I tested positive for both Hsv1 with a score of 1.25 and for Hsv2 1.19. Once I discovered this video and did research about false Igg test I went and took the western blot test. I got my results and they came back negative for both. I'm grateful for for this video I'm just pissed that some doctors aren't aware of these false positives because this could ruin so many lives
@@ikhdakhusnayein4634 I'll share my full story to answer your question. I was having sex with one girl for a few months but before we started having sex I made her get tested for safety. She tested negative for everything. Her and I stopped dating and I didn't have sex for a year until I met this new girl. I was stupid enough to risk everything and have unprotected sex with the new girl and after I told her my situation I made her go get tested. Turns out she had hsv1 and hpv but I was still confused because I couldn't understand if the girl in my past didn't have Hsv2 and the current girl didn't then how the hell do I have it. I got one little bump in my pubic area which made think I had it but I knew this could either be Hsv2 or hpv. After I learned about the western blot test I decided to take it to know for sure and everything came back negative. So I know it's hpv but at least that disappears in 1-2 years as long as your immune system is strong enough
@@ikhdakhusnayein4634 and also my doctor told me the scores that I have didn't mean that I had it. It just means I was exposed to it. Doctors are very smart but they're not educated when it comes to the western blot test and they're not even telling people that the Igg has a false rate of false positives. I'm never taking an IGG test for that again lol
If you’re already negative on wb then you’re negative. It doesn’t matter if you still test low positive on IGG test. Especially if you’ve been abstinent after months.
I can’t find my old comment on this video, but I want to update. I tested at 1.05 equivocal in May 2022. 1.44 Positive in May 2023. 1.09 equivocal in June 2023 through IGG - Quest Diagnostics for hsv2 and negative hsv1. My results from western blot came this morning and I’m negative for both hsv1 and hsv2. October 21st, 2023.
My hsv 1 + 2 IgG score was 4, went to infectious disease doctor he asked for any symptoms now or before i dindint had any...he asked to test sepratley for hsv 1 and hsv 2 IgG....both had come negative ...he said to forget about it and live happily n
Thanks for your video man! I tested positive with HSV2 with a 1.18 the first time. I waited three weeks and tested positive with a 1.1 with no symtoms! I was in complete disbelief. I took a PCR Blood test through my doctor which has proven to be far more accurate and tested negative!! I had no idea about the number of false positves the IGG and IGM gives....Thanks for sharing!!!
I tested for hsv 2 as well… got a 1.89 which states in positive. I was so sad for about a week. My doctor later on called me and told me to take a pcr immediately because it’s the gold standard now to diagnose patient now. Got my pcr back and it was negative thank God. I know the waiting is awful and I’m sorry you’re going through this. I repeated the test and it still came back positive it wasn’t until I did the western blot test that it showed negative. Please get the western blot test.
I got a pull panel test done at questdiagnostics and my igg for HSV1 was 38.00 and had “HIGH” in red letters. I tested negative for HSV2. I was so confused because i don’t get cold sores and my partner showed me his previous tests and he is negative for everything. I was told that I most likely contracted it as a child and my immune system is just so used to dealing with it for decades. That’s mostly why people have super high numbers. However, i recently have switched my diet to alkaline and have been getting retested every 4 weeks and my last results were 35.20igg. I’m continuing the diet until I drop down to the 0s. Then I’ll get the western blot to see if the virus is gone or ny immune response is just lowered. Because igg tests measure your immune response and not the actual virus itself.
A surprising number of people have HSV1 and don't show symptoms. The test could come out either way, but it shouldn't have to affect your lifestyle. "In the United States, an estimated 54 percent of people between the ages of 14 and 49 have HSV-1. Most people with HSV-1 become infected during childhood or adolescence. Not everyone with HSV-1 gets cold sores or has symptoms. Many people with the virus don't even know they're infected."
@@baka-raptor yeah I do understand that and I’m also ready to accept either result. However it is just an experiment that I’m doing on myself. Me going alkaline has changed so many other aspects of my life too. It actually opened my eyes to so many things and the journey has made me love myself even more!
When you go to the 0s because I believe you can, what will you do to prevent yourself from getting it again ? Just asking because I myself am conflicted that you can ask to see someone’s results but that’s not 100 % true
For what it's worth.... took a full STD panel a week ago and my HSV-2 score dropped by half a percentage point. That, coupled with a negative WBT in January (~6 months after exposure) really has me convinced I don't have HSV-2 at all. Good luck all, make good choices. Be smart. Be safe.

