This video is so cute and made me laugh. Between your reaction after the first taste, and then your parent's conversation- too funny. Perfect timing to come across your video, as I just saw kumquats at the store and wondered what to do with them. I'm going to make this! Thank you for such an authentic and cute video, even though you were sick.

My kumquats have cured for 20 years in a jam jar and are now black. I’ve just opened it and put it in a tea and it’s super potent

How long can it be kept in the fridge?

The best way is to put it out side under the sun for couples of months .use it for later the longer you keep the result is better

You have to cure it for months and can be kept for years and it ages better and you can easily mash it up with your spoon in the mug. Add hot water and honey and it’s the best cold and sore throat buster

I love Kumquat, but they are hard to get here. If you get some of those other natural recipes from your dad, please share.

    OMG, I love your parents!
When my brothers and I were kids and had coughs, my dad would mix Christian Brothers brandy and honey together in about a 99 to 1 ratio and have us take it. Whenever I tell people about it they always ask if it worked.
"I don't remember. That entire week is kind of fuzzy, actually."
Mom had us gargle the hottest saltwater we could stand if we had a sore throat and that always gave some relief. I think this works in the same way, but because you drink it instead of spitting it out, the kumquat and honey help repress the burn of the salt.
Of course, I liked Dad's remedy better. What I remember of it, anyway =)
