The rapping portion gives me a scatting kinda vibe and that’s gorgeous, because it matches the later scatting that occurs-
Bro I was waiting for the rap verse and not a single part of me expected for her to pull it off that well this cover is so sick
I’ve always maintained that any Gorillaz cover that removes or tries to melodize the rap segments is garbage. Glad that she embraced it.
Incredible
@@juniperj4731 what other covers are there? Any good ones? - Gorilaz is that Damon Albarn thing - yeah?
@@juniperj4731 I really like this but I didn't realise that I was familiar with the original until listening to it just now. Both kinda great but I'd go with the original.
She pulled it off like as cracks man..
She nailed the lyrics, the tune, voice, pitch, and even the outfit. This is perfect.
Okay, but it didn't sound like Ella.
I have to second you on that. She hit the bullseye on this.
There are so many comments talking about people not liking this video, but I haven't seen a comment that says anything negative about the video
That's a good thing, all those comments have been shoved down
@@seanpule3494 - It's crap. No hate. Use more accurate language.
here i give you one: i think she 's overdone witht he Vibrating of her voice. felt like she just caught up on that trick and wanted to shove it as much as possible in the song. wasnt bad, was just too much in too many spots.
@@DocDewrill i saw this...
same I’m actually looking for those
Y'all are nuts, this is a fantastic version with some incredible scatting.
How tf did you get verified with no videos.
@@ven5707 EXACTLY
Sure you’re verified on RUclips, but are you verified in the eyes of GOD?
I'm scatting while watching this
@@ezragrimes6716 You would be, Florida Man.
Jazz is my favorite genre.
Gorillaz is my favorite band.
Put the two together=
*H A P P I N E S S*
So that means mumble rap and lilpump?
Put two together and you get....
*ZA BAFF*
So,do you like Latin Simone?
GLADNESS
It's jazz/swing
That moment when you’re only seeing comments talking about other comments that don’t like this video, but you don’t see any comments about not liking this video.
Seth Phillips I’m mostly seeing comments about comments about comments that people didn’t like the video
Callum Davis yeah same, this is getting ridiculous
If you sort the comments by new you’ll see a lot of hate comments
SAME
It's getting drowned by the positive comments.
I ran out of cigarettes and illegal liquor, so I can't listen to this anymore.
jillian the only illegal liquor I can think of is moonshine which doesn’t really suit the vibe here
@@negan3873 It's a reference to the Prohibition, when liquor was declared illegal in America.

Bro no smoking please, i have asthma
we still haven't unlocked the drummer yet
I have a feeling he's going to be DLC.
maybe next update?
Ashley Stone There has to be a perfect storm of unlocks and use of items, you need the piano equipped but have to point the horns at the bass neck during the bridge.
I haven't unlocked the bridge yet, what level is that?
Pixel Factory 42, just make sure you have the sheet music item or it won't work, it'll glitch
Can we just take a moment to address the perfect vintage style of the cover? It just gives the song a whole new level of beauty and her voice is ASTONISHING
Disney villain vibe
This channel is like Pringles, once you pop (one video) you just can't stop.
Holy shit, this was sick. 10 seconds in and I hit Like. I’m very surprised how well this song lends itself to jazz.
"A melancholy town were we never smile" When she sang that part I got Just a Girl by No Doubt vibes lol
I'm a simple person, I see PMJ, and I feel good.
*PMJ and Gorillaz
Oh hell yes
I see what you did there, have a like.
incorporated?
Cat J Barber It's therapeutic.
its not a cover anymore, its a work of art this song

🤣🤣🤣
Lol lol
2:32 - 2:54
Her voice is soo hypnotizing. 😍
Okay, amazingly done. When I saw this one i was thinking, "no way they could rearrange it so it still sounds good." And wow was i wrong. (It did require a superior vocalist, but PMJ has consistently found the most amazing and skilled vocalists.) Well done.
This is actually very well done. People who don't understand the lyrics obviously don't appreciate the song enough to know them in the original. It's not Postmodern Jukebox's fault.
It's not like they bothered enunciating in the original either.
Or just don't have subtitles. I do. I put them.
The original Feels good inc. has such a unique sound i was curious to see how they would translate it to this style but they did an incredible job, this is now one of my fav covers.
This is a cover.
Not only that, but its a cover purposely done in a fairly different style.
I can understand what people are coming from in what they're saying about the vibrato and all that, and how its not good for Goriallz and all that, or that Robyn Adele Anderson could have done it better but heres the thing-
This is a stylizied cover, in the style of Vintage Ella Fitzgerald, a singer back in 1950s-1960s, around that, but I'm not 100% sure on the exact era. I've listened to a few of her songs briefly (note how I said briefly- I havent listened to an entire album or something like that. I skipped around a few songs and listened just enough to get what her style was because I wanted to see how the singer of this cover did in replicating it.) and Thia has done a wonderful job at executing the style. From what ive heard, a lot of Ella's songs have a lot of vibrato. Thia had quite a bit of emphasis on it, yes, but it works just fine.
