In this video I am making a gent's bi-fold wallet from Horween Chromexcel leather. If you would like to make one my pattern and tutorial are available to buy from the link above :)

It's brilliant to see you using Horween - I used to live inner-city Chicago - my first apartment was a mile and a half northwest of Horween and my second apartment was about 3 miles south. Their leather is in a league of its own. Excellent work Ian!

Do you have any tips on burnishing Chromexcel? I seem to have a hard time burnishing them with beeswax.

so I already stained a single shoulder of good top grain suitable for a wallet and I'm wondering if its ok to still groove my pieces later then stitch them up I'm just worried when I make the groove the stitch wont cover all the fresh leather thats been exposed... should I paint some more stain in before I stitch just along the groove?

I've been using the spindle mounted Cocobolo burnisher for about 6 months. It's nice but it's not the be-all and end-all.
Is the hand-held any improvement to the Tandy model ?

why hammer the glue
I saw him hammering the stitching down in to the stitching groove to prevent the thread getting worn, I expect he hammers glued leather the flatten it.
