Beautiful canyon, that hike looked like fun!! Thanks for the tips and how you read the river!! A sniping trip is coming ,I can feel it!! Good job Mr. Gary, glad your ankle is feeling better!! Thank you for bringing us along!!
Always love your videos, looks like a heck of a hike! Beautiful river
Another terrific video Gary. Still teaching the young-uns how a master gets it done! Thanks, Al
What a beautiful spot, glad you were able to go out with good friends and find some gold! Thanks for taking us along Gary. Appreciate it.
Really awesome to watch your episodes Gary. Something how many areas have been searched before.
Always a good source of wisdom. Nice work! ⚒️
Wow, you had a great day. Todd's nugget looks like some old gold. We got snow on the ground here in Reno. 🇺🇲👍😎⛏️
Love the guitar and music in the beginning! I have seen this spot in a few other California prospectors video
You always give the best advice! Killing it as always!
Hey homie, I'm near Gold Hill, where are you? I'm a sub to you as well. Love to hook up with the locals for sure⛏⚒⛏
Thanks for another informative video, Two Toes...one day I'll find myself an old hunk of gold around here too, in northwest Alabama.
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing your knowledge man. I appreciate it
Love that your 'picker' is most folks 'nugget'.
Thanks for all your great tips Gary,
I really liked your intro for this episode it was nicely done!
Fun day Gary, hike was easy 😂and I think we need a return trip tomorrow lol. Great job explaining the river flow and picking great spots to detect 🇺🇸
I wanna go. Lol
I'm thinking helicopter. lol
@@TwoToes jet pack !!!!!
I’m thinking camping trip 🇺🇸
@@topcatgoldprospecting That spot looks so good, one day could never be enough.
Great video Gary, very helpful for me understanding prime lies for the Gold! That bed rock looked rugged and beautiful! Hope you have a Blessed Thanksgiving! Dan Brent
Great Job. I'm still working on finding my first picker with the detector. Wish us all luck.
I always feel smarter after your videos 🍻. You proved you're the metal detector and that thing you swing is just a pinpointer!
Good morning just want to tell you how much I have learned me and my wife have watched all your videos can’t real use it yet but we live in Buffalo New York but one day we will get out west
Thanks. Man those hikes are gonna keep you young if they don’t kill ya😅 appreciate you sharing your knowledge. You are definitely the GOAT ( greatest of all time!)
Thanks Gary. Great adventure.
Another winner Gary! Nice work. Greetings from South Fork of The American.
Just amazing fam. Keep on having fun getting that au and living the dream fam. Gold Squad Out!!!
Great video Gary those sierras are a beautiful place I lived in Carson City Nevada sierra few years ago
Looks like you found your new spot really cool. I hope you find a lot of gold.
A very nice take, I hope you get back in there to snipe before the rains set in! It has been raining here 8 hours north of you and the rivers are UP!
Having fun thanks for the video and your time.
Another great vid. Nice nuggets as well!🇺🇸👍🏾
Another great episode with a wealth of great information. What you call fines I call nuggets in my area lol nice pieces and decent sizes for fines. 4.25 grams is a great result definitely looking forward to a sniping video if you make it back. Thanks for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏼👊🏼p.s. was waiting to hear your regular intro music you tricked us lol
Great content thx! I have the same shirt lol. From Maggie valley wheels TT visit in May.
Keep up the good work!
Great video enjoyed good to see your all healthy and a nice amount of yellow at the end of the day cheers Glenno
Great info. That was an awesome take for the day. keep it up.
You helped me a lot. Thank you Sir.
So, I have something you may, or may not be interested in. It's a book published in 1961 called The lost Mines of Nye County. A lot of the landmarks are gone. But you're the closest prospector to here that might get some use out of it. I got it in an auction.
Thanks for the interesting information!
Hi Two Toes👋 Been a while, thought I would come say hi and brush up on some education💯 Beautiful out for you guys that day, I loved that part of the river👍 One thing I'm learning for sure is to follow the bedrock and dig down in all the cracks and pan it out! Thank you😊 And I have to say the pieces you found and called pickers sure looked like chunky nuggets to me🌟😃 Have a good one Gary🤙 Heavy Pans
Am from Ghana we got gold but I really need a detector to work
@kategreens Absolutely and a detector is fun and you find more treasure than just gold💯
what beautiful scenery. Looks like a lot of big animals could live out there.😮
Pretty evidently, your ankle healed up well enough. Glad to see that. And it looks like you had a great gold day, too. Kudos. Thanks, Gary, for being such a good teacher to all of us.
