Awesome stew keep them coming! I've been flying for about 6 months now and I really like it when you have a camera on your transmitter so I could see what you do versus what I do so I can learn better at what stick movements you are doing

Thanks so much! These lessons are perfectly timed for me. I just finished your $99 build. I built the upgrade version and added the HS1177 V2. Still really low cost and it works great - no issues with the build thanks to you instructions. Now I need to get better at piloting.
Can’t wait for the next lessons. (BTW hope to see you and Trev flying with @Stingerswarm in the near future)

I am another that is just getting into this hobby and your videos have helped out a lot. Had to learn the hard way not to lose control by hitting the throttle though so I'm waiting for parts to get back out there flying, but your videos are the best and I look forward to more of them.

I’ve been searching for a while on how to start my fpv learning and couldn’t find any. Today I open RUclips and first video I get its this one. Love the way you explain it and show how to go about flying. Just subscribed and going to continue through all your videos so I can finally learn how to control the avata. You rock bro. Thanks so much for taking your time to show others like myself on how to fly fpv. Rock on

Clearer instructions for new pilots Good idea. Well done on telling people to add a bit of YAW when turning. I have never seen anyone telling new pilots this and as you know its important. I have just helped my mate build his first Quad, and I told him last week you started a beginners guard. so keep up the great work.

It's a great help to see stick movements. It's amazing how little movement is required. When you turn you roll and yaw left, say, but you don't seem to need to roll right to get back to forward flight! I guess that is because you have Yawed left to spin the quad round it's centre?
Insert of sticks is very helpful, blackbox traces as well would really be the icing on the cake.

I found with the simulator you need to keep an eye on the throttle when doing those nice banked turns as I found it easy to forget about the 'third item' (elevation) during those.
Turning preference...hmmmmm I used to find the same thing on my motorcycle. Drag the knee on left turns but right sweepers were always strange feeling for some reason and I couldn't get as low. Thanks for the video and lesson!

I appreciate this series of videos. I finally was able to hover through 4 batteries a day for three days. I'm not saying I did it well but I did finish without crashing, breaking props, or hurting myself. I did twist my arm but that was from patting myself on the back. You mentioned you are switching transmitters. Have you selected the one you will be using?
Also, I am practicing with a wizard 220 and had to reduce the throttle curve to have any control over it. Before the wizard I started with a micro FPV which is very easy to control but too light for outdoors. Can you recommend one or two drones that would be between the wizard and the micro, designed for outdoor use and bit easier to control than the Wizard. I am not looking for speed on this one but primarily easier control and being able to use the transmitter and 3S batteries that I use with the wizard. Thanks

Hello Gentlemen, I recently watched a video on 3D quad flying (not flying quads in 3d video) and was wondering. If someone learned the basics of flying but was not professional, would it be better for them to learn 3D flying then or after they became more proficient with regular quad flying first? Love the content and I understand this might not be something you have dealt with much. Please keep up the awesome videos...

Have been watching these vids for month's now and was inspired to buy my first drone as I have three boys that are also mad keen to get into the hobby/sport.
So I purchased the wizzard x220 as this looked to be the perfect beginner drone .
In the first week of learning to fly one of my esc's caught fire so instead of returning the drone I thought it was a good idea to upgrade all the esc's I also made a few modifications like a battery buzzer and a runcam swift 2 camera, then I had loads of problems with the esc's flipping out and motors running the wrong way etc.
Anyway after about two weeks of messing around it was finally all ready to fly so today I went down to my local field and it was full of Muppet cricket players so had to go elsewhere, I found another field that has rugby goals on it and it was empty so I started flying and it was going perfect the props were sweet and I was flying around this field like a pro......On the osd I could see the battery was getting low and also could hear the buzzer so I came in to land and as I touched the ground it jumped back up about two meters straight into a small esky/chilli bin full of rainwater just big enough to fit the drone in ,I am gutted so at this stage anyone who is thinking about getting into this buy a new computer game instead...this is destroying me.....I hope it dries out....if it doesn't I will make a RUclips vid of me smashing it up lol :(

James Musker When getting into this hobby, you have to be patient and expect parts breaking.

    • @Sirko857
      @Sirko857 6 лет назад +1

James Musker Hello ! It seems you were flying in airmode, it allows your quad to freefall stably by compensating perturbations, *even when your throttle is minimal*. When you landed, your quad was hugely perturbated so it had to correct heavily. You have to switch back into regular acro mode before landing or disarm just before touching the ground. I am very sorry for your misfortune and I hope your quad is not totally broken.

For a begginer like me with little experience with flying with no assist like gps hold, return to home, auto hover etc etc, should I start off flying line of sight which I have been doing for a few days now learning to hover and getting used to a completely new feel of these drones or should I attach my LCD display to my hubsan h122d and start learning basic turns?? I know you get this all the time, but I want to get in to ACRO flying. I'm pretty good with LOS on horizon mode (NONFPV) but, want to FPV ACRO. More trick flying than racing. What is a good strong learner quad to use? Looking something that can take a crash but, be powerful enough that it will last a while. Wind here averages about 5 to 10 MPH. Thanx in advance, love your videos.

What are your rates set to? I’ve been trying this on the simulator and I am able to do it (not as perfect as you) to the left. But when I try the right turn the yaw tends to be too sensitive and I overshoot my turn. I tried adjusting the yaw rate and it still tens to be too sensitive.

A quick question, what is the tilted orange "box" on the very top of the drone in this video? Is it a 2nd camera? It looks like there is already an integrated forward-facing camera in the drone already? If this is correct, why does your drone have or need two cameras? It also looks like many of the drones hanging on the wall behind you have similar tilted plastic boxes (but the boxes are empty) on the tops of the drones, I see some yellow, black, and tan boxes. Can you explain more about them? Thanks!

its pretty hard flying ... and takes time to practice ... i got myself learning on lift off simulator first but eather level or acro mode arent helping at all .. still find it most convinient flying in 3D mode

These videos are so useful! I'm currently deciding on what first quad to buy. I noticed that you have moved back to the taranis instead of the turnigy evolution, which radio would you recommend for a new to FPV flyer!

I am a beginner and I am now trying to fly acro mode. I find it far easier to fly acro mode FPV than LOS. Should I learn both?

is it more important to sort of bank on your turns rather than just 180 on the spot?
