I did it!!!! Omg, ngl I frogged this a few times cuz my edges just were a hot mess!!! But I can’t wait to make another one!!! This was sooo much fun to make!!! Thank you for doing the sizes that’s something I really struggle with cuz I never get it right can’t wait for the kid to try this on!!
I have just completed my 2nd Alpine Sweater, and I love it. My son and Sister put their orders in, so I haven't done one for me yet, but I highly recommend it. The tutorial is great easy step by step guide, so thank you, crochet has helped me so much. It helps divert my mind from my pain and keeps me busy. I have been medically retired after 40 years of nursing, and I rediscovered Crochet recently. Keep those tutorials coming and thank you again
For crochet I can generally recommend going up at least 1 mm in hook size. It makes everything feel softer, since crochet can be quite thick and stiff, depending on stitches. Knitting doesn‘t have that problem, but sometimes I prefer crochet, so this is my compromise.
Thank you so much for including what to do for the other sizes. I have yet to attempt making a sweater because I have trouble reading patterns and really need a video tutorial. But most videos I find are all making size Small and I'm left confused on how to make it bigger. I learned to crochet about 2 years ago and so far the most complicated thing I've made is a sweater for my 10 lb dog. Lol. I can't wait to try this pattern. Thanks again!
Awesome!! You made my life easy to crochet such pattern which I am been looking. To be honest such close and cosy stich I have not found, please continue showing the different sizes numbers as you mentioned. I have never seen anyone showing like you. Thank you for sharing!! All the very best. I have subscribed your channel so that I cannot miss any of your patterns. From Australia 🇦🇺
Thank you! This is the first tutorial showing FP- and BPDC as a way to make edging. I always do this because, for me, it's easier than doing a BLO 7" string. Have you ever tried doing it right into the area you want? Just do a row of sl/st or SC first, then work off that. If you want to be really crazy, you can skip the sl/st / SC round altogether. It works.
Félicitation Mme.🤩🤩🤩trop beau trop forte CHAPEAU MME!!!!
I am now on the 4th one of this pattern my family love it especially the men snd its been great fun to do more men's sweaters please you are an amazing teacher it's so helpful as well to have the sizes for the pattern in text on screen saves me so much time hunting it down on line. Thank you so much... Sue x
So bright & pretty! I have tried the Alpine stitch at least 5 times. I feel lucky today, though! It’s going to be the day I can remove the Alpine stitch from my bucket list .!
You are my absolute favorite crochet RUclipsr! 😍 I’ve bought a couple of your patterns and they’re all so easy to follow and fit perfectly. Please keep making more vids and patterns ❤!
Hi Anne, I am new to your crochet website. I am going to try to make the Alpine Sweater. Your tutorial looks very detailed and that’s what I need. Thank you for sharing😊🧶
Thank you. I am sure it is not as easy as you make it look. I am dying to have a go at it. I am a newbie so I am very nervous but your explanations are excellent. Thank you ,, ❤️
So excited to have found this! I’ve been wanting to finally try making a sweater, and yours look gorgeous and you explain it so well! I looked at your Etsy account and already have some more in my cart, so hopefully this one turns out well. My only glitch is, while watching (and reading) I’m missing when to use each hook size you had listed?😬 I’m feeling a little dopey for not hearing/finding that part haha
Hi! Currently working on this pattern, loving it so far! Quick question, at 16:35 you state to work for a total of eight rows for the shoulder strap, but the pattern states six. For clarity, is it six or eight rows total for the shoulder straps?
Beautiful sweater. I'm curious, why chain and turn when working in the round? Why not just keep going in the round? Does it change the appearance of the stitch?
How many super saver balls of yarn did you use for this? I also want to make it shorter sitting about by my hood so if you take that in to consideration how many balls of yarn would I need?
Hoi ik probeer deze trui te haken, maar het haakwerk trekt scheef, heb al een grotere haaknaald geprobeerd dat helpt niet en ik heb wel steeds dezelfde aantal steken, wie heeft hier een oplossing voor
You have created a beautiful sweater and I'm glad you've shared your method. But the journey from start to finish could be more efficient. I find the pattern to be flawed when it comes to the sleeves. I am making this for my grandma and had to adapt it to a petite size small, which is not too difficult, but I tried all measures for the arm circumference and grandma said they were all too tight. This is because chaining in a circle severely limits the stretching capacity. The sleeve pattern is missing the flexibility of a pattern with open sleeves. The fifth time I did it, I reversed your sleeve pattern, starting with the cuffs instead of the forearm and made the strange trapezoid-ish shape of an open sleeve, then stitched it to the body of the sweater and closed the sleeve and the side which worked much better than what you describe. In my opinion, it also would've been easier to do the body of the sweater by working the bottom ribbing with the body either first or last instead of making it later and stitching it on - not only would this method decrease the number of knots in the garment, but for those who are actively counting stitches, it decreases the possibility of a mismatch and having to take it apart and do it again.
How much yarn do i need to order. I'm just looking at ordering my aran weight yarn for a size Large but I can't see anywhere advising how many balls of yarn to order. I've bought the pattern and that doesn't say either. Can anyone help please?
In video she uses a 5.5 hook and yarn size 4.. For a bulky size 6 yarn you might be asked to use a hook from 6.5- 8.00.. It's a bit of a guess.. Perhaps if you are normally size large for this pattern, try following her pattern for size small, down 2.. Normally any decrease or increases are made by changing size of yarn and size of hook.. So maybe a hook 6.5 for your yarn #6, and size small or medium..
I was curious too.... did you ever find out? I have a stash of yarn is most likely enough. I don't think I missed it in the video and really don't want to purchase the pattern. It's the one thing that's missing in the beginning of the video, unless I missed it??

