The first live concert I ever saw was at 12 years old. Mom took me to see Les Brown and his Band Renowned at Miller Auditorium. I enjoyed their old swing records, but seeing a real big band on stage hooked me.

All this got me reminiscing and I did a little research and discovered that Doris Day got vaulted to stardom by recording "Sentimental Journey" with this band, and Tony Bennett did his first major public appearance with them on a Bob Hope special. That's some good stuff on the resume!
