I've driven the Kodiaq too so if you want driving impressions - hit this link ruclips.net/video/wRHfxeKX5KM/видео.html
If you had to choose between the new kodiaq and the new tiguan which would you go for?
I am really sorry, but I feel like most of your comments and your observations about this car could’ve been done by examining the car for about one hour. I was hoping to get more information after driving 1000 km about how is it driving? How is the comfort? How are the seats on a long ride, the noise level, etc. the only info I actually got from you after 1000 km ride is about the low fuel consumption, which is good and about the brown leather getting easily dirty when you have smaller kids. For me a missed opportunity to give a review which could differentiate from all the other RUclips reviewers.
I agree, I come here expecting exactly that and got none of it.
a $5 umbrella is more important
I went to see the Kodiaq and thought it looked really nice, so I went for another look before I committed to the car (the SEL model,) with a closer inspection the alloys are cheap looking the front grill is shiny cheap and brittle, the interior is nothing special, an iPad and an iPad mini doesn't modernise a car. take 5k to 10k off it depending on which model, but it is a Skoda and it is overpriced...will I consider it .....sorry right off my shortlist ,I think the car reviewers are scared to be brutally honest
@@allannugent3890 I dont agree. I think it is a great package with good space inside. I went to see tiguan and i dont like interior, it is too small and centar console is horrible waste od space with knob who doesnt do anything (beside volume, ambient and drive options) and takes so much space. What are the alternatives for you in this price range?
@@allannugent3890 I have donne some research and these are the alternatives to Kodiaq (large suv or 7 seat): Defender, Santa fe, X7, Q7, Touran, 5008, Discovery and Jogger. Defender, Santa fe, X7, Q7 and Discovery have much bigger pricer than Kodiaq and real alternatives are 5008, Jogger and Touran and conclusion is that real alternative is 5008. Ofc X7 and Q7 have better interior but they are more expensive. Also you said that at the end of day it is Skoda but it have the same engine and the same platform as Tiguan (I am sure you won't say but this is just VW) so I really think you missed the point here.
As usual a great review. Price of cars have gone out of control.. where will it end ... simply not sustainable !
When people stop taking out ridiculous loans/credit facilities in order to 'own' them.
Used cars or cheap chinese made ones are way to go. Most Car manufacturers have become too greedy. who want to spend a fortune on a depreciating asset?
The greed of the manufacturers is one thing but look at the VRT in this country. Many countries dont apply it and others apply much lower rates. A car price in Ireland is calculated as follows
Basic price plus NOX tax plus 23% VAT. VRT is applied to the VAT and NOX tax inclusive price and then 23% VAT applied to the amount of the VRT. Little wonder our prices are almost the highest in Europe. Thanks Eamon Ryan.
@@gerardleahy6946 I'd imagine that predates Eamonn Ryan by a long way. The motor industry is a cartel here, and I'd say if you follow the money, many dealers and franchises are well connected to fg and ff.
@@terrydelahunt842suggesting they should be leased? Not necessarily cheaper per month
Thanks for the delicate KODIAQ II video. Nobby. Loved the video and subscribed as well. Looking forward to new videos of this Czech beast bear! Cheers from Istanbul!
I use to drive that Timoney Armour Car in the background back in the day 😊
I was wondering what that was
Nice one . Always loved this SUV
Seen that very car going up m1 two weeks ago. Lady driving it though. I've a white selection + with winter pack ordered. ETA August. 4th one I've gotten from annesley.
sportline comes in 4 odd weeks where I live. I can't wait. I've been talking to the dealer for the past 8 months trying to squeeze as much info out and I can't wait to order. 2.0TSI FTW
4 odd weeks wheres that ?
My thoughts too
@@FILIPOWITCH In the Netherlands it can be ordered starting the end of July 2024.
As a 5 seat family car, this or a Enyaq / ID4? Sounds like this would be priced above these EVs if spec was like for like?
Looks like you managed to get all of the marks out of the brown leather?
Can you do a review on the refreshed kia sorento?
I’ve ordered the PHEV, diesel here in the Netherlands not available 😢
What do you think about the DCC Plus suspension? Does the car feel too floaty in comfort mode?
I wouldn’t say floaty as it’s still got a good bit of weight to it but I think DCC is worth every penny.
