A few people have commented about washing the rice. This step is not necessary especially using Cuisine® Parboiled Rice. If Renee was going for a more grainy, less starchy end product it would have been a necessary step to achieve that texture in the dish but that wasn't the case here. As always thank you for watching, we truly appreciate your feedback. 🙏🏾💯
Even so all these rice we get here locally needs to be washed or atleast sort it (for the lack of words) cause it usually have pebbles in the rice.....
Hii Renee ....I made for my boyfriend...following each step off yr instructions and it came out amazing and quite delicious...My boyfriend had this many times before ...it was my first time preparing this recipe and he was like " this is the best bhagi rice I ever tasted "....making it again today...thanks alot 🤗🤗
I haven't swallowed saliva like this before besides when I stand waiting in line at subway. I admire how you guys and girls highlight these common dishes as well. The dish looks tasty. I dont understand what seems to be the big issue of the rice not being washed. Any cook would tell you washing the rice can play a integral role in texture of the rice. I cook alot and I do not wash my rice when Im making any sort of mixed rice as well as pelau. A great video and amazing results! Say hi to Renee for me 😊
Thank you for that. A lot of people are accustomed to washing the rice in preparation but they may not fully understand why its done. You are very correct in citing the role it plays in texture. Will definitely deliver the salutations 😁
I so love your cooking so simple i sometimes don't wash my rice love bhaghi rice but I omit pigtails I use salt fish or smoked turkey, thanks for sharing
I just make this morning for lunch today at work I don’t eat pork but I pull Chicken breast in mine it Taste good but keep up the good work on the videos love watching your videos and learn different type of food to cook I said from the Caribbean to I Learn a lot from my dad and my mom keep bless

@@reneeandrews4802 I enjoy watching you. You're very authentic. Your love for cooking is very evident. I love how you get so excited about cooking and sharing Trinidad and Tobago cusine.
I'm sorry ... but I had to pause the video at 3.40 and hold off watching the rest of the video until i had dealt with all the drool coming out of the corner of my mouth ... girl ... what are you doing to my taste buds ?!!! Am I going to need a whole box of tissues for this one ?? Good to see you're back by the way ... and looking mighty fine too ... your Man must be walking round town with a big grin and a full belly ... all day long.
So you only add salt if needed as per saltiness of the pigtails. What's your method is it just happens to be a bit salty before you added anything? Just learning. Thanks.
Hey, I love your show 🤗 Would love if you list ingredients and quantity before you start to cook it would be super and you can also use it to mention your sponsors 👍
V Foo yes I too was taught that way. Just as life traditions change too. Because it’s parboil it’s been processed ie steamed /washed already before we get it so it’s safe to use without washing. But thank you for your comment always appreciate feedback and queries
Add salt last, take the baby's portion out before you add salt and extra pepper. Puree the portion in a hand food grinder. This is how I fed my son as soon as he could eat until I didn't need t to grind his food. This is a very baby toddler dish
Looks good but I think chopping the amaranth (spinach) would be a nice lil additional step so the stems wouldn't be falling off the fork... especially if anybody eating has a beard.

Welcome back. Nice and simple dish. I am surprised you did not wash the rice I was always taught to wash it. Not being critical just saying.
V Foo yes I too was taught that way. Just as life traditions change too. Because it’s parboil it’s been processed ie steamed /washed already before we get it so it’s safe to use without washing. But thank you for your comment always appreciate feedback and queries
Allyuh doh wash rice? Other than that it looks delicious.
Was saying the same
It's parboiled therefore it doesn't need to be washed. Plus the extra starch adds to the creamy texture of the dish.
Dont have to wash it because its parboiled .... even doh washing it is good
Well done by love it
Looks yummy
Thank u for sharing

Yeah! Dye wah de real scene is!😋
Yummy!
Yum
Going to cook that tomorrow girl friend

Renee what about some baby/toddler versions of some of your dishes?
Add salt last, take the baby's portion out before you add salt and extra pepper. Puree the portion in a hand food grinder. This is how I fed my son as soon as he could eat until I didn't need t to grind his food. This is a very baby toddler dish
Renee how come you didn’t wash the rice?
Wet and nice
delicious
Great dish, never had it but it looks delicious. Renee, you should do a throw down with Natasha’s brother Batman. Now that would be the bomb!
I want it all 💖
Looks good but I think chopping the amaranth (spinach) would be a nice lil additional step so the stems wouldn't be falling off the fork... especially if anybody eating has a beard.
Looks great but you need to wash your rice though seriously.....
no she does not
Happy Wednesday, I don't eat pork or red meat..is there any other replace of the pork or beef? Thanks Renee.😘
Hi, you can totally omit the meat or use saltfish in it
@@eatahfood Thank you!😊👍
Made it today. Delicious. I’ll take a pic and tag you on ig
Lovely!
Wait you didn't wash the rice
welcome back
U should open your own restarunt
Yum 😋
Really think renee should've used what most trinis use which is dasheen bush. Esp how its supposed to be back to basics.
Delicious ...😅
How come you didn't wash the rice??😳😱😵
I like this dish but i prefer that it dried a bit longer. But a super meal.
Looks delicious! But I would definitely wash my rice
That is so true. When u don't add the coconut milk. Ppl will know. As well as your Mom
if u cut up the bush leaves it is less stringy...nicely done though
Omg 🤤🤤🤤
