  • Full Multi cam show from Detroit Michigan with great sound quality!
Van Halen were on fire from the beginning of the show and didn't let up until the end. A few performances stand out in particular on this video: Everybody Wants Some, Somebody Get Me a Doctor, Women In Love, and Girl Gone Bad, which hadn't been performed in 28 years. All are very fun to watch and listen to.... and full of that Van Halen "magic." Four new songs were also featured at this show. She's the Woman, Chinatown, Tattoo, and That's the Trouble with Never.
The show was edited by IamThePapa. The process was a bit challenging since many of the cameras lacked image stabilization. The video quality varies throughout the show, but is very watchable. The audio recording is great and also really allows you to hear Wolfgang extremely well. It's impressive what he can do on the bass and how he has embellished the original bass lines of the Classics.
    AUDIO Details:
    Lineage: Sony ECM DS70P/Sony MZ-NH700/SP Batt Bax w/ B.R.O. @ 95 /SonicStage/GoldWave / CDWave /FLAC(3)
    Location: Section 223, row 11
Taper: VH Drummer (The J Man)
Hope you all enjoy this fantastic Van Halen Multicam show in Detroit, Michigan, February 20th 2012. Second Night of the 2012 Tour for the new album " A Different Kind Of Truth."
We'd like to thank Van Halen for lettin' us bring our cameras to the shows.
We'd also like to give a special thanks to the people whose cameras were used the most in this show:

Rock in Peace my Friend... 🎸🎸🎸.... Artists are the ultimate immortals... Their work lives on,..And beyond.. themselves...Wolfgang just did a single release of a dedication to Eddie Called "DISTANCE". Videos were found from Valerie's personal archive. Wolfie plays all instrumentals and vocals. Vocals were arranged at Wolfies studio and instrumental work was comprised at his father's 5150 studio. His first Album release coming in early 2021. You can find it here: ruclips.net/video/HI3aPJkZmNU/видео.html

No one expects him to sound the same. His singing isn’t the issue. He’s just doing too much. At the start of hot for teacher, he just needs to shut up and let Eddie and Alex play. At the end of somebody get me a doctor, he tries to build some epic ending but eddie is just standing there waiting for him to stop being an idiot and cue the end of the song. It had to be embarrassing for them to have to deal with Dave.

Dear Eddie did something incredible for his son before he passed away. After he learned all that he could in life while becoming one of the greatest guitar icons our world has known, he had one thing left to do. He invited his son to join his family as a member of the mighty Van Halen and go on tour. For Eddie to have his son onstage would of felt incredible. For his son to be with his family in Van Halen, such an icon band with his Dad on guitar must of felt so great that it was surreal. What a beautiful dad Eddie was to give that gift to his son.

Not anymore. In the old days, VH days and his solo career in the 90s, when Dave actually tried live he wasn't too bad. But usually his showmanship, goofing off, partying on stage etc...was more important than his musicianship. I remember reading a guitar mag interview with Eddie back in the early 90s and he was asked why they never did a live album with Roth and he said because of Dave's showmanship over musicianship....Dave never cared or was great live, was an embarassment at times.. Then they turn around and do a live album from the 2012 tour/Tokyo with Dave. The live album with Sammy had Eddie taking some tracks/songs back into the studio to tweak or re-record and I have no idea why they did that back then because Sammy can actually sing and certainly I'm sure the original live recordings were just fine....especially after I saw them in 91 and 95.

VH is one of five rock bands EVER that have had two albums (Van Halen and 1984) sell more than ten million copies in the US- nuff said about the Dave era! The Dave era catalogue of songs is the epic timeless stuff.

I know right these assholes are like dave can't sing worth shit I'm pretty sure he can sing better than 90% of these people hating on him. he's 59 not 30, he's 59 I want these people to sing for almost 4 hours every night for almost 3 months straight at his age and running around the stage enjoying what he's doing. of course van halen won't have their same energy as in the 80's but for their age they have more energy than most bands today.

I don't know what everyone is bitching about. I actually thought this was a fantastic performance! I saw Van Halen in the Diver Down tour and for the 1984 tour. For DD, DLR was incredible. For 1984 he was pretty obnoxious. I just watched a 1984 show and he was pretty drunk and forgot a lot of the words and often missed a lot of verses. I think here he's very lucid, very present and he remembers the words. Has his voice gone downhill? Well, geez, yeah, a LITTLE given his age, but it's really not bad at all. I'm a much bigger fan of the band Rush, and while I hate to say it, Geddy's voice has deteriorated dramatically live. I only wish he sounded as good as DLR did. I loved this video/concert and think they're doing amazing.
