- This is my review of the Mellcom 12'x20' Metal Hardtop gazebo from Amazon. This took us about 17 hours to complete over 2 days. It was a very challenging build, but it turned out great and is a good quality product.

How many feet is the string bulb lights in your gazebo?
Thankz
❤❤❤
Loving outdoor living now. added the ZeboZAP and strapped on my existing tv.
I got the ZeboZAP and was easy to mount. Loving our tv outdoor on this gazebo.
You made this look soooooo much easier than it really is. This was true 2 DAY nightmare!!!!
Well this wasn't an instructional video, just an overview
@@Myksgarage lol I know. Props to you though! (My comment wasn't meant to be rude, I'm sorry if it came off that way)
@@Amanda20019 its all good, it is not an easy project, but if you have the time its worth doing it yourself!
Coming from a women
2 days? It took us 3 days (we made several mistakes)
Thank you for the video bro! Very informative and great advice. Your review and info was great before I buy this item. Thanks a lot!
Glad this helped!! Good luck!
I don't know how I came across this video on RUclips but nice video
Well thanks for watching!
Great we installed this last saturday two people in 4 hours and did two other yardistry 12x12's same day.
We installed for $750
That's a quick install! You must know what you're doing!
@@Myksgarage Oh yes
Yesterday yardistry 12x14 after anchored in 2 hours
Can you recommend people install gazebo from Costco vin ont Canada??
Thank
i just did my gazebo and cannot agree more. screw the roof panels down, at least at the lowest points, before moving on. i did it by myself and i put the ladder up next to the ceiling beams so the roof panel wouldn't slide down while i adjusted it into place.
Good tip!
Looks nice, good review 👍🏾
Thanks 👍
GREAT video!!!
Thank you!
Thank you
Yes'
Thx for this my little country church was looking at getting one of these
Very nice!
eBay has some the same size for approx $2000
Has been a challenge. Cant tell by the pictures in the manual how to place the clips. Do the clips screw in?
For the roof panels?
wow stunning 😃👍👍
Thanks for watching
it's called a powder coating used to protect steel/ aluminum
👍
Very good review my friend.
I appreciate your kindness!!
I had a smaller piece of the top roof fall and hit my wife’s wrist causing g a huge gash. Spent rest of the day at the emergency room for stitches but we love the gazebo. Just don’t stand below while installing the roof. Ugh.
Ouch!!
Hi, we are planning on purchasing this. Yours looks so beautiful. Do you know if you chose the brown or is it the dark brown? I agree it is hard to see close ups. I really like the finish on yours. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching, we ordered the "brown" color, here's a direct link to the one we bought: amzn.to/3zjfXbP
It's held up great, we are very happy with it so far!
Great Video!!!!
Thanks
Would it be possible to mount a tv in one of these? Would the frame support that? Curious how sturdy since it is aluminum.
Yeah, I've wondered that too, and you should be able to
Great video. Thank you for taking time and show all these details. Quetion: we are in South Florida and get hurrucanes somethimes. How hard is would be to remove the roof pannels if I have to, just to get ready for hurricane. I can secure the frame but affraide the gazebo will be gone if I keep the roof on during the storm. Thanks
On this specific model, it would be extremely difficult to remove the roof panels, there are probably 170 bolts/screws holding it down. I just built another one of these. Here's the link ruclips.net/video/87je8tPeVSQ/видео.html
this one has much easier to install and remove roof panels, this might be a better consideration.
the gazebo looks really good. Question:. how hot does the aluminum roof get under the full summer sun? Is it comfortable under the aluminum roof, do you feel heat radiating down?
Yes you can feel the heat while inside, but you're also in the shade so it helps.
Does this let air flow in the top? I'm currently in the market for a gazebo this size, but it's SO hot here, not sure if I need to choose one that is more open on top or not. Thanks!
It is vented at the top, and let's the heat out, but it does get hot inside in direct sun because it's all metal and heats up.
Hi. I just installed this about 3 weeks ago & I am having an issue with water leaking thru the 6 seams along the perimeter. If you look at your video at the 1:57 mark for reference, its right above your head what I'm speaking about. Its funny because the 2 on the far sides of the gazebo are not leaking. Its just the 2 on each side that when it rains the water is coming thru those screws. Any help you could give me or ideas to make this stop happening would be great. Love the video. Very informative. Thanks!
