Our Montreal travel guide! I don't know what I expected from Montreal but it certainly wasn't what I got. What a place. It really feels like Montreal shouldn't exist, it's such a strange confluence of cultures. But I am so glad it does. And I finally got to experience my Montreal food unicorn - poutine. Glorious, wonderful, Montreal poutine. Absolutely worth waiting 43 years for! Montreal, you have my heart...despite the clogged arteries.

Being originally from Montreal, and can say that he is spot on with everything he said in this video. By far the best Montreal video that I have come across. Wow! He really spent the time to understand the culture and explained it in a simple way. All facts presented are true.

As good a presenter he is, this was disappointing and had little depth. He went to two food places and they were standard. Schwartz’s? Really? Just a little lazy. You want proper smoked meat? Montrealers go to the Snowden Deli. That’s but one example.

Thankfully, in four, maybe 5 years, we should have the Trudeau airport connected to the new regional metro. It's been a long time coming, really. I am almost anxiously waiting for the relatively fast (20 minutes to downtown) and frequent trains of the REM.

Great review with lots of practical comments. Poland? I think bagels and smoked meat recipes came to Montreal from the Ukraine. If you don't want to tip, it's not impossible but it's considered an insult (i.e. if you truly got bad service and want to send a message). The traditional French practice is to leave four pennies but alas, there are no more pennies in Canada, so bring pennies from another country. (No tipping allowed at Wilensky's).

As a Montrealer I really appreciate and approve your video about my city but there’s one thing I have to say, contrary to your earlier statement in the video I must say that for me Trudeau airport is one of the most excellent and exciting airport in the world if you know where to look.
Apart from that comment I really enjoyed your video of Montreal.

@@attachetravel My favourite places for poutine would be Chez Claudette in the Plateau, for the sheer variety, and Restaurant AA in St-Henri, specifically for their Italian poutine, which is made with a kind of bolognese. Other noteworthy places are La Pataterie in Hochelaga and Paul Patates in Point St Charles. Otherwise, Ma Poule Mouillée across the street from La Banquise make an amazing piri-piri and linguiça poutine.
Other than that, I always like to get my poutine with a steamie, a Montreal hot dog dressed with mustard, relish, onions and sauerkraut.

Montreal is not the quaint old Montréal or the generic downtown. Nope , Montréal is about it's borough like le plateau, Rosemont , la petite patrie , etc . Its outside spiral staircase, it's parks , its life on it's balcony etc

Unfortunately, ever since COVID St-Viateur Bagel is no longer open 24h, it currently (2024) closes at Midnight. However, Fairmount Bagel is still open 24h.
Good news is that there will be a new rapid train connection directly downtown from the airport (called the R.E.M.) coming in next year (2025?) or so.

Same for British and american, do americans speak english ? ..... Quebec language law bill 101 is protecting our culture and language.... even the STOP sign is written in french in Quebec ARRET ...in France it is stop , France is parking and Quebec is stationnement ...etc