Took the hit on the massive depreciation on my EV (polestar) and ordered the Kodiaq PHEV which will be my 3rd Kodiaq. Hopefully arriving in August!
Do you expect the same depreciation rate on PHEV?
New cars are new cars when it comes to depreciation
All I need to buy Kodiaq is a more powerful PHEV with 4x4. I like Sorento and Santa-Fe way more but Kodiaq has 120km of electric range.
It's not quite a BMW grill just yet ...but heck, it's getting there.
🤣
Dont know about that price tag, but ordered one in Romania, with many discounts, a PHEV with DCC, winter packages, sunroof , accoustic and sunset + family stuff with the door plastics, Red color, for 38.4k
How did you manage that? What discounts are you talking about more specifically? I'm also from Romania and quite intrigued by this car, but from I can see in the configurator, the price for the PHEV starts from "de la 43.674,- €". Thanks!
@@dragosdobre9479 go the the Porsche Dealership and they will explain more :) , the following discounts were applied , 3k for the new Kodiaq , 1.8k if you get leasing from them , 2.6k from gov plug-in ticket and another 5% extra discount , because my company has some understanding with Skoda
@@dragosdobre9479 You need to go to the dealership and find out . I had 3k discount for the new Kodiaq , extra 2.6k from the GOV for Plug-in cars , 1.8K if you get leasing from them and extra 5% or 7% , can't remember , because my company that i work for has some agreement with Skoda

I have to have a PHEV for tax purposes so would you go for this or the tiguan and would you go for DCC?
I'd go for DCC (might be standard with PHEV actually?) but between models, I'd just pick whichever you prefer, they're the same car essentially.
@@NobbyOnCars thank you dcc is standard on the tiguan but optional on the skoda
Would you recommend the sunroof?
Yeah I think it could be a dark dreary place without one
Love the review! Especially liked the very final statement about it no longer cheaper than a VW! ❤
PHEV still not available in Switzerland. I will wait for the Peugeot e-5008 to come out before pulling the trigger.
The same here. Meanwhile driving 1.2 petrol 408 gt. Outstanding car, but need more space and want phev.
Is it just the camera or does the leather have a horrible texture to it, makes it look very cheap
it's cheap, it's Škoda after all not Audi
I'll just buy the new Duster for 23k instead. Much better price value
Is this a 2ltr diesel
Yes
Collecting mine on Tuesday.150 diesel.
€60,000! That’s a lot of money.
Black seats also get ugly with sunscreen.
That brown interior is hideous 🤢
I don’t miss a day a week kislux This show..
53K starting price for a Skoda is unacceptable! I don't care how good it is..!!!
I hear ya but they sell like hot cakes so 🤷🏼
Why is it? 🤔 If it's as good if not better than other 53k cars how could they justify selling it for less? Everything in life is only worth what people are willing to pay for them and these cars are selling faster than most.
Hi, do not buy it before test drive, front wheels, especially with DCC plus have very bad noise, as shaking, resonance to car body. Without DCC plus a bit better but still very bad. All the rest in car is +/- ok, but price for fully equipped should be max 45k €, 57k € is far too much for such quality
Absolute rubbish sorry you cannot post that and not be challenged on it.
@@NobbyOnCars Sorry, tested 3 versions including new Tiguan and all has same problem. Even official dealers recommend not to order now with dcc plus and pro as both have same problem, people should know truth
I know it's a smaller car, but my 23 plate Karoq is horrendously noisy. The tyre roar and cabin drone are so bad that I wear noise cancelling headphones on my 23 mile motorway commute. Skoda have cheapened out so much now, it's laughable. And sound insulation has taken such a hit. I owned a 2009 Fabia that cost me £9600 new. My Karoq cost £37000 and is as noisy as the Fabia. Unacceptable.
@@mindaugaskuncaitis2909 well I’ve driven new Passat, Superb, Tiguan, Kodiaq and Elroq all with DCC and have not experienced what you’re describing.
I'm sure its a good car but it's incredibly dull looking from the outside.
коричневий колір салону це гірше не придумаєш. Якщо купляти Кодіак, то тільки комплектацію СпортЛайн.
Tiguan is not much difference in price and is a nicer car than the skoda
Smaller boot
Tiguan is a lot smaller, Kodiaq is about the same size as Tiguan Allspace was.
