Every now and then along comes some troubadours to sing to our souls and remind us what is important. There is probably no one from my generation who does not have a S&G song and a story to go with it. I have more than one but I will not bore you with the details. Life goes by fast and we need help sometimes, a lift when we are down, some help in understanding things we cannot comprehend. After all these years, I'm 72, these songs still stir me and demand action. And isn't that what a troubadour does? We were fortunate to have them part of our lives.

He sings like an Angel that makes me happy to think I'm going to Heaven one day. I do so hope that he's happy down here.
I would imagine he will be floating around heaven too with his angelic voice one day.
He's a beautiful guy, and he made me cry. Again. Thank you for this grand walk down memory lane and the new knowledge of how this man thinks. Also he has my hair :)
Yes,,,,,Bridge over troubled water has made me weep many times over my life,,,,,,voices like Art Garfunkel and Phil Everly , reaches that deep place in me ,,,,,gifts from God for sure,,,,,thank you for sharing this 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
To me Art’s last song (GEM) is one of the very best duets I’ve ever heard. That song really seems to rise above all hit records I’ve ever heard. Like God breathing into our souls such caressing beauty of the enchanting fingerstyle guitar n Art’s knowing how to select such beauties. To give such long lasting musical flavor to folk fans everywhere that is if they are lucky enough to hear it!
The legendary soprano Dame Kiri Te Kanawa was asked once who her favorite voice was and she answered immediately "without a doubt, a young Elvis Presley." I'm also in opera singer, in no way famous and shouldn't even be mentioned in the same paragraph as Dame Kiri, but my answer would be "without a doubt, the voice of the century belongs to Art Garfunkel."
The late Brad Delp of Boston. There's a few others. Art is worthy of a top 20 though.
i vote for my personal fav andrea bocelli
@@elisarleigh4984 Everyone has their favorite. He's very popular with non singers. He has great marketing, that's for sure!
@@baritonebynight nice way to say you think a guy cant sing.....but of course..his voice is no where near what his fans think it is....i would just drop the egotism....if i were you....unless you do....speak for all singers....and i was just unaware of that....
I love Art Garfunkel ‘s voice. It’s like an angelic choir boy’s. As it turns out, a perfect complement to Paul’s voice.
What an elegant man with a lot to say about many things, such an interesting intelligent human, and I can't get enough of listening to him and Paul Simon harmonizing. A remarkable duo the world was lucky to hear.
I love the beauty that is Art Garfunkel. Of course there is the voice but there is also an intelligence and a caring that is evident in everything he does including this interview. I always felt he was on the road to becoming a great actor. I recently started reading his poetry and you will find these qualities throughout.
I wasn't aware that he wrote poetry; now I need to read his poems!
Looove the way he talks!!!
Solutely awesome voice! Love to hear more of him, as well as he and Simon together! Great artistic talent!
A resonance man who was always ahead of his time. Still wonderful after all these years.
And "still crazy", I hope.
Yes, still crazy after all these years...
A renaissance man - and Paul Simon was the still crazy after all these years
Loved this interview with Art Garfunkel by Ken Paulson. Best and intelligent so far. I love when the interviewer is prepared and does not waste time with questions that could be interpreted in different ways. Enjoyed.
I always forget how happy I used to be when I spent my teenage years and early 20's listening to Simon And Garfunkel, considering all the crap in my mind since!!!
It is refreshing to hear one member of a duo that broke up many years ago speak so well of the other member of the duo.
Loren McCann. I absolutely agree. I adore both of them, but have been sad to see their friendship wax and wane, yet finally both beautiful, talented, humanitarian men have the grace of age. They both recognise the essence of each other’s humanity and talent. A true joy to share 😊❤️🌈😘
Art knows that Paul was and will be his bestfriend no matter what..they still respect each other inspite what their friendship is going through.. They are the true examples of friendship....

@@suehartman8084 Thanks for the comment. As a famous DJ once told me, "it's nice to know someone is listening." Stay well, never lose that that thirst for knowledge and truth.
My mother had all their albums and as a young child, I fell-in love with the musical poetry. I played those albums all my life. (Cannot tell you, how wonderful it was, that my mom never struck the song “Cecilia.” Hahaha) Love and appreciate this.
You can always hear Art's heart in his voice, so deserving of his gift as such a blessing for all who hear him sing🙂
This is great! A goldmine of information! Thank you for this!
My 25 year old daughter LOVES Artie. She went to his concert in Phx a few years back. I guess she was the youngest person there. (not surprising!)
What a brilliant guy!
wow... Art still sounds great! Wonderful job on Cathy's song.
What a talent. Blessed to hear it.
Beautiful song. Thank you, Art, for singing this song. I'm not the Kathy this song was written for, but it still meant a lot to me... Kathy
Love Garfunkel and it is crazy how the relationship between Simon and Garfunkel went all this time but I still love all their song and this is a great interview.
Stumbled here while taking a break from revisiting every Buffet video I can find. The music of the artists puts smiles on my face and warms my heart. The interviews do the same for my brain.
I loved Art's voice and he was by far my favorite. I wore his first solo album out!!
Thank you Art. A true humanist. A gentleman. A unique voice, you have given me pleasure since 1969 .
What a beautiful man, such grace. Great interview can't wait to see Part II
What an eloquent spokesman of his (and my) era !!
Could listen to Art talk all day!
Truly angelic voice of all time, Art Garfunkel!
After Christopher Cross who just takes 1st place 👌
@@RogerMelodicMusic Lol. I just can't turn off the music when I play their songs.
Enjoyed this so much , and what a superb voice , reminded again..x
Must be so interesting to have a conversation with Art. That guy is lucky.
Fernanda Salazar A conversation with Art would be a dream come true for me. I don’t want an autograph- I want to sit with him and enjoy his wisdom & details about his life. Of course, this is not likely but it’s still my dream. 💕💕
Paul was the genius, the creator, the hard working musician. Garfunkel, the singing actor !
Art is a lovely man and a great singer. Their sound takes me back to my early teens!
Art’s voice, it’s almost almost like there is an echo deep within it. It’s so soothing and beautiful. He said he knew he had it when he was a child and he said it was a gift.♥️🎼🌹
This is an interview masterclass. The interviewer is impeccable. The discussion is interesting. Garfunkel is extremely articulate and likable. Fascinating and riveting.
An enjoyable interview and singing. I grew up as a kid in the 60's listening to my older sisters Simon and Garfunkel albums. I think she had them all. I bought Art Garfunkels solo album later that included 99 miles from LA and I only have eyes for you. I never saw any of his movies but the music was pure gold.
I glad to experience this interview as I near 79. The music of the 60s lives within my heart!
Oh My! Thank You to All who had a role in this interview and it being here. First time I've decided to save an interview in my, "Special to me" list. Love that it ended with one of my fav songs ... and I have always appreciated Arts extraordinary voice and style. Lets see, do I have the time for the second part? ... I'll make it.
Mr. Garfunkel's rendering of the Paul Simon song is ecstatic and a wonder. Thanks you sir, for it.
