfortable at that speed but when you try and pass them they will speed up again just to slow down later. They are the highest cause of traffic accidents on mountain roads because of their ego.

You are great and you allow us to dream through your videos! You must sometimes feel like you're a big condor flying over America! These big wheels are not at all suitable for the European market because there is not enough space to enjoy yourself as much as you do and especially in the middle of the city it's not even conceivable here, you are lucky to live in the UNITED STATES! :-) You make me want to live there just to have this feeling of freedom!! In short, don't change, you are a true example of positivity in this world where everything is quickly censored. The main disadvantage of the Veteran Lynx is its high center of gravity.
It is strange that no one pays proper attention to this in reviews.
Lowering the pedals only partially solves this problem.
Judging by the video, the oscillations are exactly the same as before, just easier to control with the pedals lowered.

I gotta thank you chooch! All that talk about carving and the V12 HT as a great starting/all around wheel, dude, every time I get on that thing my ride improves by leaps and bounds. You were totally right. And the carving has another positive too in that I just rode one of the gnarliest rock strewn trails ever and without carving all the time there’s no way I could manipulate that wheel to thread the needle around and over those boulders like I did. And not having suspension? My legs are always bent as they’re my suspension and they work great! I’m going to feel very spoiled whenever my Lynx gets here.

The game changes when I exceed 50 mph due to reverse-wind effects (that begin around 30 mph). Over 50 the reverse-wind effects seem to exceed my lean (hang-ass pulling handle). I have a 50 mph stretch on my commute I've been practicing before exceeding 54 mph.

For anyone who do not have a lynx here's some actual numbers from experience. (since chooch doesn't want to disclose his speed)
These are the numbers for the first beep (4 beeps on a row. There is also constant beeping and also harsh loud "buzzy" beeps that almost sounds like warning alarm. All the numbers below are when you hear the first "4beeps")
53-56mph only works at full charge and will only last about 6 minutes or 5 miles.
50-53mph works for about 10 miles or another 6 min.
47-50 works for about another 5 miles.
After that it will start beeping 1mph less/min.
A good rule of thumb is starting at 56mph, your top speed will drop about 1mph every 2min.
So if you ride for 10min your top speed will be 51mph at the end of the ride.
    20min ride = 46mph.
Any ride after that is just a buzz kill because you can only be around 35-38mph and it just feels like a bicycle worrying about cars coming up from behind rather than a fun euc ride where you can go past cars.
If chooch is really able to go 52+mph up hill for 20min, I'm probably doing something wrong. Ask him for his parameter set up to allow so much conservation of power.
This is just how my lynx behaves. I have the 50s battery version that released in eWheels batch 4 around end of March 2024.
Also, I used to be a cyclist for 20 years. I don't sit, but I keep my back perfectly flat like a TTbike. I find this TT cycling posture to be more aero than the sitting posture. Quads touching abs, chest almost touching knees. I weigh 150 with full gear. Not that it matters. If you stand up and catch wind, the euc doesn't "work harder". It's not a bicycle. The euc simply tries to stay upright. All a wind does is it makes you more difficult to lean forward and of anything the wind helps the euc keep you upright. On the other hand if you have tail wind and wind is pushing you forward, THAT will stress your lynx more because now it has to work harder to stay upright since the wind pushes you forward. Anyways, my lynx is only fun for about 15 minutes until it beeps forever.
If all you're doing is commuting, then it's more than enough. This is what I use it for, and my commute is 10 miles, and only ride for about 12 minutes so I can enjoy enough of what lynx has to offer both ways (I charge to full at my office).

Of course wind resistance negatively affects performance, to think it’s an advantage is wild.
Get 50+ mph for 20-30 miles then will ease back

Incase you don't have an euc and are not sure how a euc works, here is a brief explanation.
If you stand up straight on an euc, ideally, it outputs zero power. It's standing up straight, not leaning in either direction, and the euc is happy.
If you lean 10 degrees, now the center of gravity is forward and it has to move forward to force your 10 degree lean back to zero (sort of. Trying to keep this short without talking about force vectors).
However, if there is a strong wind coming from front, then, you can actually stand in place with a 10 degree lean without falling forward. If you are to stand on an euc in this condition, your euc "believes" the rider is standing straight, so it doesn't need to out put more power, it will just stay there at 0mph. Nothing is "falling" forward or backwards that the euc needs to correct for using its motor.
It's more work for the RIDER, though, since you now need to lean more to tell your euc that the center of gravity is in front of the euc.
The opposite applies for the tail wind. If you have tail wind, just standing upright with centered center of gravity will cause the euc to believe you're leaning forward/ is falling forward. So it will actually start moving, even if you stand straight up. In order to stay still, the rider has to lean back.
Which ever the case is, what the euc "believes" it needs to do to keep you upright doesn't change.
In theory, If you have 100mph headwind, the rider could lean almost 45degrees, but the euc will believe that the rider above is standing straight, and will not need to do anything to keep you from falling over, since the wind is already doing that for it, and it's happy having the center of gravity be right in the center.
Now the only linear effect is the air resistance the euc has to contend with, but this is both negligible (because the air resistance the rider causes is far greater) and not a variable (since there's nothing we can do about it unless customized with some pointed cover that channels the air around the device). All that a rider currently can do to make riding easier is, typically, to be less of a sail/be more aero position.
Now, if what "gr" means by performance is how it feels to ride, yes, it's very difficult to ride when it's windy.
But this isn't more work for the euc. It's more work for the rider to lean forward.

@@user-vy7db9tv3k aw thanks. and also thank you for bringing up a very intuitively confusing point. I'm sure the most popular view is that air resistance and wind will (significantly) affect the power output of the euc. After all, every single vehicle that currently exists requires more power when there is wind acting upon it, and as far as I know, an EUC is literally the only vehicle that doesn't. I wasn't sure whether this was obvious to EUC riders so I kept my original comment short, but I'm glad you mentioned it so that I could share a slightly deeper explanation.
I hope you have a good day too!
