This young lady's parents should have been a part of this episode. They clearly enabled her horrible money habits and even during the show she seemed to have learned nothing. They fact that her parents were willing to buy a $6000 wedding dress, with her racking up more debt after they paid it off, shows that somewhere along the line they spoiled her rotten. Gail should have given the money only to Gord, seeing as they were not even married yet, he could have put it towards his debt.

Sounds like a plan I still have my prom dress and I'm planning on using it as my wedding dress I'm totally in love with it even after 10+ after my prom
Good on you, girl! I paid $125 for my dress I loved. I’m short, so used the fabric from the bottom to make a veil. $9.00. I owned a catering business (I know - cheating). Our wedding, sit down dinner for 100 with a band came to $2000. It was perfect.
That’s what I was thinking! They could have a little wedding now and then when the debt is paid off they could have an anniversary/housewarming party in 5-10 years!
Shame on them for having a wedding ceremony when so far in debt. She is pregnant. Neither one makes a good salary! Go get married in a cheap civil ceremony wearing regular clothes you already own. Then for your 25th anniversary, if you are financially secure, have a ceremony and party.
Especially since they said at the start of the show they would be having a 2nd ceremony the following year? or in 2 years? Anyway, they're suppose to have a 2nd big wedding later. Did I not hear that right?
Exactly! Or save t he party for the child's christening, anyway. Weddings are almost a sham today anyway. Nobody is beginning g a new life together, they usually already live together. Nobody intends to keep those "for better or for worse" vows; when things get tough they're off to divorce court. As for white dresses, I'm rolling on the floor laughing.
I have never been able to relate to or wrap my head around expensive, large weddings. My husband and I were married on the side lot of my parent”s house by a minister with a caterer. Paid for up front. Twenty years later at 52 and 46 we are still married and some of those large weddings we attended, they are divorced. In fact too many of my friends and coworkers are divorced.
You are more than right. We spent less than 2000 Euros on our wedding in June this year. That includes the tuxedo, wedding dress, outfits for our 2 children, the wedding licence and a party with 40 guests. We chose an affordable buffet restaurant to feed the guests then went to a friend's waterside house for a party with drinks, cake and pizza.
We got married in our house. Minister, food, booze, cake, wife's dress all cost $500. Celebrated our silver anniversary last year...and we have no debt, paid off house, and both retired. It can be done. It just takes commitment.
The title was misleading...there is one person in this relationship that isn't doing anything or that seems to care. And Gord did have fixed expenses before he moved in. And cut up all his credit cards before even meeting Gail to help curb his spending...
Both these adults live at home... their parents have some responsibility for bringing up and then enabling such financial irresponsibility & incompetence!
Totally agree! I am always shocked when parents spoil their children and give them no responsibility or prep for the real world and then suddenly think they will change! They should have at least charged her rent and saved that money for her future debt or something after they paid her debt once!

You can do some cool things without breaking the bank!
Yup, we basically had the same wedding... we held (and paid for) different dinners for different groups, like friends, family here, family there... 4 or 5 meals in total, and had a fun and relaxed time where we could fully engage with everyone. Zero regrets.
O honey, we're in debt and can't afford to feed our new born baby! That's okay dear. Just hang your $6,000 wedding dress in the kitchen and point to it. Everything will be all right. When the child is old enough, we will just explain that having a white wedding was more important to you than feeding your own child. I'm sure he'll understand.
She said she doesn’t know where they went wrong? They didn’t, she only half participated the whole time. I feel sorry for this guy, he really tried and wanted to make changes. She has 90% of the debt, I hope he told her I’m not getting married until your debt is paid off.
Have none of these folks ever heard of goodwill, thrift stores, yard sales, parent swap meets, church parent groups? There are tons of ways to get everything kids need, everything a household needs, without ever setting foot in a retail store or ever paying retail prices.
I always wanted a small wedding, didn't get it because Hubby wanted to go all out, which is fine because we could actually afford it. Why do they need 2?, maybe it's Cultural? Seems wasteful and their in debt, so living beyond their means. They shouldn't marry until the Debt is cleared or not married at all.
"I don't know where we went wrong" when Gail didn't give them the full 5,000. Seriously?? Who's the duffas? She is!! Gee Wiz!! 6,000 dress?? Are you kidding me??
Gord seems like a nice guy and very encouraging. When she said “I don’t know where we went wrong” my heart sank for him. This wasn’t a WE issue, this was all her issue. This is the first couple that continued to overdraft and that was all her doing for an expensive wedding that her parents are paying some big bucks for when she already owes them money. So sad for the situation and hope she wised up.
She actually said i don't know where we went wrong...hmmm, Gail told you what you did wrong. You quit your job, so no Mat Leave. You wouldn't budge on a 6k dress. You didn't complete you debt shower challenge adequately.
