The show has fantastic looking CGI models, but the battles look disappointing. Some changes are needed. For example, adding more movement to the ships. Everything stands still during battle. There's hardly any movement.
The protostar definitely didn't sit still in combat, neither did the fighters. Voyager was initially trapped in a siphoning beam and later disabled, the big ship attacking them was far too large to merit any combat maneuvers.
Have you seen any of the battles with the protostar? That thing moves alot. In this particular battle voyager is locked down by the energy drain, and as soon as the protostar gets crewed it starts zooming around, as do the fighters once they get launched
No? Big ship attacking a hero ship and then being saved by a different ship is hardly owned by jj star trek, deep space nine did it first with the defiant being assisted by a peregrine fighter during the battle of mirror ds9 vs a klingon negh'var.
