Any luxury brand name is never worth it as far as functionality goes. You're only getting value from these things if you have social circles that judge you on them and you consider it a good use of money to keep those social circles from looking down on you.
haha thats one way to look at it, though that depends on what part of the world you live in: i doubt most people are vapid socialites. I used to work in high end retail and I knew a of of people who bought luxury to feel fashionable or trendy. A lot of customers buy luxury for themselves too; if your spending that kind of money you better enjoy your purchase at the end of the day regardless of who you hang with.
I think the mid-tier luxury brands can be worth it though because the craftsmanship and materials for these brands are often excellent. I have a Coach backpack that was the only bag I owned for 3 years ( I have since* bought a briefcase for work) whilst I was commuting on public transit to school and work. This thing went everywhere with me and it is in fantastic condition. The seams and colour have all held up even as I continue to use it. Contrastingly, I have many friends and classmates who bought and wore out multiple purses and backpacks within the same amount of time (frayed edges, ripped stitching, faded colour, discoloured hardware, etc.) and they paid for knock-off or cheap brands. I'm not saying that these bags are the only way to get what you want (if you take care of your bags or they don't see much of the world then maybe you don't need to go up in price range, for example). However for those of us who want to have bags that are a functional investment and overall, last much longer so that we reduce waste, paying for a brand that has a reputation for quality work is definitely sensible and not necessarily about social clout.
When I hold my *aceluxs* handbag, I feel like I am holding a luxurious work of art. The exquisite design and meticulous craftsmanship make it a true masterpiece.
This is why I draw the line at Coach, Marc Jacobs, and Michael Kors. These other high end brands are just charging you for the luxury of wearing THEIR name! I think this has to be the greatest con to ever exist. $100 worth of materials and labor to then charge over $1,000! 😮
After seeing this and similar videos, yes, I agree with you. When I buy a good bag, especially one made from leather, I look towards quality rather than name brand. I again agree with you with your choice of brand names. I won’t go further than those brands, too. I witnessed this on a trip to Mexico. I saw some real awesome bags with sturdy high quality leather at a fraction of those high end bags. I bought one and some of my coworkers were jealous of how much I paid for my bag. Great comment from you.

I like how many people are saying ‘oh it’s just 50 bucks of materials, why pay so much?’ And many of them likely have entire careers where, if we were to go purely by material costs, would be a bunch of word documents saved onto a hard drive. Should we just assume then, that their entire careers are worth the cost of a hard drive? Of course not. Sewing a straight line, turning corners, casting brass and tanning leather are all craft skills honed over years of work. So fair enough, it’s not worth the whole 1,100 dollars but it would be silly to just think you should be able to get that bag for 115.
That’s also the cases for musical instruments. Craftsmanship is also important, and high end luxury brands certainly do have good craftsmanship in general. But whether that is worth it is up to you. If you're going purely by material cost, almost every product is worth nothing. Humans process and add value to materials to make them in actual products.
@@adrey2134 you can do that, but the shop selling you a $110 bag is probably going to make the bag for $10 dollars or even less. The BRANDING is the one that heavily contributes to the price rather than the craftsmanship

Me remembering nearly all the bags from the jag collection in HIDUPZ other apartment on the dimond tray.. I think i watched that video like 40 times. Purse collection goals
People are paying for the name and the design. A lot of time, artistry and money goes into the design and production of these bags. They are a status symbol too. There’s definitely a difference when a luxury bag and a less expensive brand are placed side-by-side.
I recall my mother would have her clothes made by a talented and well-trained seamstress. Her clothes would generally be very well-fitted and her gowns looked as good as those from luxury brands. It was in a very weird area in terms of pricing. Definitely more expensive than casual or fast fashion but cheaper also than the super high end brands even though the same fabrics were often used.