I always tested negative for hsv 1 and 2 until having unprotected sex with an ex in 2019. Paranoid, I got tested two months later. It showed hsv 2 positive 1.28. The quest doctors wanted to put me on medicine. I objected due to no symptoms. I got tested a year later 2020 and onwards and it has been equivocal ranges only, with one negative range in February. So I did a confirmatory test with the western blot recently and it was negative. So I believe if you have a low range and never had symptoms it's most likely negative.
@@bingbonggg The initial test and the Western Blot were about 6 months apart. I had one partner during that time, which is why I took the first test. Then we kept our activity to a minimum until I got my Western Blot results back
@Sands_of_Time I agree that there's a high chance of it being a false positive at 1.28. All you can do at this stage is try not to worry and leave it to the test. Good luck!
So I took a WB test after my doctor told me I had been “exposed” to it. After looking at my results, index was a 1.84. I ended up taking a WB around one month later and it came back negative for both HSVs. As of now it is around 8 weeks since my last “encounter”, and no noticeable hsv symptoms have appeared.
@@Jermaine-nl6ys exposure isn’t always the case. From what I’ve heard, some proteins or other antibodies in the blood can accidentally trip the test. To put it short, some stuff in the blood can or will trip the test every time
For about 3 years I have had no contact with anyone no physical and I did a random test because I was curious for hsv1 and hsv2 I got hsv2 negative and hsv1 1.18 positive and I'm pretty sure it's false positive. They keep telling me everyone is different but numbers around 1.1 I haven't heard anyone to be actually positive so I'm gonna assume that and be happy with my life.
Hi I live in Putnam County NY, an hour north of the city and am having such trouble trying to get Optum care to get me a western blot test. I already have the test kit from U of W but I need a provider to draw the blood etc...The infectious disease doctor I saw near me was not able to help me get the western blot test. But for some reason, the folks over at U of W say it's better to just go to NJ now to get help getting the test. There's some kind of difficulty getting a provider to get a person the test in NY state. Anyway, is there anyway you can share what facility you used to get the test when you were in NY? At least that would point me in the right direction. Trying to get through to anyone to get an answer is very difficult. Thanks

Question.... I've had it for 12 years and I had a doctor test me about 3 1/2 years ago he said I was negative. I told him that wasn't right and he did the test 3 more times to rule out inconsistencies. He calls me after doing so and told me all of them reported negative. So is the test not accurate at all?
I guess the best way to put it is that it's more accurate for some people than others. The test is designed to detect the level of a certain type of antibody in your blood, but people vary in exactly how much of the antibody they produce, and similar antibodies may mistakenly be counted as well. If your numbers are really high, chances are that those other factors didn't influence the result, but when your numbers are just above the positive level, those other factors could've been what pushed you over.
Same I had a low hsv 2 positive of 1.13 igg and then equivocal of .93 and another low positive of 1.15 so I took the Western blot test both Hsv 1 & Hsv 2 negative !
They only did the test. You have to ship the sample yourself. There was a FedEx a short walk away on 3rd Avenue between E 69th and E 70th street that I went to. The lab will probably point you to it since they deal with this test often enough.
Hey, I got tested recently and my results for IGM hsv 1/2 value was 4.69 and my IGG value for HSV 1 .91/ HSV2 .91 meaning negative. However, my doc told me that my test for Herpes is positive for recent infection, which means high likelihood that ive have been exposed recently. So these means I have herpes then?

