    Very insightful! As always, Kris speaks to truth in relation to music and social conscience....very much an under-appreciated artist!

    It's strange hearing him talk about America acting like Rambo and food banks over 30 years ago. Hank Williams is also my most played cd in my car today - I guess some things never change.

      Yep, the ills of society he worried about then has become the norm today. Orchestrated as such too. I’ve got $20 bucks that says Kris who was a Democrat has hightailed it towards the Right based on everything that he has publicly spoke out , or sang about.

    In 30+ years, nothing has changed - in fact, the US has spent even more time "butting in" in other countries. Kris must wonder - along with the rest of us - what it would take to stop this.

    • @mysteryjesus
      @mysteryjesus 6 лет назад +1

      I don't think anything will stop it except for violence. I hate violence with a passion but what other option is there? Nothing else will work. But at this point, the powers in charge are way too powerful to not get their way. This is tragic because they can practically do whatever they want to in oppressing and even murdering people and they get away with it on a daily basis. Corporations are running the world now and greed is overpowering morals and logic. Power corrupts absolutely and we are seeing terrible things and its only going to get worse to a point where everyone is living in a police state or surveillance state and we have no freedom to say anything. People are already scared to say anything out of fear. People die for standing up for what's right. Great artists are silenced these days. Bob Dylan no longer writes songs like Masters of War because he knows it won't do one bit of good. If he were ever to get political again, he'd get persecuted so he can't. But anyway...

      @@BicheBug1996 I doubt very much that he is sending any messages to Rita about eating her heart out. And whether or not he and Lisa have any chemistry is not something any of us would know. Rita was a public celebrity, and their relationship was under a media telescope for the entire period they were together. Lisa is a private person and not a celebrity. Clearly, Kris is very happy with Lisa, and he deeply cherishes his home and family life. As I am writing this, they just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

    Thanks a lot for making this available. However, the date is wrong.
    The interview is from late 1985 or early 1986.
    Farm Aid was on September 22nd 1985.
    Jackson Browne's "Lives in the Balance" was released in 1986.

    ask why he doesn't talk about the "wall" coming down during the Reagan and Bush administrations, 'Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall. My friend who was a college student in Luithania told me that she and her classmates were so suprised. "Who is this President Reagan, they asked. We thought the world had forgotten about us."
