Country's more Hemingway than Fitzgerald. Can somebody award this guy with the coolest smartest singer ever prize??
Ioana that was a great line
He was a Rhoads Scholar with a Master’s in English Lit from Oxford. Indeed, he is no slouch!
ABSOFRICKINLUTELY
Excellent interview with a living legend!!
Just that voice.
As a child of the 60's, Bob and Kris will always have my ❤💜
Kris don’t try. He’s just cool as all hell .
He is!! He is just cool right down to his soul.
Great man.
I'd love to hear more from Kris.
A hero of mine.
Very insightful! As always, Kris speaks to truth in relation to music and social conscience....very much an under-appreciated artist!
True.
It's strange hearing him talk about America acting like Rambo and food banks over 30 years ago. Hank Williams is also my most played cd in my car today - I guess some things never change.
I have loved him since i was 10 yrs old
Yep, the ills of society he worried about then has become the norm today. Orchestrated as such too. I’ve got $20 bucks that says Kris who was a Democrat has hightailed it towards the Right based on everything that he has publicly spoke out , or sang about.
Yes, submission of egos and a generous helping of Black ... so hungry for your voice...thank you Chris.
"Oh, I'm a daddy, alright."
Yes. He is VERY daddy.
🤣 🤣 🤣
In 30+ years, nothing has changed - in fact, the US has spent even more time "butting in" in other countries. Kris must wonder - along with the rest of us - what it would take to stop this.
I don't think anything will stop it except for violence. I hate violence with a passion but what other option is there? Nothing else will work. But at this point, the powers in charge are way too powerful to not get their way. This is tragic because they can practically do whatever they want to in oppressing and even murdering people and they get away with it on a daily basis. Corporations are running the world now and greed is overpowering morals and logic. Power corrupts absolutely and we are seeing terrible things and its only going to get worse to a point where everyone is living in a police state or surveillance state and we have no freedom to say anything. People are already scared to say anything out of fear. People die for standing up for what's right. Great artists are silenced these days. Bob Dylan no longer writes songs like Masters of War because he knows it won't do one bit of good. If he were ever to get political again, he'd get persecuted so he can't. But anyway...
Intelligent man.
I get smarter every time I watch Kris
Name me a modern singer that is interested in speaking from his/her conscience
He keeps his left hand up like that for a whole 20 minutes.
He also does that in his Ralph Emory interview...
It could be he’s tired of fighting off women!
He has a lot of nervous habits because he is shyer than people realize. Sometimes he keeps brushing his mustache. when he just wears a mustache.
@@BicheBug1996 I doubt very much that he is sending any messages to Rita about eating her heart out. And whether or not he and Lisa have any chemistry is not something any of us would know. Rita was a public celebrity, and their relationship was under a media telescope for the entire period they were together. Lisa is a private person and not a celebrity. Clearly, Kris is very happy with Lisa, and he deeply cherishes his home and family life. As I am writing this, they just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.
"Our foreign policy is shameful". It still is. Nothing has changed.
@Anne O'Nymous Under dumpty? All of them!
He voiced Doc the lone dinosaur in the LBTime 6🤩🤩🦕🦕
Ok right kris
❤this man
Thanks a lot for making this available. However, the date is wrong.
The interview is from late 1985 or early 1986.
Farm Aid was on September 22nd 1985.
Jackson Browne's "Lives in the Balance" was released in 1986.
ask why he doesn't talk about the "wall" coming down during the Reagan and Bush administrations, 'Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall. My friend who was a college student in Luithania told me that she and her classmates were so suprised. "Who is this President Reagan, they asked. We thought the world had forgotten about us."
Jesus,he's 48 here,my age now!
how about Townes Van Zandt?
This can't be 84, must be 86 because farm aid started in 85'.
Elvis gave $ to over 50 charities in
Tennessee alone. He gave away much more than just Cadillacs.
One word answers are what?
How he said he has 5 kids but in fact he is a dad to 8
I love the songs Kris wrote, but I prefer the songs Marty Robbins wrote and sang.
I like them both. Marty seems to be way underappreciated these days as a songwriter. How many people could write El Paso?
Kris lovely man, saw him Belfast 2 yrs ago, busker outside venue better than Kris, at 83 well as past best, waste £40, worst concert I ever attended
As with most, his early work was the best. Last song of his I liked was Shipwrecked in the Eighties.
I love the songs Kris wrote, but I prefer the songs Marty Robbins wrote and sang.
I always liked him, grew up hearing his songs on country radio.