This isnt supposed to be as trippy or eccentric as the original song, since that wouldn't genuinely go with the genre this cover is performed in. Yes, its not a match made in heaven, but they chose a different style and you can hear that its indeed a cover.
And of course, you're allowed to simply not enjoy the style, that's perfectly fine. You're allowed to still completely disagree with me, I'm not gonna be a pissbaby and screech at you. Opinions are opinions, so I thought I'd share mine
I think it’s a lot more than a “fairly” different style.
I agree with your assessment 1000%. She captures the genre and style of Ella Fitzgerald perfectly. I would pay money to see this performed live.
velvert Personally I’m not a huge fan of when Robyn does covers like this anymore. Sometimes she kills it, but there are many times that she’ll sing it with the original style to a totally different beat and it sounds weird and wrong. I actually do love this cover though. It’s blended together nicely and I think she captured both the Gorrillaz and Ella Fitzgerald fairly well.
well said
Personally I love the jazz vocal vibrato compared to the new stuff, way more soulful
I don't know why everyone says that they don't understand her, I understand everything perfectly fine.
Mimi- Same!🙃🙃
Mimi knowing the lyrics before hand makes a big difference
hating ass bitches thats all
Mimi ayeee army 👀👀
Yeah turn on captions
People are saying they can't understand her?
Well some people can't understand 2D either
I do not record any song I fully understood 2D to be honest
Not understanding 2D is the whole point of Gorillaz
Without the subs i totally missed, and 2D version is great bc i can understand that, the main theme is dystopian and 2D fit so amazingly
Same
Means she works ♡
I could listen that first chorus, with just the piano, the bass, a little back beat and her voice, over and over again.
One of Scott's best arrangements. So freaking good.
I love how PMJ arrange the covers. They chop and change the lyrical structure a little to make it their own. And I love what they did with the rap. This is just genius!
the solo intro was absolutely amazing and perfect
Obsessed with this version. Thia's voice and style are OUTSTANDING.
forget the voice which is simply amazing.
its her performance that truly steals the show.
if ever given the chance i will, no doubt, do my best attend a live show of hers
I AM SO IN LOVE WITH THE JAZZ VERSION OF EVERY SONG THIS CHANNEL HAS OH MY GOD
Blimey, I love how artistic this version is, especially that laughing thing.
"all these comments talking smack" "y'all don't know what you're talking about, she killed it" and I'm here like... Who? Who is complaining? This rocks.
I feel kinda bad for the drummer in these videos since most of the time he's hidden behind the singer :/
Nicolas Boyer I'm beginning to think that this is done on purpose...
Nicolas Boyer I have been here since 2013 and I am pretty certain that it is on purpose. I don't think that it would have been necessary to have him hidden so it might be a personal choice or something
Nicolas Boyer He's like Mr. Wilson, from Tool Time.
We just haven't unlocked him yet.
Welcome to the world of being a drummer. lol
Thia Megia has such a beautiful voice!
Singer is stunning. Audio engineer deserves credit for letting that bass shine through like it should. Wait, there was a drummer? Must be a PMJ video.
Amazing! I love this version! Can i use an instrumental of this version for a spanish cover?
ostia que haces aca :O?
¿what?
yo te conozco del cover de I'm still standing, muy bueno por cierto
Welcome Thia!
This is a version that I never knew I needed! Also amazing vibrato from the vocalist
Like just isn’t enough!! Superb vocals and another top musical arrangement ❤️❤️❤️
Girl gave me goosebumps! Wow! What an amazing voice and her rendition is AWESOME!
Goosebumps in the first five seconds. Her voice is amazing.
The Windmill part sounds amazing! It's like calming at first, but it's also energetic. I love Gorillaz's original, but yours is also amazing
She makes singing look so easy. Great voice, and good performance of Thia.
This is my favorite cover on PMJ. I really enjoy how much fun she's having fun with the song and that's important because Feel Good Inc is an incredibly important song to me. Great work!
This was fantastic!!!! This song is just so NOT vintage but you guys really made it sound like it could've been!! If I'd never heard this song before I would have thought it was a very old song. The arrangement was beautiful and I really enjoyed her unique style of singing. Really imaginative, loved it!
She is a fantastic singer, the band is outstanding as well.
Classy video. Thank you for sharing your videos.
she is gorgeous
I love the performance of everyone, specially the singer and all her gestures
I hear her voice at the first line of the song... and I automatically clicked the like buttom.
I for one love the her vibrato and singing voice ❤ love the way the song was performed
Even towards the beginning of the song?
This is one of my favorite PMJ covers. Nice job!
I'm in love with these versions🥺❤️
Yes !!!!! FINALLY !! WILL YOU DO EL MAŇANA???
