You are correct. I am from the neighboring town of Port Maria. Hurricane Allen had destroyed houses along that stretch of road we call Wilderness in Galina. I personally would not live there. I would just use it for entertainment.
This home was poorly built from top to bottom.Truly not worth the price.!!!
The builder ripped the owner off. CLEARLY, there was no design involved. Not sure where the ball was dropped, but sometimes our Jamaican contractors tend to do their own thing when your back is turned. I designed a house for my mother, it was just over 7,000 sq. ft and when we arrived during the midpoint phase you wouldn't believe the stuff that was done. He was putting up walls everywhere like it was going to a tenement house. We asked him and he said he couldn't imagine that only one person would be living there so he was making the space useable. We had to stzrt knocking out walls left and right to finally begin to give the interior some shape. Despite the poor buidling in this video, I would say the homeowner got off cheap. At least it was finished. I have seen so many homes left unfinished, and i always wondered why. But through my experience, I came to understand why. One day I was talking with one on the building material suppliers he asked if it was a hotel I wzs building. I told him no just a house. He asked because of all the materials and supplies that were ordered. As it turned out, the guy built his girlfriend a house for herself and one for himself from our materials. So, I can only imagine the frustration and heartbreak that many overseas Jamaicas have when they return home and see thatafter all the money that was sent, their house is still far from being finished. So many just give up. Thankfully, I had the resources to finish the house after firing his butt. The sad thing is these people no matter how much they steal are always poor in the end. Didn't mean to rant, but seeing this house just reminds me of all the things that can go wrong to end up with such a barren feel in a house.

This is my biggest fear regarding building in Jamaica...you'll have to pay for 2 or 3 houses and you're only getting one.
I totally agree with you. The same exact thing happened to me. Never build a house in JA by just sending money to contractors from overseas. They’ll rip you off. I learned the hard way and almost ended up penny less with an unfinished house! Luckily I went to JA in time to fire the contractor who robbed me and finish my house myself. Lesson learned.
Absolutely stunning views and a well-situated house. It just needs a keen, creative eye to decorate the interior and landscape the exterior to make it a lovely, entertaining beach home
Light weight construction .Will be blown away with the hurricanes but some people don't mind playing catch up with constant repairs if they have the skills

This house looks like the builder fell asleep on the job. It lacks the wow effect, the finish is sloppy. The style is ....lackluster...the ocean is beautiful though.

This house surprised me. Its really amazing i love the layout. Yes the decor needs updating. But apart from that this is a lovely home. Ive always wanted a beachfront property in jamaica. Nice property, spectacular ocean view. The main kitchen needs a major upgrades it's lacking the wow feel.
Perfect location facing the ocean but again, the landscaping needs a facelift. I want perfectly landscaped green grass around the property and a better looking driveway.

Beautiful property especially on the inside. I love the view from the balcony. Just listening to the waves crashing onshore would be heavenly. I don’t like the grey paint on the outside at all.

Disappointed in the floor plan and glow of the home. Seems like a lot of the design decisions was an afterthought after construction began. I love that fact though that it is next to the ocean front and gets a lovely water view.

Hurricane Allen destroyed every property in that area called Wilderness in Galina. I would not live there. Yes for entertainment, but I would not risk living there during any major Hurricane.

This place looks very slap-dash, like it was made by a "Cobbler".... Waaaaay overvalued and unfinished. The bare bones are workable, but will take a lot of correcting and redesign, and money to make it your own.... Beautiful sea view and natural breeze though

There is something peculiar about this house, that I don't get and something is not right. There is no esthetic or anything enviting of the front. This hiusebis bare and unfinished. The kitchen or tge lack there of SUCKS. I like that tile design..

Wow, that is a big ripped off. Ugly! I have been watching videos in St.Thomas and the contractors there built the homes with excellent architectural design. That builder should be suing the contractors.

This house is terrible. Maybe because it’s not finished. It looks like they used cheap materials. Nothing grand about this house at all for $500K. Kitchen is terrible! Is that a joke?
The view is great, however, this house has another $100K of work, required to get it to par. The colors are terrible. Did they get a sale on the paint? Bedrooms have no closet. This is terrible. No AC, the list goes on and on of all the work still needed, not to mention to no parking, no garage, no paving for parking at all. I can only image the potential mechanical issues that exist in this house. This house was build very cheap. Nothing beautiful about this house at all, accept the location. Who the hell, is going outside to do laundry?

Please don't purchase this house it's definitely in a flood zone. Look around it's not many home guess why? During the hurricane season the sea reaches over the road way & much further. I 1975 my friend was living on the other side and she got flooded out. Check with your local no parish council buying. Talk to anyone in that community & will tell you the same thing. PLEASE Don't BUY THIS WASTE OF MONIES
Keith I am from Port Maria the town after Galina. All you are saying is true. Hurricane Allen destroyed everything in that flood prone area. I would not live there