Thanks for responding back man need some advice should I retest in 4 weeks with a new doctor or do the western blot test ? And also what’s a good number to be negative for both hsv 1 & 2 What’s the average range for hsv?
I'm not that familiar with the different types of tests, because the only options available around me were the IgG/IgM test and a test for sores if you have them. If you another type of test is easily available to you, that would probably be easier and cheaper than Western Blot. It may not be as accurate as Western Blot, but a clear result may rule out the necessity for taking the Western Blot test. People often don't receive their numbers if they're negative, but I believe a typical negative value is around 0.20. Typical positive values tend to be above 3.00.
@@baka-raptor thank you sir I made a mistake with the first response I sent you so basically im positive for hsv 1 which is 1.09 but HSV 2 IgG, Type Spec 01 it’s saying that 1.13 High but the index on the paper is saying that for that part I’m 0.00 - 0.90 so I’m not in the bracket for (Index 0.91-5.00) may be false positive and are reflexed to supplemental testing in accordance with CDC guidelines but what I’m not understanding is why dose the paper say for HSV-2IgG Supplemental Test 01 is saying I’m negative then they put a note beside it saying Note: Positive supplemental testing indicates the presence of detectable IgG antibodies to HSV-2. Don't worry, herpes is also in the mouth and both are too common and you can get it even with a condom. Get the PCR, which is a more accurate method than the IGG blood test. if pcr is positive, get western blot when you can for last confirmation. if you get negative in pcr trust that!!
There's no point in taking the IgG test twice if you suspect a false positive. There number shouldn't change much. Any different kind of test, including the PCR test, would be more useful.
Yes, Doctors dont know everything, they all have their own lane and profession, I've been having my own doubts and suspicions about myself, I really don't believe I have Herpes at all, I feel it in my gut, yet I was tested Dec 12th and Diagnosed with HSV 2 through IGG testing on Dec 24th so yup, had a horrible Christmas and I have been feeling disgusted with myself but at the same time concerned with my result. But just to be sure, you said between 1.10 and 3.50 for IGG HSV2 half would be false positive?
Yeah, according to this study: journals.lww.com/stdjournal/Fulltext/2017/12000/Performance_of_Commercial_Enzyme_Linked.9.aspx The study recommends confirmatory testing if your result is under 3.5. Of course, the higher your score is within the 1.1-3.5 range, the lower chance of a false positive. I'm not a doctor and none of this is medical advice by any means, but I'd say it's worth taking the Western Blot if you have reason to doubt your results. Good luck!

Thanks for this video. I recently got a 1.59 on my HSV2 IgG test...every other test was normal; Do you think based on that number it's worth getting a western blot test? For context, my point of exposure was mid-August, it's now end of December 2021 and I've had no evidence of outbreaks/asymptomatic.
The study I read a while back showed a reasonable chance of false positives up to 3.50. At 1.59 with no symptoms, I believe your chance of a false positive is well over 50%. Honestly, my attitude now is that anyone under 2.00 should assume it's a false positive, unless they have physical symptoms or a jump in the value from any previous tests. The Western Blot is probably overkill.
@@baka-raptor Thanks for getting back to me so fast! Out of curiosity, what was the timeframe from your point of exposure, to the std test you took, to the western blot test?
@@bingbonggg my point of exposure was about half a year before I took the IGG blood test. Then I had to wait another half year to get the Western Blot test because I was out of the US. If I'd had the chance, I would've done the Western Blot test much sooner.