I read that going up a hook size can get rid of the curling of the Alpine stitch. I went up 1/2 hook size & it worked.
For crochet I can generally recommend going up at least 1 mm in hook size. It makes everything feel softer, since crochet can be quite thick and stiff, depending on stitches. Knitting doesn‘t have that problem, but sometimes I prefer crochet, so this is my compromise.
Thanks for the tip.😊
You can also work a front post triple instead of a double ☺️
Finally a written pattern that I can understand and follow, thank you so much!
Very beautiful very well explained thanks Ma'am

The best thing about this channel is they use easily available yarn like Red heart super saver and carron 1 pound.
Thank you for the inspiration
Beautiful
how much yarn did it take for you to finish ?
I love all the work you do. Please, I want to enter this profession, but there are not enough types of yarn in my country.
How much yarn did you use for a size small? I love this pattern and I'm going to try this! You explain everything so clearly! Thank you!!!
how many grams of yarn for the xs size?
Hi! Currently working on this pattern, loving it so far! Quick question, at 16:35 you state to work for a total of eight rows for the shoulder strap, but the pattern states six. For clarity, is it six or eight rows total for the shoulder straps?
Pretty sure it’s six, since she said that at 12:48 :)
The Alpine Stitch has a tendency to curl. I figured out to keep it from curling, just treble crochet in the post, for me this solved the problem.
Hello, for all sizes shoulder strap should be 6rows only ?
I have taken 65 chains as width. please advise
6 rows or 8 rows on the shoulder straps? You write down 6 but say 8 in the tutorial. I love this stitch so much. Thank you for the pattern :)
Beautiful sweater. I'm curious, why chain and turn when working in the round? Why not just keep going in the round? Does it change the appearance of the stitch?

I have some beautiful bulky yarn 6. Can I follow pattern above. How do I adjust for size?
In video she uses a 5.5 hook and yarn size 4..

Is anyone else's alpine stitch looking "thinner"? I love this tutorial but my stitches aren't as thick and distinguished as hers and it's a bummer.