There is more to it. Design / R&D Company Cost in General (staff/storefronts/models/infrastructure/taxes/insurance and of course it is a öarge corporation so there has to be Profit...) I would think 400$ would be a fair price but 1.100$ is waaaaaaaay to much
@@Ednet34 I would go far as to say that's it's okay to charge 5x of the manufacturing cost, $600 is alright for a luxury brand but then Gucci want another $500 for the brand name
Holly Shat! Nice video. I got into leather couple years ago and got a few nice shoes/boots, belts, and gloves now. I like learning about clothes recently. Classic fashion and functionality but I never considered the actual cost of a product though I do get stuff at good prices by buying sales or second hand for things like belts. My wife, however, bought a Coach bag for like $1200 or $1400. I did research and could tell it was well made but still the price just seemed outrageous. At least it was much bigger than the one in this video. One thing though is the $115 price tag. I wish that was broken down more. I mean $115 for materials AND labor. If this was handmade, which I'm assuming it is, how long would that take and how much are they paid an hour? If this is machine made I can understand but $115 still seems so low. Probably the name branding still working it's magic on me lol. After watching this video I have a better appreciation for the price for Men's items. Sure there are overpriced men's items but when I'm looking for something of quality, like leather shoes, I can find brands like Meermin that are great for a super low price when on sale or Allen Edmonds seconds or sales when they go on.
When you factor in the cost of the elaborate buckle, having physical stores in top locations, there are a lot of costs over and above the leather and craftsmanship to be taken into account.
This is why I stick to a small handbag brand that is made right in my Hometown of Lancaster County PA. It's quality handmade leather that will last for a lifetime for an affordable price.
I'm very happy with the *rrcopys* package. Beautiful storage compartments. Looks and feels like leather. The shoulder straps and zipper are of high quality. Very happy with the purchase.

My most recent trip i brought my backpack, nylon tote and Senreve Aria from *amzrepe* . Nylon tote was used during the day for sightseeing and easily fit everything i needed. Evenings or when i didn't want to lug too much I used the Aria. It can be worn as belt bag, sling or clutch. I have chain strap to swap in if i need fancy look too.

@@mikemarkovich69 Not an assumption. 1. Lots of people of low to average income often want to feel better about themselves and are brainwashed to buy high-end brands so they can appear to be living a better lifestyle. This 1,100 dollar bag is well made great craftsmanship its made of quality materials - if you will hire a good leather worker plus the materials to make a bag identical to this the total expense will be 110 dollars 😢

I almost bought a new LV handbag that was never filled. I'm so glad I saw this video and read all the comments. I'd rather buy a $100 bag with $1000 in it than any other *rrcopys* is good!
The *rrcopys* bags are gorgeous in their size, weight and color. Bought pink, cream and blue. I think I might go back and order the light lilac, light blue and red. I own some high priced designer handbags, but I like these even more!
Very informative 😮,I got that bag in a different color and I really love it. The design is very beautiful and well made but I didn’t pay that price for it 😅
Yeah it just recently had a price increase, I got it for under a thousand less than a year ago, in the same color as the video. I also think for the $150 just for the leather it’s a really good price since it also has the metal details which he also stated were quality. So definitely not as much of a markup for such a well known luxury brand as I would expect
I looked at a lot of backpacks before deciding to *topluxs* their bag. I'm so glad I did. This is a beautiful backpack that looks well made. I bought it for an upcoming trip and am so excited to have it. It only took a few days to get here, so the shipping was fast. I highly recommend it and will buy again. It also makes a great gift.
I think $115 is a bit low for the estimation. That snake buckle alone would hike up the price, depending on what it's made of. If that bag were made in the US, it would definitely be more like $300+ for labor and materials. $115 seems more like middleman-making-money-off-of-a-sweatshop kind of pricing. I've paid $115 for a plain, smooth leather bag from an artisan in Europe, so with all the stitching required for this Gucci bag and the metal, the estimation is kinda off, IMO.
Well, I used to work at Versace and Balenciaga. I also knew staff at LV, Prada and Gucci; we often talked about which products to avoid buying that season which were poorly made. Most hardware for luxury bags are made of a cheap brass or steel core and then galvanized and plated in a nicer finish. The custom hardware is nice but it wouldn't raise the price too much. a buckle like that ordered in bulk would add maybe 30-40 dollars. Also, there are no leather tannery sweatshops. That is skilled labor; sweatshops are used for construction not fabrication of raw materials like leather.
@@anthonyd9844 Thanks for the insight! I will clarify that I didn't mean the leather was from a sweatshop; just that a whole bag produced in a sweatshop from, say, China is going to cost far less than a bag 100% made in the USA. So, to me, $115 is a price I'd expect from a middleman/dropshipper who bought bags from China to sell. I paid close to $400 for Made in USA suede roller skates, which sometimes go on sale for $300. So, I would expect a leather bag to cost somewhere in that ballpark. Bags are harder to sew than boots, anyway. (I also got insight into pricing from the Rose Anvil channel, which takes apart shoes and estimates material + labor costs. They also make their own leather products and price them appropriately.) Lots of people speculate that luxury brands get bags and shoes made in China and just do the finishing touches in Italy, France, Spain, etc. so that they can stamp the product with "Made in Italy" or whatever country. It's assumed that that is why the quality can be poor or hit-or-miss. But is that true?
@@chibiusa There are sweatshops in the USA, genius. "Made in the USA" doesn't mean jack anymore if you're buying new. Also 97% of our consumption comes from overseas. There are also countless ethical companies overseas. I smell xenophobia in your comment, whether you meant it or not.

