The Magnuson - Moss act of 1975 was used to force Harley to comply with the law regarding warranties. For the last 40 years,, Harley ( along with other company's) have violated the laws
I bought my 1983 FXWG thru military Sales. The local Harley dealer honored the Warranty. I installed new exhaust pipes and Carburetor, bought at that dealer. They honored the warranty when I started having problems with the electronic ignition. They didn't charge me for trouble Shooting. I had a Independent shop install points. Cost $30 in 84. Still ride that motorcycle. The local Harley dealer closed here in July.
I have heard so many people gripe about warranty and upgrades. Yea, I'm going to warranty something you change on your own??? What Harley does protects themselves as a warranty should. Their the ones paying for the fix. Good video WJr.
It's your bike you should be able to put any product you want them voiding your warranty is to get you to buy their Harley parts and they're expensive mechanic hours that's all it is
So you should be able to put anything you want in it and you want Harley to stand behind it? Are you really saying this? That would be a super deal. I’m glad Harley is not that stupid.

Why doesn't he explain what voids the warranty
I just bought another new HD, I went with a 6 year warranty. I probably won't do much performance wise. Theres alot of slip on exhausts that don't " truly" need a tuner. Save the stock ones, just in case. I just got my bike back getting my ordered extras yesterday. Got awesome weather today. Im some eggs and bacon away from hitting the road.....

Do the slip ons add a difference on the sound? I think stock is a little quiet

I just tell them I'm not buying anything. Sometimes they just set it aside. Sometimes they give me the "I am required to do this" speech and give a quick abbreviated attempt.
I don't let them walk me through the clothes and helmets, I don't want to meet with the service manager. I'm just buying a motorcycle thanks.
What if you buy "Rush " slip on's or any brand that dealership sells from the dealership and have the dealership install the stage 1 with the Rush slip on's , still under warranty ?
Harley will only cover Harley products. Anything aftermarket such as the Rush slip on's will only be covered by that specific dealer.
It’s a rip off! I bought a new breakout in 2019 and the gearbox was faulty. The dealer wouldn’t do anything!!!!!

Wow, he said he just pays the guys in the back and keep riding. Give me a break. Only Harley parts, installed by Harley dealership to keep warranty. Well that sucks. I’m a brand new owner and this does not set well.
It varies from dealership to dealership. They make this shit up as it goes along .. Bottom line . Learn how to work on your own bike and keep it running correct yourself..

Legend are something that Harley actually install from what I was advised. Legends are a great aftermarket suspension.
