She live through like 3 emperors was super Amazing that she saw everything, unfortunately almost noone saw her but she live a lot I can say that she lived peacefully maybe she never look for favour. She is indeed a person I would love to know more about it
For me, it seems like these consorts would prefer normal life, less pressure, no ambition and also I think they don't care about emperor's love too much that give them to live longer
Life for a unpopular consort seems like it’s terrible, being ignored by the emperor must be very cold life. Please do a video on Emperor Kangxi’s sons fighting for the throne and how they finally decided to choose the next emperor.
On both Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace and Story in Yanxi Palace, Empress Dowager Chongqing (mother of Emperor Qianlong) had a daughter but, according to some research, the empress dowager only had one child and was Emperor Qianlong. Can you make a video for it?
Yes, curious too. The same Empress dowager, Hongli's (foster?) mother, is Zhen Huan in Empresses in the Palace. She has several children in that C-drama.
@@realmofthesenses She did NOT have several children in the drama, what are you talking about? She miscarried two, had a daughter, given Hongli, and had twins. That is not several children.
The ones not involved in the drama of high ranking harem women lived longer in this case. I like that Ding got to go with her son. I'm curious Miss Bing, which emperor impressed you the most?

Loved the video, If theres have an Dowager imperial noble consort, would she have a higher status than the empress or would she still as a 2nd rank even being a dowager from the late emperor?
In my understanding, dowager consorts of any rank including the empress dowager are respected out of filial piety. However the reigning empress consort is formally the most powerful woman in the harem. So I guess technically the reigning empress humbles herself at her own will out of filial piety, and not because her rank is officially lower. I could be wrong.
@@twinoferos because the Empress dowager is technically the mother of "the sun of heaven" I was always under the impression that she had in many ways the strongest role. Filial piety did play a large role but she was even able to put her supporters in place if she was smart enough. Not to mention she would be addressed first even if the Emperor and Empress was present.
Empress consorts would be required to show filial piety to a dowager imperial noble consort since they are usually both their senior and a vice empress dowager in all but name. This would especially come into play if there is no living empress dowager. Empress Xiaojingcheng is one example that comes to mind as during the reign of her step son, the Xianfeng emperor, Empress Xiaojingcheng only had the rank of imperial noble consort but because Xianfeng's mother, Empress Xiaoquancheng, died prior to her son's ascension, this made her the highest ranking dowager, granting her special privileges akin to an empress dowager which include selecting candidates to become Xianfeng's consorts (Empress Dowager Ci'an and Cixi were among the candidates chosen). Other examples include Imperial Noble Consort Wenjing (Emperor Guangxu's concubine), Imperial Noble Consort Gongsu, Imperial Noble Consort Xianzhe, and Imperial Noble Consort Dunhui (all three the concubines of Emperor Tongzhi) who were in charge of the upbringing of Puyi, the last emperor of China, after their superior, Empress Dowager Longyu, died.
This is very interesting. This is the first time I've heard of an imperial offspring being entrusted to the care of a lady-in-waiting and not an imperial woman. Is the Consort Yu mentioned in this video the one who was fictionalised as the villainous dowager Consort with the villainous Prince as her son in Story of Yanxi Palace?
@Raunak That's very interesting. I didn't know that she was really struck by lightning. Emperor Jiaqing's sudden death does warrant questions so anything is possible till proven otherwise.
I love the hair styles and decorations in all these shows. Where they really like that. I know about the hair thing but only cause of a documentary about it.

Noble Consort Yu could have been an Empress Dowager since she lived quite long enough and like every consorts there is she survived and gone through the shits of Emperor Qianlong, the harem and palace politics
Wow, what a life of those long living women. They are survivors. Can you talk about what it means to be first or second rank prince? I know you mentioned about the concubine ranks before
I think it's just she's not favoured. Qianlong didn't like her like he did to another concubines. Various reason, maybe because of face, or maybe she's not really that capable to get into the "high society" people since she's just a tribute from her hometown.
