I had so much smiling going on last night at our Vetsin Tech, the Military Rats, investors in our new Ideas. As I took the mic, I asked the one brother brat, "Do you know who our President is?"He smiled and shook a no...I said Kris Kristofferson. He smiled a warm smile, taught our vets brats family how to get their ideas moving forward, Brats and Vets..a story to make a tear come alive.. Jim White, Army Vet & Brat- 9th generation old brat. Salutes Kris for your memories, your love to our humanities here and around the globe.
I only went to one concert in my lifetime and it was to see my all time favorite singers, Kris Kristofferson and Rita Coolidge when they appeared in Fl. back in the 1980's.
This guy is just so unbelievably impressive wow Puts all other well most other artists and men to shame how we conduct ourselves these days Lots and lots to learn from this guy wish I can still meet this giant of a man should I be so lucky to even come close to such an iconic human such as mr kris kristofferson God bless you sir and just keep going and doing what you did and still do Thank you for being you
Oh so right, thank you, you reverberated my very thought and emotions for this Greatest Country Icon and knowing him deeper as he grows... i hv been stuck to his music since 1980.... oh, i wish, n send a Biiiiiig Huuuug to him.
Willie Nelson was the presenter at the Veteran of the Year award ceremony. Here is the full text of his speech honoring his friend Kris Kristofferson: "You know Kris loves America and he loves all the good things she stands for. And, he believes in truth and justice. Kris Kristofferson believes in people and in the underdog, that the better angels in all of us should prevail and will if you stand up for them. "And, I think it's pretty safe to say that if Kris' life had gone in another direction -- had he stayed in the Army, he would be a general today. And he would be the kind of general that they wrote songs about in the days of yore. "But, instead he became one writing the songs. And our lives have been forever enriched by it. I know mine has been. "I don't know exactly what would've happened if Kris' life had taken a different direction and had he become that general. But, I do know one thing: I know some things would not have happened. He would not have stopped being a leader, and he would not have stopped fighting for everything right and decent in the world, and he would still believe in the things that make America great. "So, the Army may have lost a general but the world gained a conscience."
Well follow that if you can very few of us would receive an epitaph ever from anyone but coming from a friend gosh soooooo amazing and also true soooooo true
I hope military honors are included in his funeral service. He was 1 year younger than my dad and shared his views on Vietnam, and the way those views changed with time. My dad was career military but any time served makes you no less a brother, and like Kris, my sister and I are brats. I found connection in BRATS: Our Journey Home that he was part of.
Kris Kristofferson, 80, is very much alive and well. He just released a new album The Cedar Creek Sessions, and is currently on a world tour. He will appear in concert today (May 17) at Southern Theater in Columbus, Ohio.

Fortunate enuff to shake his hand after a show in San Diego. Even at 80 he has a righteous working class grip