@@bingbonggg yeah, or you could go through the Westover Heights Clinic, but you'd be paying out of pocket. Sounds like the scale I used times ten. If we convert it, it's a 1.95, which has a reasonable chance of being a false positive. You should try to take a different kind of test to double check.
I'd say retest but with a different kind of test. Some people have been recommending the PCR test, and I've had good experience with the Western Blot test. Choose whatever is convenient for you.
Hello, I took a igg test and received a 1.89 (positive) the test had a confirmatory test that said positive as well. I spoke to my doctor he sent me for a pcr blood test and which stated hsv 2/1 “ not detected” he said to trust the pcr? What do you guys think? Should I panic or ignore the first test and the confirmatory score ?
The IGG test is susceptible to false positives, and the PCR test is susceptible to false negatives. At your IGG range, I think a false positive is much more likely. If you've never had any physical symptoms, assume the PCR negative result is correct.
@@baka-raptor thank you so much I never had one symptom before nor has my fiancé. I asked my doctor if a western blot is needed, he said no you’re herpes free. So you think I should trust him ?
Hi! How does the Western blot for hsv works? And for WB, is blood sample needed? I am from India and in 2 Centres it was mentioned as "HSV 1&2 IGg antibody test by Western blot Serum" Is that the name of HSV 1 and 2 Western blot test? And can this test differentiate between hsv 1 and hsv 2?
I'm not familiar with the tests centres in India, but it sounds like that's the correct test. The University of Washington test has a similar description. You need to provide a blood sample, and the serum sample is obtained from the blood sample. The test accurately distinguishes between HSV-1 and HSV-2.
I took the Elisa test for hsv 2 ! And I got a borderline score for igm test and a negative score for igg ! I didn’t test positive though ! Do I have it ?
igg is the more reliable number. igm would only indicate if you got it recently. You don't need to worry about taking the Western Blot at this stage. You can take same test again after a few months. If your igg number is still safe, then you probably have nothing to worry about.

Now, if your number for IgG suddenly jumps, let's say from 1.40 to 3.88, then you may have actually caught it. If your number hasn't changed much, then it's just another false positive.
Hey Baka-Raptor. I also live outside of the US. I wanted to to visit New York in a few months and was thinking about taking the WB test then. How was the procedure for you? Do I need a adress inside the US, for example so the University of Washington can ship something there? How did you do it since you live in Japan? Maybe I could get them ship it to the hotel I am staying in... Greetings
I had the test kit delivered to my parent's house in NY. I always knew that was an option, so I never asked if they could ship it internationally. The hotel would probably be fine. I was in NY for 2 weeks in an area I was familiar with, so I never felt rushed or felt like there were any complications with living internationally.
@@baka-raptor sorry for bothering you with my questions. I read on the westoverheights website about the steps if you work with Mrs. Warren. If I understand correctly, what has to be done from my side is to order the kit, get my blood drawn and then send the kit back to the University of Washington, am I right? I am not familar with procedures in the US, but I would say that this could be all done within one day, is that true?
@@coleworld9695 Yes, that's the procedure I went through. I don't remember how long it takes the kit to arrive once you've ordered it, but I imagine it should be ordered at least a week in advance. Getting your blood drawn and sending the kit to the University of Washington can be done in one day. The blood lab I went to in NY (Enzo Clinical Labs - Upper East Side) is a short walk away from a Fedex that handled the shipping. It probably took me 2 hours total for these two tasks.

Terri told I am very likely to be negative but still, the uncertainty is killing me right now and my anxiety is through the roof, and I am only at week one 😅 hopefully I can comment here in 6 months and tell everyone I am also WB negative tested for HSV2...
Yesterday I tested, my HSV-2 IgG was negative but HSV-1 IgG came positive with index 22.5. I am really worried. My last encounter was 3 months back and I also never had any symptoms or outbreaks ever. Can this be a false positive?
False positives are typically between 1.10 and 3.50, so a 22.5 is really high. It's almost suspiciously high. Maybe your test used a different scale? You can try following up with a different test just in case.
@@ullasv Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the Herpeselect test, so I'm not sure what its potential flaws are. The PCR test may have false negatives. In other words, if you're positive, you definitely have it, but if you're negative, there may still be a possibility that you have it.
Hey Baka. I really need your help with the steps of taking the western blot test. It seems pretty difficult as far as shipping and signing off. Please help
I did it through the Westover Heights Clinic. They signed off on it and recommended a clinic in NYC for taking the blood sample. The clinic handled this test fairly often, so they told me how to FedEx it. Unfortunately, if you're located somewhere else, or if you're doing it through your own doctor, I wouldn't know how to help you.
@@baka-raptor so you just received the test , then went there and they signed off on it ? Do you have to already be a patient there in order for them to sign off on it?

