Aloha foodie ohana🤙🏻 we hope you enjoy this video! Mahalo for watching and supporting us🩷 please remember these are our picks and our personal opinions. Remember to always be kind in the comment section, we appreciate you🫶🏼
I see why you wanted to make this video as perfect as possible. Great job on not only highlighting all the great foods but also the details on the history of each food. I think any visitor and locals alike will appreciate your efforts. Mahalo on all your hard work!
Awesome video! I thought you guys would just edit in old clips to compile this list, but you actually went and re-filmed and ate all the food. Keep up the great work!
Amanda and Felix what an awesome video. You must have done a lot of research that some items started in the plantation era. If you are looking for something to eat you could just watch this video. You must have spent a lot of time traveling to the different eateries. I think this video deserves an award for its content🥰 The photography and narration was perfect. Love and blessings.💖💖🙏🙏🌺💖💖💖💖💖
This is the best video you guys have done, and that's saying A LOT. Thank you for doing this, the very hard work to put this comprehensive video together is well appreciated! 👏👏👏👏👏
Aloha! I just wanted to say thank you for showing some great local spots to visit, whenever I get the chance to visit Hawaii I'll make sure to visit them all!
Amanda, awesome job editing this epic Hawaiʻi food guide video and Felix for co-starring in It. It was worth the wait. The only dessert I would add is Liliha Bakeryʻs coco puffs. And I guess Korean barbecue could come under plate lunches, but there are all the sit-down restaurants, too. Mahalo for all the links to the restaurant websites!
Hi to the cutest couple on RUclips! Wow what a fantastic job you both did on this video! So much content and perfect editing. Too many wonderful dishes to list...so I'll just say much thanks to you both..for all the useful references! 👏❤👍🥰
Happy Thanksgiving to you both Amanda and Felix. May you both be blessed on Thanksgiving Day. Thank you so much for sharing all your foodie adventure in 2024 and looking forward to seeing what's in store for the 2025. Aloha and Ahui Hou Malama Pono ❤❤
Let’s GO Foodie Ohana!!! The wait was worth it. Now that’s an episode of Hawaiian Grindz. If anyone goes to Oahu, this is the episode to watch and get hungry. Excellent work. Love you guys! 🤙🏽❤️🌴
Great video showcasing the amazing food Hawaii has to offer. I’ve tried many of the places you had mentioned and they’re amazing. I was also part of the livestream when you mentioned you were releasing this video. Much mahalos for all you do. Cheehee 🤙
Thanks for all the uploads. Been binged watching all your videos and I can clearly see that your progression with editing and being comfortable with the camera. All the info that you guys provide is priceless. Mahalo for all you do.
We Latinos love saladitos...salted plums...like the crack seeds you showed. We shove it in the middle of an orange (that has the middle area of the rind cut awa... so as you eat the orange, you bite into it and get some of the saladito salty goodness in the bite. It's so good!
Aloha from SoCal! I was born & raised in Honolulu, went to college in Cali and ended up staying up here. Just want to let you know that my family and friends all love your videos. Not sure if anyone let you know yet, that the address you have under Paalaa Kai Bakery in the video is the address for W&M Bar-B-Q Burger. At first I got all excited that there was a new Paalaa Kai Bakery in Kaimuki, so I wouldn't have to drive all the way to Wailua. Anyhow, much mahalo for letting people know all the best places in HI to make their stomachs happy!
You guys forgot Broke Da Mouth Grindz for garlic chicken. I found out about them from one of your videos, and it has been my favorite place to eat ever since. Also, don't sleep on the poke nachos from Foodland Farms in Kapolei.
Happy thanksgiving to you and yours. Your videos are always good but this video really shows the work you put into it. Mahalo for more recommendations.
Mmmmm, Ahi poke limu. Lomi salmon (chilled). Pipikaula. Poi (eaten with fish or meat). Huli chicken (roast over kiawe wood). Kalua pork. Lau lau. Kulolo (with Kona ☕). Malasadas (with Kona ☕). Loco Moco. Musubi ANYTHING 😁
It's only been a year since I was last in Hawaii and this list made me so hungry! 😋 From my trip, I remember lilikoi (passion fruit) cheesecake, ubé pancakes, and Kauai Coffee.
Its now 47 degrees in DC (and steady dropping), so watching this vid warms me up 😊! - can't wait to visit and re-try these establishments (except for the shaved ice - smh pretty to look at, but way too sweet!!
Thanks for the Guri Guri recommendation. Yes, I remember the shop in Maui and the drive inn next to the old stadium but hadn’t thought about for decades. Will definitely go looking for those spots on my next trip
Amanda & Felix we love your videos, and have found so many good eats through them! My gf is vegetarian, and although there is so much good food there, she always wonders why there aren’t more options as far as vegetarian offerings go. I bet you guys know the spots! Maybe in a future episode you could highlight some good veg friendly grindz? Not necessarily only plant based restaurants (me, I like my pig!) but even just spots with good veg. dishes & selection. We appreciate you guys, and will be going over to visit my folks for the holidays and look forward to trying more of the places we’ve seen in your videos. Thank you! Mele kalikimaka!
Wow, what a valuable resource for visitors and locals alike! Yup, you covered a lot of our favorite local foods in a very comprehensive video. I'm sure people will think of other "must try" items, but that just means a part 2 one day! 😆 Thanks for all you do for your Foodie Ohana! 🥰 (I have to say I have never seen Leonard's malasadas look so huge and CRISPY! One reason I don't go there is because they are sort of "generic" and don't have all the cracks and crispy crags like the ones homemade at fairs. But yours looked really good....I'll have to check them out again!)
So glad you enjoyed this video🤙🏻 coconuts are quite expensive 🥥 sometimes it’s more about convinience. If you open it yourself it may be lower in cost at the supermarket.
Yup, don't make it a habit to eat local too often. Lots of bad fats, carbs, non-grass, fed meats, gluten bread dishes, and sugar to the max. Eat on occasion and sparingly😊
I every time I watch your videos. My stomach grumbles 😛. I hope to pay a visit the next year. I will reference your videos to pick the spots I would like to try. All the places would probably be a better value to eat while we are there.
Oh you guys make me hungry and crave all the foods I miss. Yeah, don’t inhale when eating snow puffies. 😂 I think that’s why my niece doesn’t like them, 😂. No sleep on Paalaa Kai’s fried chicken. When spending a day on the north shore we stop at Paalaa Kai and pick up chicken and desserts to eat at the beach. Life doesn’t get any better. Manapua for thanksgiving is almost a must for us, they just don’t fill it like most in Hawaii. Loco moco is probably my favorite local food and don’t ask me how I like my egg. Dat buggah betta be runny. 🚫 scrabble 🤮😂😂😂
We love the fried chicken from Paalaa Kai! Always a must when hitting the beach in NS🤤 LOL at the loco moco egg debate! We know locals are die hard for that runny egg yolk🍳
Another thing that makes Waiole Poi Factory special is that it uses taro (kalo) grown on the island of Oahu. Taro is common on Kauai, and Maui and Hawaii have a resurgence in taro farming, but not so much in modern Honolulu County.

