  • Got extra lemons or limes? Use them up in this refreshing Vietnamese drink!
    In Vietnam, we called lemons preserved in a salty brine Chanh Muối and the refreshing iced drink made with them, Nước Chanh Muối.
    Nuoc Chanh Muối is made with a mixture of preserved lemons, ice, sugar, and water. Sometimes carbonated/soda water is used instead, Soda Chanh Muối.

    Alright, I am very brave culinarily... but this might be my limit. Will just have to wait until I go to someone's house and they offer me this (and I can't refuse because it would be impolite). I actually can't imagine this tasting pleasant... then again I did work up the bravery to have century egg on congee and that was fine.

    I’d love to make this, but there are so many kinds of sea salt. Could you tell me specifically what kind of sea salt to use?

    I just watched another clip that showed a different way to make pickled lemon. After washing and drying the lemon, she packed them tightly in a jar and sprinkled kosher salt on the lemon in the jar, put the lid on the jar and left them out in the sun for three months. My question is will the pickled lemon, your way and hers, come out tasting pretty much the same? Thank you.
