The people he shot received no hearing or chance to live. There are unfortunately many people who have been exposed to unhealthy substances during their development in utero. They do not become mass murderers. He didn't just snap, he planned this and researched his planned decisions meticulously. Both of his mothers failed him but that is not reasonable premise for mitigation in a mass murder penalty.
You found the problem for his mental health 2 mothers and no father in his life that is the biggest problem in today’s society the lack of nuclear family.

I think this was the defense's strategy all along....I agree, they are trying to set this up for appeal; even at the expense of their reputation because they know the evidence is overwhelming to support the death penalty ruling.
I don’t blame the judge she shouldn’t excuse herself, the defense needs to learn some respect for the judge and her courtroom. This isn’t a trial he already pled guilty this is the penalty phase and the decision will be in the jury’s hands and they didn’t hear any of the arguments between the defense and judge.

@@ElysiumRose that's a big amen! Sentencing shouldn't take this long! Might I reference another Florida case, Ailene Wuornos. She pled guilty to 6 murders and received 6 death sentences and was carried out fairly quickly. This guy tripled her kill count.

In the case of the Parkland shooting, in my opinion the Judge E. Sherer is right. I am against the death penalty for human reasons, the defence for business reasons. If Nikola Cruz (hopefully) will not receive the death penalty, every serial killer will call this defence team to get him of the hook. Very unfair what the defence team is doing - for fame & money

I have no problem that Sherri Pappeni received jail time for what she did & has to pay restitution.