Since so many people have food allergies like tree nut and peanut besides others, it would be nice if to see when reviewing the restaurants you visit to mention food allergies. Especially poke that has kukui nut. I always have to ask if it is made with or without.

I’ve been watching you guys for awhile and while I agree with most of your recommendations 7-11 musubi? Really? It’ll do if you really need a musubi, but never get any crisp on the spam and the rice always has a funny taste to it.
Mahalo for the comment! Although it may not be your cup of tea, our addition of 7-11 musubi is for those who wanted a convenient musubi! We’d love to hear your suggestion, it may help a fellow foodie ohana☺️
Aloha foodie ohana🤙🏻 we hope you enjoy this video! Mahalo for watching and supporting us🩷 please remember these are our picks and our personal opinions.
Remember to always be kind in the comment section, we appreciate you🫶🏼
I like to use scissors to cut malasadas into triangles. 😁
@@AmandaFelixEats We love you guys!!! Happy Thanksgiving to all of your ohana!!!

Amanda and Felix what an awesome video. You must have done a lot of research that some items started in the plantation era. If you are looking for something to eat you could just watch this video. Another thing that makes Waiole Poi Factory special is that it uses taro (kalo) grown on the island of Oahu. Taro is common on Kauai, and Maui and Hawaii have a resurgence in taro farming, but not so much in modern Honolulu County.
True! 🤙
Best foodie spot in the entire usa.
Wow what an honor🙌🏼 big mahalo Jerome 🤙🏻
I noticed the t-shirt. You've been to the Stone Pony in New Jersey?
Unfortunately we haven’t, a good friend gifted us the shirt!
You should have the foodies to your site make sure they try gau gee mien because from what I learned it is pretty exclusive to Hawaii most other places have only won ton but not gau gee
Lets go find ogo limu 😅
And put chilli peppa wadda, sesame oyo, green onions & dash of shoyu 😅
I can eat all dat
day in & day out. 😁
Pro tip soak ur sweet and sour in vinegar and a ton of tobacco it’s delicious ❤
Sounds good!
Since so many people have food allergies like tree nut and peanut besides others, it would be nice if to see when reviewing the restaurants you visit to mention food allergies. Especially poke that has kukui nut. I always have to ask if it is made with or without.

Why do we call it manapua?
modern way of saying the Hawaiian words mea ʻono puaʻa, which is roughly "pork cake"
Can you guys do healthy places to eat? Gluten free, grass fed meat, etc. We need more places to offer these selections. What do you think?
