I was born in Honolulu, hawaii, and graduate kalani High School. now I live in Texas. All my family still lives there, so over the many years I try to visit every year to say hi to my family. However, secretly, I go to eat so much food that i miss living in the mainland. What surprise the hell out of me. I thought I ate many different places growing up or friends say try this place they found when I visit. When I watch your videos, it shocks me that more than half the places you two eat. I have never been too or even eat there. Im 50 years old, so I eat many different places. Thanks for all your videos. I get hungry every time and surprise of the hidden places.
I retire in houston as a police officer. Now living in the valley in mcallen. There's none here in mcallen. I came to love this city because there are no crowds at Walmart or other stores. Traffic is none compared to Houston. I have many friends who live in Las Vegas, and they say there are many people who live in that city from hawaii. I heard Facebook headquarters moving from California to Austin. I drove to Austin four years ago and noticed the traffic is a nightmare on the main freeway. Your city has been growing fast with people due to many jobs, but I also noticed the house prices have skyrocketed too. Aloha from the valley.
Happy Christmas Monday Foodie Ohana! I hope you guys have an awesome week and enjoy your Christmas. Mele Kalikimaka to my Foodie Ohana. Another onolicious episode! Love you guys. 🤙🏽❤️🎄🎅🏼🌴
We were suppose to come to Hawaii a few years ago, but were not able to because of flight issues/post covid and the busy life. We're back on planning for our Hawaii trip! Glad to see that your channel is still going!!
Cake noodles! One of our most missed food here on the mainland. There was a restaurant that opened nearby and the owner was from Hawaii. He said his food was the Hakka style food, and he made amazing boneless chicken with cake noodles that we always ordered. When he saw us walking in, he would call us his Hawaii friends. Unfortunately during covid they closed up and now we have no where to go to get our fix. 😞
Everything looked so 'ono! The only thing I've never tried is the shrimp toast, but it looks good. Guess I haven't eaten Chinese food for breakfast. I've never eaten at any of these places, and I only know the popular ones in the area. Thanks for sharing hidden gems!
Happy Holidays! Hope you have a great trip with your family ❤ Never heard of cake noodle, would love to try it one day when I visit. The shrimp toast sounds good too 😋
Great selections. U Kitchen is definitely old Shirokiya. I usually get the pork katsu or mochiko chicken. I agree about Lucky Box having their cake noodle sauce separate on takeout. The mini portion is large. The dessert looked like a slice of Lady M cake. If it was, expensive but good. Happy holidays Felix, Amanda, Lucy, and Davonne.
U-Kitchen is where our favorite Korean place used to be: Arirang Barbeque. The ladies were always soo nice and the food was delicious. I miss them a lot!!
Prawn (shrimp) toast is so popular in the UK, we do like fried bread. Also, most of our Chinese takeaway places are run by people with Cantonese heritage.
Love your show. The best crepe cake is hand down from LadyM. Matcha is my favorite. They are all over the mainland but you can try them out at Waikiki tea house on the island.
Aloha Everybody 💯🤙😎 I been to that 1st hole in the wall spot in kalihi early in the morning to pick up my work van from that mechanic shop. Not a place to be that early 😂😂😂. The homeless just wreck the place, and the shop owners have to clean up after them. I love a good cake noodle dish and that shrimp toast looked good. Happy Holidays 💯🤙😎🎅🎄🤶🎁☃️
Aloha Hawaii's sexiest couple.. I feel like by the time I get to Hawaii which is definitely next year around April/May, i'll most likely be coming with back with extra weight :p Thanks for all the videos. Would love to see a video of just HALAL meat restaurants.. Would that be a possibility? Soo many Muslims visit the island and on my last visit, my ex wife and I struggled finding Halal food..I was recently searching up and it seems there are quite a few fancy Middle Eastern Food places there serving up top quality Shawarmas and other Arab goodies.
I'm pretty sure that shrimp toast is more of a local invention. This is the first I ever heard of it. I've never seen it in any of the dim sum places I went to and I have went to some in Hong Kong also.
Kee Sum Cafe in Hong Kong is famous for it. It's in Peng Chau, or near it anyway. Many yum cha places in Hong Kong serve it. Growing up in Hawaii, I've never seen it until fairly recently.

Where in Texas? I live in Austin I’ve noticed a few Hawaiians having moved here

I'm pretty sure that shrimp toast is more of a local invention. This is the first I ever heard of it. I've never seen it in any of the dim sum places I went to and I have went to some in Hong Kong also.
Shrimp toast is very common in Cantonese/Western cuisine. It is still very widely served in European Chinese food.
Kee Sum Cafe in Hong Kong is famous for it. It's in Peng Chau, or near it anyway. Many yum cha places in Hong Kong serve it. Growing up in Hawaii, I've never seen it until fairly recently.
So interesting!