Hello i have a range of 38.50 for HSV1 and 1.53 for HSV2 it saw its a false positive and a low im stressed out beyond this world and i want to know if and when should I do a confirmatory test i got those results last week
The HSV2 result has a high chance of being a false positive. The HSV1 result seems really high, I'm not sure if it uses the same scale as HSV2. In any case, I'd get a confirmatory test.
@@tamarisfreeman5775 It depends what's available in your area. Take a different type of test. The Western Blot is the most accurate, but it's relatively expensive and inconvenient. If early HSV-2 infection is suspected, submission of another sample collected 2-3 weeks after this sample is recommended. REFERENCE RANGE: NEGATIVE This assay is intended only for samples giving a positive index in the HSV-2 type-specific IgG screening assay. A POSITIVE inhibition interpretation indicates true HSV-2 specific reactivity, whereas a NEGATIVE inhibition interpretation suggests that the positive screening index is falsely positive. Can you enlighten me ?
@@baka-raptor so in a article you attached in a comment it said exactly this .... Our study demonstrated that sera in the "low positive" index value range (1.1-3.5) by Focus HSV-2 ELISA had the highest proportion of discordant results among 3 tests: Focus, Biokit, and WB. Only 35.2% of low positive sera were positive by all 3 tests. Yes, I'd recommend the Western Blot, or if that's inconvenient, at least some other type of test. Taking the igG again won't show a drastic change. A 1.37 is in the range where there are a significant number of false positives. There's no need to wait unless you suspect you were recently infected.
@@baka-raptor oh okay before I took the test I asked about HSV 1 and 2 they said that they usually do a swab test to be able to detect it. So a blood test will not be accurate? I know I have HSV 1 because I had an outbreak when I was a kid but never had a outbreak for HSV 2
@@Chapitojr swabs are reliable because they test the virus directly, but they will only work on outbreaks. If you don't have outbreaks, the blood can test for the virus indirectly, but that can lead to errors. Having HSV1 is a risk factor for an HSV2 false positive. If you're positive on the PCR, you're definitely positive, but negatives are sometimes false negatives. Basically, it's the opposite problem of the IgG test. If it's easier to access than the Western Blot test, you can take the PCR first. If you still doubt the result, you can take the Western Blot afterwards.

My initial test result was 1.19 but I saw it was barely over the threshold. Luckily I asked the doctor could it be a false positive. They recommend a confirmatory test. Confirmatory testing a few days later had a result of 1.03. But the conclusion on the bottom says Positive type 2 herpes result with negative confirmatory result. For what it's worth.... took a full STD panel a week ago and my HSV-2 score dropped by half a percentage point. That, coupled with a negative WBT in January (~6 months after exposure) really has me convinced I don't have HSV-2 at all. Good luck all, make good choices. Be smart. Be safe.
My heart just keeps thanking you and thanking you Dr ubarlo for all you have done for me , you gave me your words that you could heal any sickness or disease , thank you for permanently curing me of my Genital Herpes you are amazing
If your western blot is negative, you are very very likely negative
I always tested negative for hsv 1 and 2 until having unprotected sex with an ex in 2019. Paranoid, I got tested two months later. It showed hsv 2 positive 1.28. The quest doctors wanted to put me on medicine. I objected due to no symptoms. I got tested a year later 2020 and onwards and it has been equivocal ranges only, with one negative range in February. So I did a confirmatory test with the western blot recently and it was negative. So I believe if you have a low range and never had symptoms it's most likely negative.
Awesome, thanks for sharing!
Just to be clear, your initial test versus your western blot were two years apart? Did you have sex with anyone in between the two tests?
@@bingbonggg yes they were two years apart. I did have sex with 1 other guy but with protection.
Good luck!
My understanding of this is the immune system response.. false positives are really negative
So I took a WB test after my doctor told me I had been “exposed” to it. After looking at my results, index was a 1.84. For about 3 years I have had no contact with anyone no physical and I did a random test because I was curious for hsv1 and hsv2 I got hsv2 negative and hsv1 1.18 positive and I'm pretty sure it's false positive. Sounds like a classic case of a false positive to me.
Thanks
The blood lab I went to was Enzo Clinical Lab Upper West Side. This was a few years ago, so it's possible things have changed. Like any blood lab, they'd require a doctor to sign off on the test before you can get it done. Good luck!