Gord seems like a lovely man with a great personality, and he did the challenges. Not a doofus or a moron. Angela, however, just seemed totally vacuous and selfish. I hope she grew up.
How can she not know where they went wrong, when they made a payment plan for DOWN THE ROAD when she's supposed to be on maternity leave, but she decided to scrap all of that and go off work right then and there? How are you that dense, Angela??
Decades ago a friend of mine was living on her own and was in debt $3000 so her aunt lent her the money to pay off the debt. My friend instead used that money for a trip to Thailand! Some people just feel entitled
Love the backyard scene where they are talking about debt and they all have hot dogs in front of them. LOL Angela will never change and he quit his part-time job after the show. They are probably now more in debt than before Gail arrived. LOL
"Doofus, I think Not!" 😂😂😂😂 He's sooo funny!!! ✅✅ I hope their doing okay BUT at the end of the day, she seems a little lazy, to bossy & to entitled. She loves 2 spend $$$ so I wouldn't be surprised if they still live in the attic!
These were sweet kids Angela was a slow learner I think she needed more intensive help with the debit credit parts, I have a sister that needed a lot of help to understand the immediacy of credit payments. These two were really lucky they had loving families to help them over the trials of parenthood
Angela comes across as a spoilt child who pouts if things don't go her way. Gord seems super nice. Fingers crossed for them but it's not looking that great for them.
People used to ask me why I kept an old (but good) car for 20 years, made and mended my clothes and rarely ate out. Paid off my mortgage in 6 years. Debt free since I was 41. 67 now and cruising 😊😊😊😊
She wants the fancy wedding but doesn't want to put in the work and commitment that a successful marriage requires. The fact she couldn't even be bothered trying to sell some stuff or find part-time work or even talk to her friends about her debt shows how little she's committed.
I feel Angela doesn't need a fairytale wedding if they are in that much debt. No one cares that the dress is $6K! Have "Mom" use the $6K towards their debt!
Most of her problem couples are comfortably middle class & have no idea how to buy 2nd or used things!! They all exhibit total lack of self awareness or control. Gail is trying to cram years of growing up into adults within 1 month!! Would love to see followup on them 1 year later!!
I lived comfortably middle class all my life, but I had great financial role models and I had all the same opportunities given to me, even during the same time period as this girl. We’re probably the same age. The difference is, I moved home after college with $30,000 of student loans. I didn’t open a single credit card. I was a teacher, my parents let me live with them so I could pay off my loans. That’s exactly what I did. I paid cash for everything, paid down off my loans, saved to pay for my portion of the wedding expenses, then moved into a modest home once I was married. We still live in that home with our children near great schools and huge McMansions, so our home value has skyrocketed. And our mortgage is still the same low payment every month. It will be paid off in a couple years. If someone is willing to give you help or even if you just get lucky in life, it pays to be financially conservative as a way to say thank you and secure your future.
Sadly for many of those choosing to have flashy weddings most end in a couple of years, wedding not even paid for yet in many cases! There is nothing wrong with civil ceremonies, keep your money for your home! Not to supply booze to people who after the wedding you may never see again, utter insanity with some of these outrageously expensive weddings.
You are sooo right. I had a beautiful wedding within budget but years later wished we had used that money for a down payment on property. The wedding was absolutely beautiful and the party so much fun but in the end not worth it. 😢
I kept the cost of having babies low by buying everything second hand, not over buying, cloth diapers, breastfeeding and making their baby food at home.
Babies can be cheap. Thrift store clothes and limit to 14 outfits in each size. Skip newborn size! For "crib" use dresser drawer or laundry basket placed in safe area. When baby starts moving independently, lay mattress on floor. Cover all electrical plugs. Baby proof room. Put cover on inside doorknob to prevent baby's escape or turn around the doorknob so locks on outside. Use household items as toys. Cardboard boxes of various sizes for building blocks, spoons and pan, plastic cups various sizes for stacking, etc. American parents buy all kinds of expensive, unnecessary junk and way too many clothes! Babies don't need shoes until they walk. Strollers aren't needed unless you don't have a car. My smart friend bought a fold-up wagon for $50 and used it for the baby. The baby is 8 now and the wagon is still handy! You can tie the baby to your back using sturdy cloth. (How to on RUclips.) You do need a car seat.
Do you remember Dan Fielding on Night Court? I loved the episode where his parents visited, and he talked about his childhood - his little toy drum with the man with long hair and a fancy suit on the side (round Quaker Oats box) and his pet turtle that never actually moved (it was a spud). I still have my one and only teddy bear, and after 70 years I find it strangely comforting on occasions. Also had only one doll, not a room full. Amazing what you don't miss until other people tell you that you ought to.