Maybe take the screws out and put some silicon caulk in the screw hole and put the screw back ?
Yeah I thought about doing that also. I tried putting ckear flex seal tape across the seam on top but that isn't working so I think I will try the silicone now. Does yours leak at all because I haven't seen any reviews saying that other people's were leaking? Thanks for you advice
@dantheman4763 Hey, did you ever get to fix the leaks? I just installed mine and I'm having the same problem.
Thanks for you advice. Got a 12x16 to put up next weekend. What box number were the instructions in please.
I don't recall, just open them all up and organize the pieces
Does the rain leak through the screws?
No it doesn't
nope, if they're tightened down properly
Hello brother, beautiful house and Gazebo! How is holding up ?
It's held up great, no issues
Do you get bad windy storms where you live?
Yeah, we really get 70 mile an hour winds in my area and this is held up great
Putting up the same exact gazebo. Half the roof is up, but I began to notice that with the sun beating down on the roof it gets pretty hot. Is there anyone with any ideas on how to insulate the underside of the roof?? Right now I'm thinking having spray on insulation installed professionally. Scared to see what that might cost.
Might be better to just get some Misting fans
GREAT video - thanks so much. Quick question - we have a new patio with brand new pavers. Not sure that we want to bolt into those just yet. Is the gazebo stable enough without bolting it down?
Yeah it's stabled. It could be moved with high winds so bolting it down is probably necessary
Use blue Tapcon concrete screws with washers....Easy!
Wind will move your Pergola.
Can this gazebo multiple fans? Is there a tv mount as well
You can hang fans
from the roof, the TV mount is not included
Also, you mentioned eventually adding electricity, does the gazebo come manufactured for electrical setup? I.e sockets, places to run wires, etc.
@nickingram4796 yes I bought 2 fans from Lowe's and have them hanging under the gazebo. They are perfect. Light weight & do what is needed. I believe I paid around $150-$200 each for them. Hopefully this helps
I’m actually getting one in a few weeks but how well does it preform
Really well!!
@@Myksgarage sweet I’ve been reading the reviews on it and some say it comes damaged like idk if I should get another brand or this one but I’m getting the 12x20 seems very spacious not sure if yours is that size as well
What box was the instructions in? Where there anything in the instructions that mention what box each part was in?
The instructions were in on of the boxes, you might have to open them all to find it
How many cars can you park underneath it?
I would like to get one of the same size and use it for a temporary garage.
Probably just 1 car
Thank you. I thought I could have fit about 2 🤷🏽♂️
I'm researching this product. the comments read aluminum roof. Does the aluminum model have a rain gutter system? The aluminum model description in amazon does not state it, but with the steel roof model it does state that is has a rain gutter system.
I can't speak for every model and metal type, the one I got had the rain gutter,
What is the wind rating? Does it hold up pretty good? I live in a windy area. Thanks.
I believe they say 60mph
Is the roof leaking so far? We also bought a gazebo from Purple Leaf, but in our case the roof does leak. Any tips? Any feedback would be great. Thanks.
Mine has not been leaking, I guess you could put some silicone between the panels and where the screws go in.
Do you think a TV mount and a Fan is possible to be added into the post and the ceiling of the gazebo ?
Fan yes, TV Mount is questionable
Is the sound loud when it rains?
Yeah it is loud
I just buy one but dont come with instructions, where i can get it
Just contact the manufacturer
Took me about twenty hours embarassingly. But have to make allowances i did it by myself, and had to take water breaks. 103-104 degrees here. I struggled with the roof big time.
Yeah it would be more difficult by yourself
I feel your pain. 2 weeks ago I, with one other person, assembled a 12 x 18 gazebo in hot weather. It took us with two ladders about 15 total hours over a 2-day span to complete. We had a 20 inch industrial grade fan blowing on us and had on a liberal amount of sunscreen. You are right about the roof sections. They were the main headache. We tip our hat to you doing it alone!
So when doing the roof panels how did you screw it on/ keep screws from spinning without being pn the roof? Would you be able to do the roof if it was built against a house?