*YESSSSSS MY REQUEST FROM LIVE*
i requested "killing me softly" i hope they make it too :D
with HALEY
Gio Yuki it's already a classic
why make it more classic?
i think it could be interesting . just like they did with other classic songs
Yall navigated this song beautifully!! With all its original different pacings and the rap the way yall converted it, wel executed
Great tribute to Ella as well as Gorillaz. The band and Thia are absolutely perfect in this.
She has such a great vibe. This is a seriously underrated cover
Oml. This is absolutely perfect. I'm in shock
I love this. My fav song with one of my favourites types of music. Thanks
The covers they do are so great
0:54 The piano at this part was gorgeous.
Once again I must demand a "standing ovation" button from RUclips. Spectacular rendition of my fave Gorillaz song.
Thanks for reviving this type of music. Love it!
Awesome ...I heard every word....This is a great arrangement..She's a good singer,nice styling and phrasing.very impressed...
The PMJ Stage is getting thick with American Idol Season 10 contestants. Thia has a great Jazz vocal quality that resonates beautifully. Great addition! It will be quite the reunion when Casey and Haley join her on stage. Hmm, Boston?
I don't have words. Best!!!
THIS! THIS is the kind of musical and creative talent that this world needs right now!! I'm absolutely in love with this, it's so fresh and unique, without completely disregarding the original song, really cool!
What a very awesome and unique tone thia!
Oh I seriously love this!!!😍
Omg this is so amazing!!!
You guys capture these tunes remarkably. Here’s another one that could fit in that place and time.
I AM STUNNED. GORGEOUS SINGING AND BEAUTIFUL ACCOMPANIMENT. ALL THAT VIBRATO WAS INTENSE. LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT.
Damn, just damn. That 2:30 was beautiful. PostModern I love ya. One of my many, favorite songs, and you all did great with it.
As with so many of PMJ's exquisitely talented lady artists, Ms. Megia makes me want to toss down some whisky and growl:
"Dat's wun _classy dame_ right dere."
Amazing version of this song! I want a Thia Megia CD!
She is great and has a stunning voice
Wow. I love this.
this is amazing
Thank you so much for making this channel, this is the coolest experiment in music I've ever seen
Oh my gosh I have shivers! This is perfect
Sitting here in gorillaz tee shirt, with their figure and albums displayed in my room and having been following them since clint eastwood, but honestly... well, its herrasy for me to say this is better, but damn did yall kill it, this is so great, so diffrent but fantatic on every level. Great work.
Thia Megia slays it! We are floored! PMJ, you guys are awesome! More from Thia!
Fascinating!
Chills. I got chills.
Me encanta el jazz y escuchar Gorillaz como jazz es como despertar una emoción dentro de mí, me encanta es un cover tan hermoso y muy agradable
I'll be honest, I can't understand the lyrics any better now
lmfao
exactly what i was thinking. without sounding rude, it sounds like an eastern european attempting english by copying what she thinks the lyrics are lol.
The noises she makes are pleasant enough, but I think calling them "lyrics" is a bit of a stretch.
Yeah you put it better than i. Haha
It's something you see a lot with the singers here (Haley's another), and probably what separates some from going professional- Great tone, timbre etc but no diction whatsoever. I'm nowhere the quality of singer of these guys but diction was the FIRST thing my vocal teachers drilled.
It-s been hours i have been playlisting your songs
Perfect. Stunning. Speechless. 💯💯💯
Am I the only one who honestly loved this version. Everyone is talking smack about her singing style and not being able to understand what shes singing, but I can understand it perfectly. The way she's singing is very true to the style and pleasant!
Why would people complain about that? Haven't they heard the original? You understand at lot more here than there
who is talking smack? I dont see anyone like that in the comments
What a refreshing version!!!
Marvelous....❤ This musical adaptation is incredible. I liked it so much the jazz style
You always have the prettiest singers and nicest set's. Movie's should hire you guy's with how good you are.
Not that I don' t appreciate all the others in this performance, but thanks to this video, I discovered Danny Janklow! What an amazing Saxophonist.
dont think i ever clicked a video as fast in my entire life.
the yolorosa your name is killing me hahahha
happy 413
word
OMG :0
the yolorosa lmao same b0ss
Love it! Awesome song and good portrayal!
Can I just say how beautiful her voice is for this song? 😍❤
It's so amazing how well this song translates to such a very different genre and style.
That might or might not be a sign that Gorillaz is one of the hip hop bands that's got some class. Not sure, but I'd buy that, Gorillaz can be pretty cool.
So was anyone going to tell me about this cover or was I just supposed to wait for the youtube algorithm to recommend it 2 years later
Tell me about it finding it today
Try 3 years later dude
I was gonna tell you, but I had the minor inconvenience of not knowing about the existence of either you or this cover before today
Too many years too late for me. This is phenomenal
Another grand performance!
this is WONDERFUL!!!
