This takes me back almost sixty years to leathercraft in jr. high shop class. Mr. Johns would have given you an A+. I enjoy your projects and their presentation. First class.
I made a very similar wallet myself based on your design. It's been an amazing wallet for personal use, I added in an extra flap for a windowed ID slot and I made the card slot shorter on the 4 1/2" side so it was more of a cover than a full slot because I had some trouble making mine easily accessible. All in all a great piece you designed, thanks for the video!
beautiful wallet! the rounded edges are a nice touch. for my personal taste I liked the raw chunkiness of the square edge to show off the thickness of that full grain leather. i would guess most viewers probably like the finished look. the great thing about making your own is making it your way! great video! thanks!
it took me almost 20 minutes to find your comment! I just wasn't getting the pun & then your comment from 4 years ago saved me from insanity! thank you so much
+Greg's Garage Thanks! While I was working with the leather I was day dreaming about all of the picnics and cookouts that single cow might have been to...
Brian Oltrogge any possible way you sell one like this, I have one almost exactly like this but it doesn’t have the bill fold. Which I fell in love with. Please please in anyway could I buy this wallet from you.
Hey, sorry for the late comment! That wallet looks great. I’m not a big fan of that particular design for a wallet, but the craftsmanship is amazing. I love how you used basic tools to create a product that is finished so nicely. It helps build more motivation for beginners like me. Thanks for sharing.
I kept waiting to see the MacDonald's logo some where. I was at the end before I caught on to what you meant by hamburger wrapper. Great video and great project.
Hey Brian. any chance we could get more content. the quality of your work and attention to detail is phenomenal. every video i watch only makes me want to watch more. thx for your contributions.
Agree, your videos and work product are incredible. This is one of the channels I watch as soon as you release content. Understand how time intensive it is making videos though. Do you have the patreon?
Bit late on the reply to this as I just saw the video, but he was completely honest with his title. He did use a piece of burger wrapper for making a wallet. Natural burger wrapper. After all, doesn't the skin wrap around what will one day become said burger? ;)
Great wallet and video! Your work is always so well done. And the AvE reference was on point! As was the hamburger wrapper - that one took me a second though.
I can't believe people disliked this vid. What's up with that? This was a great video tutorial, nice closeup shots, and clear voice work. Beautiful wallet too!
I don't have leather, but lots of denim. I will try this in a double layer of heavy denim. Maybe use some red canvas for the inside. THANKS for the inspiration.
Lol.. Love it. I get weird looks from people when I'm taking video or pictures and drop a fyf or if I'm just trying to concentrate and I drop in fyf LOL Awesome.. Subed...
Very nice, love the cash pocket!!! Awesome video, just letting you l am going to borrow your cash pocket idea for my credit card wallet that l make!! I am a barber by trade but a leather worker hobbyist at night when l get home from work.
+Bryan Rector That is great news! You don't need a lot of tools to do leather work! There are a lot of tutorials online but I like to keep things simple... next thing you know you'll have your own booth at the next renaissance festival! :)
Wished there was a way I could just buy one from you. Hand crafted made by a human. I know it would cost more then the store bought ones (crap ass china wallets) but the one you did is just what I like to carry. Simple and solid leather. Cheers from California
The title really threw me off, I was sharpening my pitchfork and ready to compose an angry post about click bait and whatnot... Then it hits me like a train and could not contain a chuckle. Well played sir. The wallet was certainty beautiful, I'm definitely going to make one for myself. Thanks!
+Josuel Servin Thank you for your comment! No baiting intended :). It actually never occurred to me that people might rather see a McDouble wrapper turned into some kind of useless wallet rather than a tongue-in-cheek jab at 'upcycling' through satire :).
Thank you for doing this in "fast forward" OH, how I wish more people would do this for instructional vids!!! They waste my limited bandwidth and my time. AWESOME video!
You sir have some skills, that's for sure. I am particularly envious of your CNC ability, it would be so useful for me sometimes. Only just discovered you. A well deserved sub and thumbs up from me buddy. Keep up the excellent work.
Finally someone on youtube who does basic leather work, and actually finishes their edges! really nice wallet!
This takes me back almost sixty years to leathercraft in jr. high shop class. Mr. Johns would have given you an A+. I enjoy your projects and their presentation. First class.
I was searching for ideas on making an electrician's tool bag and tripped over your video. Glad I did. Will be checking out the rest of your channel.

You have amazing skills. What a stunning design in simplicity, but elegance.
Nothing like watching a craftsman at work with old timey music in the background. :p
Wow, Leather is an actual wrapper for hamburger...........You Sir, are a genius! 💯
it took me almost 20 minutes to find your comment! I just wasn't getting the pun & then your comment from 4 years ago saved me from insanity! thank you so much
Simplified handsome wallet . Nicely done !
Took me awhile to solve the riddle of the wrapper. LOL. Great looking piece.
+Greg's Garage Thanks! While I was working with the leather I was day dreaming about all of the picnics and cookouts that single cow might have been to...
Brian Oltrogge here I was thinking it was a click bait title. Well done.
I still didn't get it !
Berkeley Jones Hamburger is usually beef. Beef is cow. The leather he used is cowhide.

That looks lovely. Really nice and simple design.
It may be simple but there is a lot of detail work on that dude. Very cool.

+Bryan Rector That is great news! You don't need a lot of tools to do leather work! There are a lot of tutorials online but I like to keep things simple... next thing you know you'll have your own booth at the next renaissance festival! :)
I am hoping I can come up with something respectable. You have a ton of talent and skills with all of this stuff you are into.
Great build.
There is something so satisfying about watching a sharp edge beveler that's rounds fresh leather
Very nice one I love it and it is very simple

I watched the whole thing and then wondered 'where the was the McDonalds wrapper?'
Then I got it.

+Ben Botanel When I was trying it out first on those close to me... "Where does hamburger come from?"
"McDonalds"
"Well yes, but before that.." :)

It's made of a hamburger wrapper, aka leather which wraps around a cow :)

Practice makes perfect. It's a beauty.