The roof bolts have a nut on the other side
Would you beablw to build in place next to the house where you wouldnt really have access to the top of the roof? The gazebo i had you build the roof in peices and then lifted the parts in place
quick question what are the dimensions for the concrete you use I'm looking at doing something similar to this
Mine is like 13x24 feet
Mike how do you put the clips on the roof pieces and get them in
That is kinda tricky, just put the clips on the panels and work them into the slot
I’m installing a12x24 and having a really hard time with those clips 😡
I think they could off done something better with does clips !!!!!
How much did you spend with the price of the gazebo, tools and people hours?
Paid $2500 for the gazebo, i assembled it myself and I had the all the tools needed
Which side of the curtain goes outside?
We have it set up that the mesh is in the inside and the privacy curtain is on the outside.
We got the same unit. Having trouble mounting the side post. The “L” bracket is preventing us to slide into the gap. In our manual it is step 4. It’s like pieces “E1a” and “E1b” are a bit long. Did you have any issues, with the side post?
I don't recall having that issue
We are having the same issue right now ..I'm on here searching...no help yet
Im installing a 12x24 but I’m having an issue with the clips they keep falling off
😡
Hello can you explain the gutter system? Does it leak from all sides or is it directed? Im trying to figure out placement for my place. Thanks. 🙏
The water all funnels down the legs
@@Myksgarage Nice! Thank you!
started to put a ceiling fan up have to build the center down about 7 inches so the 32 inch fans dont hit the ceiling or should i just cut two inches off the blades
Maybe use a gazebo specific fan:

@@Myksgarage working with what they have
How did this hold up with snow, assuming it snowed in your area over the winter?
Yes lots of snow this winter, it held up great
I'm sorry if I missed it but how much did you pay for it?? Right now is on Amazon for 2500...but im curious how much it was back when you got it...
I thought it was closer to $3000
How has this hold up so far? Also how is it with high winds/gusts?
It's held up great, and held up to some very strong winds.
@@Myksgarage how is it with rain? Do the drains work good? Is it loud sitting underneath the roof with the rain hitting it?
i'm in a hurricane area, and studied how the main roof went on so i can disassemble and store quickly if need be.
@@boltonic mine's been great. drains working good.
thinking of using this as a car port. thoughts?
It would be a nice car port!
eBay has some of this size for approx $2000 ...
That's a good deal!
What do you charge to assemble a Purple leaf 10 by 12 gazebo? Thanks
I would charge around $500
Do you know what the weight limit is on the ubolt for a fan
I don't recall, but I wouldn't go more than 20-30 lbs
Where are you located I enjoy the video
Northern Utah near Salt Lake City
Utah
How much cost for installation of 12x20’ in GA 30043?
I don't install these, I'm just a homeowner who bought it and installed it myself. You should look at doing it yourself. It's really not too hard.
How do you use the wrap for curtains
It just wraps around the post with Velcro
How tall is the lower roof on the inside
Like the clearance to walk under it?
Any one do job installing gazebo in Vaughan ont fron Costco gazebi???
Thank
I see one guy he had that gazebo ..it last 20 yeras i often bwalk his home every day.nibsee gazebo look cozy 😅
Nice!
Great review, is your concrete perfectly level or is there some slope?
It's not perfectly level, there is some slope
Did you have to add anything under feet to accommodate the slope or did it just flex some and allow to bolt flat to the concrete?
There was enough give in the posts that it accomdated the slope
I don't understand how to use the curtain tie down
Just strap it to the post
What color do you have
Mine is the "brown" color. It's looks really nice
I like the color thanks
Have a great day
Price??
They are around $2,900 here is a link: amzn.to/3S9rKRi
Would it be easier to assemble the roof on the ground and raise it onto the posts?
I don't think that would work
I paid someone to install it for me, but it is waggling. Is that normal?
Like the posts? I have mine anchored to the concrete and mine doesn't move at all
@@Myksgaragethank you for replying. 🙏
When you anchored it to the concrete, what type of screws or anchors did you use. In the area I live we get gust of wind up to 50mph+
There are concrete anchors that are included with the gazebo, they are like these ones: amzn.to/3N52Dy5
