    I've got a 12x12 one and it's been about four years and it's still as beautiful as when I first assembled. I did stain it last year as it was fading. Covers my hottub perfectly. I went with 16" round cement forms/posts about 4' into the ground which are about 1" higher than the patio pavers so drainage is no issue. I used four bolts per leg into the concrete. Nothing mother nature can throw at this thing except a tornato, but the legs will probably still be attached because that concrete weighs more than the gazebo. We have a Sunsetter awning for the main patio 10'x25' which is attached to the house. We leave it up all summer because I've got the add-on rainaway arches and deflappers. It's very strong, all alluminum and the legs lock onto the patio. I've got the screen kit for the Gazebo, it is good quality and we like it but hardly use it. The only thing left, I'm going to add gutters to the gazebo because rain can pool between the two. Looks like they sell a gutter kit now as well.

    After so many years of replacing the canvas roof Gazebos and walking past the Costco display of their Grand Gazebo, every spring, I finally bought it. With help of my (structural engineer and newly minted PE) son and a handyman, we assembled it over a couple days.
    Finally! A permanent cedar gazebo with a sturdy and non pliable, metal roof! I bragged to my wife who looked over our project with what I interpreted as cautious approval.
    As I was looking up to admire the shiny, double sided, plastic preserved roof, I noticed some dark clouds building in the sky and was thankful that we finished the project before the storm came and most importantly, secured all four legs so that hurricane winds could not carry it away. It seemed that we had done our homework until, to my dismay and horror, it happened.
    At first, there was rain and then, wind. I looked out our patio windows to see how it was holding up. The Gazebo stood rock solid and completely unphased by the torrent violence of the winds. Finally, the winds let up and I heard a small click. Then, more clicks and dings. Oh no! Hail storm..haha. 1/4-1/2 inch hail rained down on our gazebo roof, bouncing into a neatly outlined, square pile on our deck. Later, I assessed the damage on our poor gazebo roof….noth’n!! I could hardly believe that there were no dents. Wow, I thought. That’s the power of Costco!

    • @DavidDemangos
      @DavidDemangos  Год назад +1

      That's good to hear, the roof is fairly thin so maybe it flexed when I was getting pounded by hail and didn't dent. Who knows, could be engineered for that! 😃

We did ours and made a taller like bartop table on 1side w/hadock blocks and wrapped them with air stone and we did other side our outdoor kitchen grill & sink wrapped that in air stone and turned out great. We have ours for almost 5yrs now and we live in country wide open nothing blocking no trees & winds get up to 20- 60mph all the time. Nice video. I just purchased and installed one with my father-in-law. The instructions (as so many people have mentioned) are sub-par at best and it's imperative that one has A LOT of patience. My question(s) are: 1. Do you have a video showing how you ran your electricity from the gazebo to your main house? 2. Do you know if I can use an existing indoor ceiling fan (that I replaced with another ceiling fan) for use in this gazebo? 3. Do you have a video showing your staining process? Did you tape off the screw/bolt areas or were you just careful around those? Thank you.

    Hi there, we are having our garden landscaped and I was hoping to get this gazebo. However, our garden will slope down so the water drains away from the house. The instructions on the gazebo say that this can only be installed on a flat surface so I thought that this would not be suitable for us. However, you mentioned that your garden slopes and that you added blocks to lift a couple of the corner pillars. How have you installed in a sloped garden please?

    @DavidDemangos I love your RUclips on your Yardistry gazebo. I just finished install of my 12x20 and want to stain it a different color as you did. My question is did you overstrain the original color that came from manufacturer? If so did you see any color change from the color you chose? Thank you.

      Do not sand off the original stain, yardistry told me specifically. I have the color I chose in the video. It's darker than the original. Good luck 🤞

    David- Just got mine put together a couple weeks back. You started to talk about it, but lost your train of thought. When did you stain/seal it? Obviously Yardistry says 3 months, did you follow that?

    • @DavidDemangos
      @DavidDemangos  2 года назад

      I would have stained around 6 months I didn't know Yardistry recommended 3 mos. at at that point. If I remember I think I did it at the 2-year mark but our weather is really forgiving in San Diego.

      @@DavidDemangos Hi David! Is there a reason why you did not seal it with, say "Thompson's WaterSeal Multi-Surface Waterproofer"? I am about to stain mines with the exact stain you used and wondering if you recommend sealing it when finished with the stain. I guess if you can go back would you still do the same or also seal it? I live in SoCal so not a lot of rain usually (this year was crazy weather lol) Thanks