'You still ridin' that knucklehead?
My 51 is ok - but a knuckle, they just don't get any better looking!
@@TwoToes
I know the feelin' -
I can't stop sneakin peeks at my 2017 Fat Boy. Love is love.
That hill side looked good. You killed it and dug a lot of lead. Great video.
Thanks for sharing!
Alway helpful Gary and love the gold you find. All that bedrock can make a guy salivate and I was doing a drooling Homer Simpson wishing I was working there. Take care out there and be safe.
Gary,
Does a narrow canyon slow down the river flow ?
I was in a narrow spot yesterday, and all the bedrock was full of boil holes and no boulders.
I thought I was hot stuff heading out at 5:30...
Great job on the intro! Those who know how much work that is appreciates it!
Also looks like you are running a new setup for filming? Or just different style?
Great spot. More gold there for sure. Great adventure 😊👍
You are right on. Always pan the material near the nugget and you will have more gold for the year.
Hi Mr. Gary, I like all your videos but imho this one is even better than usual!! Very, very informative for any newbies, I also recall watching several other such very educational examples from earlier on.
I'm curious if one would be somewhat accurate in describing your "cherry picking" techniques of your searching, as "Placer High Grading"?😉😉 Another great video, more great finds!, Keep up what you do sir, and thank you.
Very Nice Gary!! Thx for Sharing!! JJ
great video guys ! very helpfull
Great day great job again Gary
Morning Bennett. LBPA4life 🇺🇸
Mornin gentlemen and have an LBPA of a day.
Have a great day Brothers
morning, waiting for light so I can finish the roof - never know might rain some day!
Gary great video sir. Nice shirt too!
Thanks Gary!
Thank you sir for sharing. How do you prepare/ dialysis your detector for gold ?
What type of detector would you suggest? We are just starting out in northern MN! 😊
Thanks Mr. Toes 👍👍👍
Great find!
Hi Mister!
I hope you are well.
I like your videos so much🙂
Now I would like read your advice.
I know that you use a White's TDI to detect some of the targets in the rivers.
My question is: What do you think about having a White's TDI BeachHunter to do the same job?
I saw a couple of videos where people say that the TDI beachhunter is just regular TDI but there are a few differences between them like the new one is a waterproof model but has no high or low tone selector, anyhow I bought one for the purpose of gold nugget detection, but I am not sure if it will work in the river as it works in the beach, and I honestly have no experience doing that.
So do you think it will work?
I'm open to any tips to make it work!
I thank you for any advice you can give me, and thank you so much for every video.👍👍👍
looks like a ideal place to go back too afew more times
nice spot , hope to get down there with you guys soon. we had talked about a inflatable canoe to get past that spot.
You guys have these big beautiful bolder rivers. In ohio we are dredging creeks to find fly poop. One day I'll make a trip up north or west and go after the good stuff!
Wonderful from you. Good luck❤
Great video Two Toes
Holy hell, good job Gary. That’s a damn good day. You fully caught my attention when you mentioned wanting to snipe this area. Loos good huh ? If you ever want someone to snipe with just let me know, I’m always down for some snorkel action.
Too much gold, you wouldn't like it! lol
@@TwoToes , 😂👌
What a beautiful area.
Nice, thanks. Interesting !
🙂😎👍
Love the Content Ol Timer ⌛⌛⌛....Have you ever tried any places In NC...or Virginia??
Enjoyed the video nice gold
nice video sir ,
Lmao😂 top cats shirt is legendary 🤠, I feel that shirt best describes me at times
Man you Todd and Bennet aren't scared of a steep hill, thats for sure! SOme nice chunky pieces too
Beautiful
ကျေးဇူးပါဗျာ..။။
Nice 👍 👍👍
Take me with you! I want to learn from the master. 🙏🏻
Well done guys that was some climb
Wondering where you got your crevicing tool? Good looking tool. Thanks for the video! 🤠⛏️
Question for you. Do you ever dig out cracks in the bedrock even if you don't get a good signal with your detector? Or do you assume the crack is empty or gravels too deep to dig out and move on? Thanks Gary, great video and clean up.
