    The problem with not having a fingerprint scanner is that your not able to easily use biometrics to sign into apps that require something more secure like your bank or password manager.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  Год назад +1

      Yes, that I do agree with. Some apps can work with face unlock but a lot of apps are going to need something more secure and for apps that need that, that can be a big deal. May be a better tablet for the money, especially since it comes with a speaker for only $20 more. No high refresh rate screen but other than that it should be pretty similar

    Question, you mentioned about the apps and how they don't adjust. ( In portrait versus landscape)
    Has this changed with updates? Any improvements?

    This is a good year for Android Tablets. Can't wait to see how the Google Pixel Tablet and Samsung Galaxy Tab S9's perform.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  Год назад

      That's really what I'm thinking. Before it was just galaxy tablets or nothing. But now around $500 we will have the pixel tablet and the OnePlus tab and Galaxy tablets. At least three options in the US. So finally things are getting better with tablets

      Google Pixel Tab is 60hz....huge let down. I cancelled my preorder and ordered a Oneplus Tab

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  Год назад

      I get that. 120hz, and it has a bigger battery. Both of those things can make it a better buy. It's a better tablet, with no speaker dock. The Pixel Tablet is a Google Pixel device, so it has google features, with a dock, those are the benefits. But the OnePlus is the better tab.

      @@AndroidDigest just got the OnePlus in and loving it so far.
      I was just looking for something for media consumption, not so much smart hub features. I don't like the idea of a company being able to have any control over my home. I just saw the article of Amazon shutting off a home owners home, because an Amazon driver claimed he heard the owner say something offensive. The owner wasn't even home at the time.

    To me the lack of video output of any kind is a huge problem. That means I would prefer the Galaxy tab, even a used S7 Plus or something, or Lenovo duet or a surface go. It just doesn't seem like a real productivity device. That's what I really wouldn't be cross shopping it with the Galaxy tab.
    If you don't care about productivity on a tablet, then at that point I'd probably just go with the pixel tablet because at least it doubles up as the smart speaker which is a huge value add for the same price.

    • @michaelcorcoran8768
      @michaelcorcoran8768 Год назад

      I should specify Lenovo duet 5 is that model I was talking about with the OLED screen. I'll go for that matter you could get the windows based duet 5i. $529 The keyboard included and not keyboard even works when it's detached to have Bluetooth and can run Windows

      You've got pretty good thoughts overall. But I think a lot of people don't use their tablets connected to a monitor. I should have mentioned it. So much to mention after all. But that can be a deal breaker especially with not having Samsung dex. So that's a big thing for Samsung, if you are comparing it with the Galaxy Tab S8, you will get better productivity on the tab. S8.
      But if you don't need a stylus and if you don't need to use Samsung dex, if you don't connect to a monitor, maybe this is just a secondary tablet and you just want to really fast tablet. This does have a lot of advantages over the Galaxy Tab. I actually fit into this category myself. Sometimes chrome tablets can be a little wonky with the software. So if I want a very simplified Android experience, if I want to really fast Android tablet, 120 Hertz screen. Big battery, fast charging. Those are all honestly things I would prefer. The Google Pixel will be fast and it will have a speaker dock. But if I'm someone who wouldn't use it much, You are going to be paying an extra $20 for a tablet that has no 120Hz refresh rate, no faster charging, and I can't remember the battery size but I'm guessing it's a little smaller too. I say this as a real Google person. But on the other hand, I know the Google Pixel tablet will have that Google pixel software, it will have the speaker with it and even if you don't use it a lot, it's still an advantage, So I think both tablets have their merits. Both tablets have a good spot. And I think both tablets are worth the money. And I think all of these tablets are for different people.
      For productivity driven people like yourself, I would recommend the Galaxy Tab or a Chrome OS tablet. Or maybe the pixel tablet if they do end up releasing it with the keyboard. So all of your thoughts are completely valid. I just don't think they represent everyone on the tablet market. And as always, I try to review things in a way that everyone can come away with their own thoughts and opinions and find what's right for them. Because it's all super subjective in the end

    Good review. Nice device for SINGLE USERS only. It's HOPELESS for families. Seriously don't buy it, I did and took delivery today and quickly discovered one MASSIVE failing. There's no option to switch users from the lock screen, so it's hopeless as a family device. Oneplus won't even recognise it's an issue. Their solution is that the last user must first login, the switch to the next user because they think that's more secure.... So it's more secure that everyone must share their passwords around to be able to change users. Rigggght. Take a look at your competitors and get back to selling phones. Time to return the device and buy a Pixel Tablet.

      Wow. Yeah that's a major flaw. Sounds like you should get a Pixel tablet with a family hub. As long as everyone puts it back when they are done it's a great option

    Even a Tab S7 Plus, even refurbished and without update is better than all these Xiaomi Pad and OnePlus Tab🤧
    I was probably spoiled by, the Tab S7s, especially the S7+, but I can not find a competitor to the Tab S (on Android).
    Samsung's Spen which is 👌🏽 and which cannot be rivaled by any other pencil except the Apple Pencil, the Oled screen of the Tab S7+ 🤩(which in reality is what pushed me to take the S7+, otherwise I would have preferred the S7 and especially a high-end Tab S of 8 '' like the iPad Mini 6),and especially the Galaxy Tab software really thought out and adapted to tablet, not to mention DEX.
    Apart from the power of the new processors on the new Android tablets, none have yet reached the level of the Tab S7+.
    And, I think, the Xiaomi-Pad 6 Pro is clearly a much better deal than this OnePlus-Pad.
    PS: and also the SD card support which for me is an imperative on a tablet.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  Год назад +3

      Feel free to share your opinion. I definitely disagree though. No updates on the S7 Plus is a big deal to me. I agree that the software is great on the Galaxy Tabs, and the S-Pen. So if you need DeX and you like Samsung software, it sounds like you know what you want. But if you buy this for $480 you will get a better screen, faster charging, and a bigger battery, with the same performance as the Tab S8, so there are still a lot of benefits, and it's $120 cheaper than the retail price of the S8.
      And the fact that you have to get a used S7+ which could be two years old to compete with this, means that this is a good value
      With that being said, I REALLY like Samsung DeX. I love the s-pen, and I like having a fingerprint sensor. So I completely get you preferring Samsung. Completely valid, and the OnePlus Pad isn't for everyone. But I still think it's good competition, along with the Pixel tablet.

      @@AndroidDigest The OnePlus-Pad Pad plus ➕ pencil is $580, the Tab S8 is currently $600, with better software, Samsung Dex, a fingerprint reader for security, a USB-C 3.2 port, and especially an SD card holder, I guess, everyone sees the good deal where they want 🤷🏽‍♂️

    sad joke of a tablet. the tab s8 is a far better pick

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  Год назад +12

      Did you watch the video? This is faster. It has a better screen. It has faster charging. It's cheaper so it's a better value. The Tab S8 has better software optimization. It has Sanding DeX and the one plus pad can't connect to a monitor. So yes the Tab S8 has advantages and it's better pick for some. But I wouldn't say it's better for everyone