IGG scores tend to be wrong-positive with Herpes 20% of the times but IGM scores are completely useless for HSV. CDC says this on their Website
Thanks for responding back man need some advice should I retest in 4 weeks with a new doctor or do the western blot test ? And also what’s a good number to be negative for both hsv 1 & 2
What’s the average range for hsv?
I'm not that familiar with the different types of tests, because the only options available around me were the IgG/IgM test and a test for sores if you have them. If you another type of test is easily available to you, that would probably be easier and cheaper than Western Blot. It may not be as accurate as Western Blot, but a clear result may rule out the necessity for taking the Western Blot test.
People often don't receive their numbers if they're negative, but I believe a typical negative value is around 0.20. Typical positive values tend to be above 3.00.

But just to be sure, you said between 1.10 and 3.50 for IGG HSV2 half would be false positive?
Yeah, according to this study: journals.lww.com/stdjournal/Fulltext/2017/12000/Performance_of_Commercial_Enzyme_Linked.9.aspx
The study recommends confirmatory testing if your result is under 3.5. Of course, the higher your score is within the 1.1-3.5 range, the lower chance of a false positive. I'm not a doctor and none of this is medical advice by any means, but I'd say it's worth taking the Western Blot if you have reason to doubt your results. Good luck!

igg is the more reliable number. igm would only indicate if you got it recently. You don't need to worry about taking the Western Blot at this stage. You can take same test again after a few months. If your igg number is still safe, then you probably have nothing to worry about.

Tested positive on IGG, then took a WB. Got the results came out negative for HSV 2. However last week took another IGG test, came out positive. Did you notice you keep testing positive on IGG, after WB was negative?
I haven't taken the IgG test since my WB test 4 years ago, but it makes perfect sense that the IgG would keep yielding false positives. Whatever's in your blood stream that caused it to misread antibodies the first time around would still be there. Now, if your number for IgG suddenly jumps, let's say from 1.40 to 3.88, then you may have actually caught it. If your number hasn't changed much, then it's just another false positive.

I had the test kit delivered to my parent's house in NY. I always knew that was an option, so I never asked if they could ship it internationally. The hotel would probably be fine. Yes, I'd recommend the Western Blot, or if that's inconvenient, at least some other type of test. Taking the igG again won't show a drastic change. A 1.37 is in the range where there are a significant number of false positives. There's no need to wait unless you suspect you were recently infected.

@@Chapitojr swabs are reliable because they test the virus directly, but they will only work on outbreaks. If you don't have outbreaks, the blood can test for the virus indirectly, but that can lead to errors.

You just need to go with one recommended by your doctor or keep calling around. Unfortunately there's no easy way to do it in some places.