If I'm on a river that has a lot of smaller gold, and the crevice is in a good spot I will dig it.
Thank you kindly Gary, appreciated.
Could be the North Fork American or the Yuba? Looks familiar but all the rivers look similar around here.
What a beautiful place
Very nice work you should use a small vacuum with good suction IT might help you out. So much work but I guess it's panning out for you! Lol good stuff!
Happy Halloween 🎃 Gary
Appreciate u man! U dont know anny mining operations hiring in new england do you
that "nice little picker" was visible at 3:22
Is this in California near Itilian Bar?
there is alot of bed rock in the river in the philippines .. is there a gold same as you found ?
Like your shirt…. Dales wheels through time is an amazing place!!! What brand metal detector is that?
Minelab SDC2300
your killing it on lead, think of all the fishing weights you can make (great day for gold also) lol
Some people are panning gold in city sewers until they find the very spot where a Jewellery shop is located which is right above the sewer.
What kind (manufacturer) of back pack do you use do you wrap your sharp tools with something to protect them from poking holes in the backpack? Also, i think i heard you mention you were goung to do a video on how to research areas. Keep up the good work!
I keep the tools in a canvas bag I made. It keeps the tools from destroying the backpack and if I want to take a gravel sample home, I have a bag to put it in.
Very first pan you found more gold than I have all summer. I gold pan in Maine (mostly coose canyon) and I think the touristry here has pretty much run this river dry. I need a new location. Im not finding hardly any gold 😫
Good video
Cool vid prob best yet 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Hey Gary, I was curious if you've ever found any platinum nuggets in your adventures. If I recall correctly, that might be more likely up in the Klamath Mountains?
Oh, how about diamonds? There are in fact some diamonds in your parts. The geologists aren't exactly sure how the got there because they've only ever been found in ancient channel conglomerates and modern river gravels, never in their host rock. They pretty definitely do not come from kimberlite or lamproite pipes, as in your normal commercial hard-rock diamond mines. One idea is that they're just eroding here and there out of the chunks of upper-mantle that got shoved up onto the continental margin.
Probably worth taking a second look if you find any little bits of quartz in your pans, because it might not be quarts
I have one nugget that I need to have Chris Ralph look at. I have found a couple of small diamonds north of Oroville.
Cataclysmic flood event might explain a random disbursement of diamonds in the ancient gravels
@@janjohannessmith7033 - The diamonds in the modern gravels are pretty much always downstream from ophiolites -- chunks of oceanic lithosphere, including mantle pieces. And they are often associated with mantle minerals, like chromite. So it's seeming likely to me that they are hosted in the ophiolites.
@@TwoToes - Very cool. If you and Chris were ever able to meet up for a day of prospecting, those videos would get quite a few views I think.
I wonder how many diamonds bounced off black sands in the old timers' sluices, and washed out. Probably a lot.
ever look for rhodium boss ??? few mines in california. expensive stuff. have a good day.
Where is this?
Good luck 🍀
Hope you’re getting some good sniping in with the water level so low, Gary!!
Cheers and may your pans always contain more than 2g! 😉😁
🖖😎👍
Always fun going to school with gary
He makes it look Easy
Look at you doing a fancy intro edit,👍
Now let's upgrade that go pro to a full frame, obviously not needed, I watch your videos for more learning then entertainment
Very first time i used sluice box.i went to what i thought was perfect area and ran some stuff and in bottom of pan was these silver chunks that would stick together then break apart as again when i shopk pan.did that 3 times with same effect......cont
Some of these were size of my thumb nail.i tossed each run back into creek because I saw no gold..years later saw something about mercury content of that creek and realized I tossed 1 to 1.5 oz of mercury coated gold into creek I panned from sluice clean up.always wanted to go back to that perfect spot again.now I could clean it to get it.dozen or so nuggets were about 1/4 oz..
It was place where there was bed rock and river came down steep then after several miles it leveled off and had cut new channels.i dug right behind a big long bolder that acted as gold catch..it was perfect spot but the mercury that coated it fooled me
Upstream from this place there are several large mines and it's known that some of them dropped amalgam ball from clean up.i still se it as a perfect gold catch but just haven't hiked the distance back into the place
