I tried it. It turned out quite well. I added salt fish and used the traditional deeper iron pot. Thank you for a perfect recipe- not mushy, more on the grainy side. I will stand on ten toes also 😊
Okay, I’m from T&T, I’ve been baking my rice since back in the 70s. It was easier for me because as a child I found it simpler than doing it on top of the stove and it cooks faster. It doesn't matter if the pot is deep or shallow. What matters is, that it's a dense pot which can conduct heat evenly. Now, do your thing “Johnny-Come Lately.”

Thank you! No cleaning necessary other than giving them a wash before cutting. You absolutely want the slime. That's a main feature of the dish!
