i have a question thats not blender related so much but i really always wonder if your mascot in your videos "default dog" is reference to the doggo in your channel image, i do like it as appose to the default cube we all tend to murder
Thank you so much for this!! I have been trying for days to taper a roll cage into a vehicle design and this helped me in less than 4 minutes. You Rock!😎
I use the lattice for animation by moving the object in and out of the lattice. Plus Shapekeys. I didn't know about the vertex group to only effect some of the object and I haven't worked with proportional editing. So thanks for the additional info.
I can't believe I have not been using this! It is going to save me so much time. Thank you for another well put together tutorial. You explain stuff really well.
I've seen many tutorials on latice modifiers, but this is by far, the best. You take it slow and explain each step very clearly. Your voice is very clear so it's easy to understand what you are saying. Many tutorials, unfortunately are hard to follow since some only give you bad background music and no verbal instructions on how to proceed. Excellent video! Thanks!!
I wish I knew about vertex groups while designing my spaceship. I had to use multiple lattices linked to multiple objects making up pieces of my wings, hull, etc. Great tutorial.
Good tutorial for people who need exactly this but, new guys to blender, don’t waste time doing lattice every time you need to do simple deformations, use just proportional editing, then you will understand in what cases comes this technique in handy
Thanks for tutorial but I wish they made this process much simplier like maya. Click the object, click add lattice modifier, done. It seems like a lot of extra steps they make you do in blender that I dont understand why. Regardless cool tutorial!
The only reason I never used this tool was because I didn't know I had to actually create a lattice first.. Blender still needs some more intuition implementing because if I put a lattice modifier on an object, I would assume a lattice would be automatically placed on the bounds of my object. I feel like I've wasted so much time not realising this extra step
Thank you for the video! but I have a question, how to make it so that to attach and deferment using this item some part of the model and not the whole model, as shown in the video
Is it possible to have a lattice parent/follow an object and at the same time deform another object to replicate collision/interactive scenery? I suppose to have it work in a similar way to magnet modifiers in poser
nope, maybe for simpler stuff it can indeed be faster and faster than bones but it would never work as a alternative...can it even be animated in first place?
I have the issue that when I make my object and then apply the lattice box how its done in the video, that the object moves to another location and shrinks. What am I doing wrong?
Add a lattice object, add a lattice modifier, reference the lattice modifier is too many steps? I literally added one in 10 seconds. Everything else is just how you can customize the lattice...
Hi everyone! Let me know if you have any questions about the Lattice Modifier in the comments below! :)

Man, I have no idea how you don't have more views. Direct and clear explanations. College course tier WORKING explanations for people. Great videos.
After one year searching finally found. Equal of boxedit in 3dsmax. Finally I can move into blender easily. THAAAAANK YOU.
This was the tool holding you back?

Excellent video! Thanks!!
Just now getting more into leveraging the Lattice Modifier tool. Extremely useful tool! Thanks for the tutorial.
Thanks, Justin! The Lattice is a very powerful tool!
I can understand How it works, but I would have liked seeing it used in a few work flows to get a better idea of When to use it
So helpful, thanks again. Love your Channel
Thank you for sharing this, it really help me while working on my commercial projects.
Excellent. Clear. Thorough. Practical. Recent. Nice work.
Thanks. Appreciate it. Trying my best. ;)
Best video on lattice modifiers I have found. Subscribed!
Welcome aboard!
Awesome content by showing systematically different examples which are only minimally different. Makes it very easy to understand. Thank you!!
As always, great tutorial! Thanks! The part about the vertex groups was exactly what I needed to know! Thank you! :)
Glad it was helpful!
I feel bad for the dog. It is like:OOOOH MY GOOD. My leeeegs!
thank you so much for making this video! really helpful, and you make it easy to understand and follow along to. i appreciate it.
your tuts in blender modifires benifeted me alot thx a lot for the effort
Great video to understand the function of the lattice tool. Thanks to producer!
thank you so much! great tutorial for a beginner with great examples
Glad it was helpful!
Just left one thing: get to know when it can be handy :D
I wish I knew about vertex groups while designing my spaceship. I had to use multiple lattices linked to multiple objects making up pieces of my wings, hull, etc. Great tutorial.
Well now you know! :)
well done clear Best wishes
Very helpful and easy to understand, thanks
Great tutorial,l thanks!!
Thanks for this. great to modify amorphous objects evenly.
Glad it was helpful!
Very good explanations - I really like your short tutorials!!!
thank you so much! very useful!
you're a blessing 👏
Glad you liked it!
Thank you. This was so informative.
nice explained i like your work thx for you engagement thumb high
Thank You! Helpful and clear explanations. Cool.
Glad it was helpful!
Crazy. Blender = best 3d software ever.
Awesome way to teach. Thank you :)
Excellent work! Thank you very much
Cool, taught me a few things I didn't know :) very useful
thank you so much to explaing it so well😊
Thanks very useful
thanks, clear, precise and very usefull!
Glad it was helpful!
Very kool modifier. thanks
Glad you like it!
Thanks this seem to be a very usefull modifier! :)
Very cool thank you
No problem!
Instructive.
A new one to me. Great!
very cool
Very good tutorial
Thanks a lot. Lo explicas muy bien.