@@queen.kristal8395 Yes, I agree as the child gets older costs increase. However too many raise their kids as pampered, spoiled brats setting the kids up for a lifetime of dysfunctionality because real life isn't having everything you want, having people waiting on you hand and foot, etc.
Not sure what country you live in but your advice sucks and is outdated. You do need a travel system , you do need a safe carrier for baby, you do need a crib or something meant for babies. Baby stuff can be cheap by shopping second hand. With our first we did new with our next three kids we did second hand. And that includes stroller car seat etc.

$20,000 and she lives at home, rent free 😢 that is insane.
Only two weddings? Why not three?
Her parents are going to be supporting her the rest of her life
Plus the child(ren)
Plus Gord and the children too. They will allll be living rent free with the parents.
She actually said i don't know where we went wrong...hmmm, Gail told you what you did wrong. You quit your job, so no Mat Leave. You wouldn't budge on a 6k dress. You didn't complete you debt shower challenge adequately.
Can we all agree that Gail has the best hair.
I wish there were updates!!!
LOL
I wish I had people in my life who gave such extravagant gifts!
Sorry, he could do so much better! She is rude to him, lies and a bully!
"Doofus, I think Not!" 😂😂😂😂
He's sooo funny!!! ✅✅
I hope their doing okay BUT at the end of the day, she seems a little lazy, to bossy & to entitled. She loves 2 spend $$$ so I wouldn't be surprised if they still live in the attic!
I keep forgetting that these people don't even pay rent! Why don't they have any money? It's gobsmacking 😮
"I don't know where we went wrong" and the "Doofus" nods his head.
I'd like to know how these 2 are doing now.
These were sweet kids Angela was a slow learner I think she needed more intensive help with the debit credit parts, I have a sister that needed a lot of help to understand the immediacy of credit payments. These two were really lucky they had loving families to help them over the trials of parenthood
These videos are kind of addicting
Damn i was wanting one without a happy ending but now im just sad forGord :( hes totally boned in this.
Why do people think they need to spend so much money on a wedding? Ummm no. Not when you are both so broke and a baby on the way! Gord RUN
This chick thinks mommy and daddy will be around forever, newsflash, grow up.
He seems so kind
"I don't know where we went wrong"
SHE TOLD YOU FFS
WOW
I've been stupid with money so it's hard to judge these people. At some point you have to get your head out of the sand.
How did she NOT know where they went wrong? Gail told her very clearly how SHE went wrong. SMH.
What the hell!!! This is a train wreck!!
She wants the fancy wedding but doesn't want to put in the work and commitment that a successful marriage requires. The fact she couldn't even be bothered trying to sell some stuff or find part-time work or even talk to her friends about her debt shows how little she's committed.
Yikes! "I don't know where we went wrong." She's not even mature enough to see the truth, let alone be a wife or a mother. 🤦♀️
I hope he gets himself a proper wife, deserves sooo much better!
"She's the brains, I'm the bronze"... obviously, sir
I would like to know if everything went according to plan. I hope the very best for them. Gail gave them all they need to get started.
Gord is going to have his hands full with that one…
He is a great guy!!!! ✅✅✅✅
Wait!! She said “ u hv a week to do things and sometimes there’s not enough time to get them done” isn’t she unemployed now??? WTH?
It’s funny how they seem to know the show by heart, giving their cards up early - but they don’t seem to have gotten the message
Exactly, I saw that too!
Ridiculous .. no fixed expenses ..they should be saving like crazy and making more money.
She doesn’t know where she went wrong?…
$6000 for a one time wedding dress?
We live with my parents, we don't pay rent.
Ridiculous
Angela is so immature. Not ready to have a child.
Gord will be stuck with two children, the baby - and _Angela!_
This episode title is epic. 🤣Albeit. Untrue. Angela is actually the issue.
I don't see why the title is so rude, but I think it's a reference to how he sees himself in the relationship?
Consignment stores are great for newborns. Clothes are barely worn and baby outgrow clothing so fast.
She really opened her mouth to say that she didn't know where they went wrong after Gail JUST TOLD THEM that she was the problem!
I love this show
TV in the bay window hurts my heart.
They are making things so much harder on themselves by resisting.
No doubt she ran out and spent that money.
She will never learn! Good luck Geordie!
Sadly for many of those choosing to have flashy weddings most end in a couple of years, wedding not even paid for yet in many cases! There is nothing wrong with civil ceremonies, keep your money for your home! Not to supply booze to people who after the wedding you may never see again, utter insanity with some of these outrageously expensive weddings.
its not outrages if you can afford it though.
I really don’t understand her. Why would I leave my job early. Lazy
Yeah 😂😂😂😂 kept sinking
Nope babies aren’t cheap wait until they get older
@@candi0826 “your advice sucks”😂
Why is he even with her now that she's pregnant he's stuck for 18 years