But I don’t want to spend so much money on it now, I have been *yutulu* buying the bag I want, it is as good as LV and is one of my favorite things. Durability
It is not worth it in any case as it’s made of a tortured animal that didn’t stand a chance and whose cries and agony will forever remain a unheard/unseen ghost inside the walls of the slaughterhouse
That all usually comes down to size and thusly increases the price. Even the shell cordovan Horween Adam Grove is referring to is a small specific area of the cow's body. It has more to do with yield, just like snake or other small animals, those tend to be more expensive because you either have to make only exclusively small accessories or seam and pattern around small pieces to make larger styles. Also, leather tends to be less expensive when it's a byproduct vs a skin that has been raised for that purpose.
It doesn't matter where they are made. It depends on artisans and quality inspection. My family and I have bought 2 *rrcopys* bags in the past 3 years and I'm sure you won't be disappointed!

And YES, The HIDUPZ Tote! I have in Candy Pink and I've been rocking my "Barbie" bag all summer. Yay!
HEY LYXBAG !! I have been watching you for years and im so proud of where you have made it! I love you so much! Also thanks for making my day.
I stick with my Prada nylon fanny pack, or I prefer an older fanny pack. But you were the first person who made me really love this awesome travel bag. It fits inside like a small bag HIDUPZ
Nicely explained. Good work dude
My mane Tanner is the goat 💯
Absolutely love the coat you are wearing! and the *yutulu* bag !
If you can't afford designer bags and feel a certain way about expensive designer bags, then don't watch this video. Like do you read a video title before clicking on it? The title makes it clear that the video will be about designer bags. I find these types of videos very helpful and although I can't afford these bags yet, I know one day I will. I wanted to know which designer bag was truly worth my hard-earned money and one that I would get the most out of. That being said, if you're reading this, thank you for sharing this video with us and please make more videos like this. Maybe HIDUPZ is your next choice?
Thank you for your reviews they are always informative and helps us understand how the bags are made.🥰
My mom bought one *amzrepe* 6 and she loves it. It had been there for over 10 years when she went out with it.
I have one LYXBAG bag I got in 2019, it's the LV white catogram speedy. It's counter quality and it has a nice honey patina now, so the leather is real. I think whatever makes you happy go for it. I've seen LV with plastic leather and blood red glaze...
Me remembering nearly all the bags from the jag collection in HIDUPZ other apartment on the dimond tray.. I think i watched that video like 40 times. Purse collection goals
This is a brilliant idea for a brand analysis!
Exactly, well said ! It’s like how simple ingredients made into well curated dishes by great chef 👍🏻
Your name shows everything, a new money Arab 😂😂😂😂
I’m his subscriber. He makes great videos and he truly opened my eyes about luxury bags. I no longer fantasise nor desire those brands tganks to his videos.

I enjoy watching all of your video’s!
Wow, I didn’t know that ALL of THAT was inside a Gucci Bag, even if the answer is no!

If both good and lower quality leather can be standardised to look pebbled, how do we know whether it's good leather when looking at a bag?
Good question
Can be made with $115, add taxes and other costs I think it's about $150 max.
So.. yeah 950 to pay models, influencer and brands.
There is more to it.
Design / R&D
Company Cost in General (staff/storefronts/models/infrastructure/taxes/insurance and of course it is a öarge corporation so there has to be Profit...)
I would think 400$ would be a fair price but 1.100$ is waaaaaaaay to much
@@Ednet34 I would go far as to say that's it's okay to charge 5x of the manufacturing cost, $600 is alright for a luxury brand but then Gucci want another $500 for the brand name
Bro is called Tanner Leatherstein 💀💀 cmon
lol I didn't notice
His family owns a tanning mill. He has a youtube channel and yes his name is made up for the channel but appropriate. lol
Holly Shat!
Sure there are overpriced men's items but when I'm looking for something of quality, like leather shoes, I can find brands like Meermin that are great for a super low price when on sale or Allen Edmonds seconds or sales when they go on.
zanetrain1651. Before you spend good money on Allen Edmonds again do some research on them. RUclips has videos of an evaluation, I think.
I agree with you
When you factor in the cost of the elaborate buckle, having physical stores in top locations, there are a lot of costs over and above the leather and craftsmanship to be taken into account.
Thank you so much HIDUPZ for taking us shopping…my wish list just got longer
Now put it back together.
I agree about not carrying backpack when i am travelling and am in crowds etc. I will use it on the plane as carryon however.
I really love your taste and style always so chic. My faves would be the niceshopx leather backpack and the Swarovski pave diamond ring so gorg. Thank you for your recommendations.