Great stuff thank you
Thank you!

awesome
nice video man, thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you!!!
you are great.
Glad you liked it!
Thanks!
Great tutorial! You can also make one on animating with the Lattice Modifier using the AnimAll addon if you haven't done so far...
I'll have to check this one out
Awesomeness

and what is if the object is not in aligned to the grid any longer?
thank you
You're welcome!
Thank you for the video! but I have a question, how to make it so that to attach and deferment using this item some part of the model and not the whole model, as shown in the video
Cool, thanks for this video, but what the difference between Vertex groups about Lattice and Vertex groups about mesh ?
There is no difference. Vertex groups are just that, groups of vertices.
About vertex group. Lattice don't need to be the same size like group that it affect, lattice could be the size of the whole mesh?
Thanks!
How do you select specific vertexs and apply lattice to them?
thx
thx again
How do u remember how to do all this 🤔
great
can I deform just a part of shpere (only selected vertex) with lattice deformer.
Your dog became a Sighthound
Is it possible to have a lattice parent/follow an object and at the same time deform another object to replicate collision/interactive scenery? I suppose to have it work in a similar way to magnet modifiers in poser
As thorough as you were, I thought you would cover shape keys as well.
Ok?
@@TheCGEssentials - You asked for a comment on what I thought, and that is what I thought.
@@onjofilms Ok
Do you have a tutorial on how to make this dog? I'd love to have him! :)
Start Here - ruclips.net/video/JjW6r10Mlqs/видео.html
on 3d max is used to make glass, crazy, believed blender can do the same
Which button to scale the lattice?
Can a lattice modifier be used on a rigged character?
i can use this to model the female legs i believe i have to see
the fact that you need a 13min tutorial for a simple lattice modification tells enough about the GUI of blender
Sounds like you had your mind made up way before the tutorial
@@TheCGEssentials not really, was genuinly hoping I was a big dummy for doing something wrong. It ends up it actually is that hard
whats that addon you have a above CAD transform?
Looks to me like this could be an alternative to bones.
nope, maybe for simpler stuff it can indeed be faster and faster than bones but it would never work as a alternative...can it even be animated in first place?
I have the issue that when I make my object and then apply the lattice box how its done in the video, that the object moves to another location and shrinks. What am I doing wrong?
Had you scaled it and applied the scale before applying the modifier?
try to select your object and hit Control + A to apply all the transforms, see if it fixes it.
when I object select my Lattice. it pushes the geometry outside of the lattice some. any idea why that might be the case please?
Have you applied any rotation and scale you used on your object?
@@TheCGEssentials yes I had. the problem was that I was scaling the Lattice in Edit mode. scaled in Object mode and working great. thanks a lot 🥳
Audio didn't come in until after 0:16 into the video
Thanks for the heads up!
I never managed to use this tool. My lattices never acts like in videos, like it should normally act. That's why I'll never use lattice
Is not workung
this is way too many
steps compared to 3Dmax, my god
Add a lattice object, add a lattice modifier, reference the lattice modifier is too many steps? I literally added one in 10 seconds. Everything else is just how you can customize the lattice...
Unhappy dog, that only they did not do with it.
A really practical content
I’m not understanding shit rn I hate it here lmao
You might want to start somewhere simpler then - ruclips.net/video/x_Evla8aKAQ/видео.html