Hsv 2 igg Herpeselect with réflex test is like the westernblot test?
Herpeselect is unreliable. "The most commonly used test, HerpeSelect HSV-2 enzyme immunoassay (EIA), often is falsely positive at low index values (1.1-3.0)"
@@baka-raptor in November 2022 I took the igg test (liaison diasorin) and got hsv1 1.51 and hsv2 1.49, in August 8 months later, I took the same test only for hsv 2 and it went up to 1.96
@@Ares4c Still a good chance it's a false positive. Usually the numbers vary slightly between tests.
Hi baka, me again, I took a quest inhibition test and it was equivocal 1.07, I waited and I didn't send the westerblot since it is my last bullet If I have symptoms then I will take it I think.
What you think bro?
I tested for hsv1 igg 1.67 positive. Is this a false positive or accurate?
Could be either one. 1.67 is low enough that it could definitely be a false positive if you have no physical symptoms.
Ik im replying late but i forgot mention i haven’t experienced any symptoms at all ever since i found it my 1.67 for hsv1 igg so if I haven’t experienced any symptoms at all, most likely a false positive right?
@@jalenwhite5976 At those numbers with no physical symptoms, I'd say there's about a 70-80% chance that it's a false positive.
What about the rapid test? Is that accurate?
Sorry, I don't know much about it, but generally speaking, any suspicious positive should be followed up by a Western Blot test.
Not its not. You should try the elisa test and if positive it needs to be followed up by a western blot test

Hey man ! Great video. After a 12 week negative IgG I still feel uneasy and I just ordered my western blot test. I have a few questions:
1. How long did it take from when you sent the bloodwork to get the results?
2. Did you go to a primary care physician or a lab to get this test done? I’m in nyc too so maybe I can go to the same place you went
Hi! After sending in the bloodwork I got a response in about 3 weeks. The lab I went to was Enzo Clinical Lab Upper East Side (44 East 67th St.). They knew exactly what to do once I got there. Just make sure you go to your primary care physician first if you haven't already, since they can only do the test under a doctor's order.
Got herpes 2 years ago from a cheating ex boyfriend, if not for dr ikoni what would i have done thank you and God bless you i just got my test result i'm hsv2 negative....
Hii bro HSV Dna pcr in blood is correct test for hsv or not
If you're positive on the PCR, you're definitely positive, but negatives are sometimes false negatives. Basically, it's the opposite problem of the IgG test. If it's easier to access than the Western Blot test, you can take the PCR first. If you still doubt the result, you can take the Western Blot afterwards.
@@baka-raptor I am in India bro in India don't have Western blot
@@magesh-bs3yz then the PCR is a good option
@@baka-raptor yes hsv DNA PCR qualitative test nu blood this result is not detected.
I tested positive 1.09 should I get retested
I got retested with an even higher number. Your chance of a false positive is really high. I'd either get retested or just assume the test was wrong.
I tested positive for HSV igG 2.54 and igM negative 0.09 , but no symptoms and I truly thought that it might be a false positive.. Plss reply me either I have chance to be getting a false positive result..
My all other STD test are negative.. But I don't know why this test come postive.
It still may be a false positive. False positives are common up to 3.50.
@@baka-raptor Which test I use other than antibody test for confirmation?
Western blot or PCR??
@@adityamalik1287 I've only taken the Western Blot, but I've heard good things about the PCR. Choose whichever for be more convenient for you.
@@baka-raptor Is a western blot test 100% accurate after 2 months of exposure or I have to wait for more weeks??
@@adityamalik1287 Wait 3 months to be safe.
Recommended retest in 2-4 weeks to confirm false positive result. Should I just go straight for the western blot test?
That seems like the right move to me. Taking the same test again will just keep giving you numbers in that grey zone.
@@baka-raptor thanks

Hope you are still active any update ?
I score a 1.07 is that consider low positive ?
That's considered to be in an indeterminate range. A little higher and it would be considered positive.

Hello, i hope you’re still active in the comments. A year ago, I tested positive for HSV2 IGG 4.13.. a few months ago I tested again positive iGG 3.89 ... what does a lowering number mean?
A lot of people seem to have slight changes in the numbers each time they take the test. It's probably not a significant change.
Oh okay.. Thanks for the reply. I’m glad you’ve gotten everything figured out and that you don’t have herpes! I’ve been diagnosed since last year and it’s is traumatizing emotionally and mentally, lol
Hello? Have you been having symptoms of it? If you don’t mind me asking
Stay True nope. never had an outbreak *knocks on wood* .. and i’ve had it for two years now. if I wouldn’t have gotten tested I don’t think I would have ever known I had it