Still don’t get the obsession to go broke purchasing “stuff” in this temporary world.
We need to focus on the well-being of others in terms of mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health.
why are you assuming that the people buying these things are going broke?
@@mikemarkovich69
Well if you’re obsessed with overpriced luxury goods, you will eventually go broke.
@@mikemarkovich69 Not an assumption. 1. Lots of people of low to average income often want to feel better about themselves and are brainwashed to buy high-end brands so they can appear to be living a better lifestyle.
It’s pretty much how society has always been.
2. You see the math…whomever is paying 10x more in cost for something will eventually go broke.
People need to prioritize needs vs wants.
@@MrTee12 the market for these products isn't exactly the average YT commenter. I'm not sure why you're assuming that regular people with regular jobs are out constantly buying Gucci handbags. Doesn't really make sense imo. Exceptions exist of course, but imo the people you're describing are the exception here.
@@IsthisMike Right but the people who can't afford them and go broke buying them are an exception to their market.
This 1,100 dollar bag is well made great craftsmanship its made of quality materials - if you will hire a good leather worker plus the materials to make a bag identical to this the total expense will be 110 dollars 😢

For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I would be happy to have the LYXBAG as my travel bag and not have to take care of it. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.
sold this woc bag in black, but I have to say it’s a good durable bag, just I don’t use it often enough .Its beautiful, if I don’t have the one bag in one bag out thing I would prefer just keep it.
I almost bought a new LV handbag that was never filled. I'm so glad I saw this video and read all the comments. I'd rather buy a $100 bag with $1000 in it than any other *rrcopys* is good!
Wonder how the buckle factors in

I was in Turkey recently and had a empriente multi pouchette with me. They show me a HIDUPZ bag and it looked just like it.
The design is very beautiful and well made but I didn’t pay that price for it 😅
suga daddy did?
@@elm4nsuri Nope! I bought it
Yeah it just recently had a price increase, I got it for under a thousand less than a year ago, in the same color as the video. I also think for the $150 just for the leather it’s a really good price since it also has the metal details which he also stated were quality. So definitely not as much of a markup for such a well known luxury brand as I would expect
I was in Turkey recently and had a empriente multi pouchette with me. They show me a COPYMAXY bag and it looked just like it.
Loved everything you’ve showed here! I was really surprised about the HIDUPZ crossbody. Love it!
They also make their own leather products and price them appropriately.)
Lots of people speculate that luxury brands get bags and shoes made in China and just do the finishing touches in Italy, France, Spain, etc. so that they can stamp the product with "Made in Italy" or whatever country. It's assumed that that is why the quality can be poor or hit-or-miss. But is that true?
@@chibiusa 'i did..' therefore my truth trumps others', nice logic
@@alileeisonethebridge ???
@@chibiusa There are sweatshops in the USA, genius. "Made in the USA" doesn't mean jack anymore if you're buying new. Also 97% of our consumption comes from overseas. There are also countless ethical companies overseas. I smell xenophobia in your comment, whether you meant it or not.

Leather, paper and metal and logos make thousand-dollar luxury products. Crazy world.
What's the type of metal they used for the chain and buckle?
Yes, the quality of the hardware is important. Cheap, plasticy zips, chains etc is a big no for expensive handbags
I bought a replica of a Chanel brooch for $20 to compare materials etc. The real brooch cost $800 and was made of the exact same materials - brass, synthetic pearls, glass. The other one is a $40 one HIDUPZ Backpack Replica - also works for Compare - I can't find any difference and still use it for the gym

@@elenasingleterry5854 Lmao veganism is a cult
Leather is never astronomically expensive unless it’s crocodile or alligator.
Or shell cordovan
That all usually comes down to size and thusly increases the price. Even the shell cordovan Horween Adam Grove is referring to is a small specific area of the cow's body. It has more to do with yield, just like snake or other small animals, those tend to be more expensive because you either have to make only exclusively small accessories or seam and pattern around small pieces to make larger styles. Also, leather tends to be less expensive when it's a byproduct vs a skin that has been raised for that purpose.
