I just found myself reading all the video commentaries in Michael Barone’s voice

This was a great performance of this work. Not too many Catholic churches today could pull this off.

For those commenting that this work requires two organs, this performance did use two organs. Both the gallery organ and the main organ were used in this performance/recording. The video does not do a good job of showing this, but even then it is possible to see that the console in use in the up close video of the console is different from the console used in the balcony with the choir.

I sang this mass in Saint Sulpice with 2 organs (the great Cavaille-Coll)...The echo effect between the 2 organs and the 2 choirs is necessary to appreciate this opus.
But it's always nice to hear this piece.

Two organs were used in this performance. The video doesn't do a good job of showing the main organ in context. If you watch carefully when they show the choir, you can catch glimpses of the gallery organ being played. Every close up view of an organ console in this video is showing the console of the main organ.

Hi Charles ! When did you sing at Saint-Sulpice ? I sang myself in 1987 in Saint-Sulpice in the Voices choir, with the French Army Choir

I did not appreciate the snarky comment about "prots." Music in Protestant churches often far surpasses the junk often heard in parishes of a different Christian body. And this church has top-notch music every Sunday, too.

Certainly in the UK all the good Church music is performed in the Anglican Church.

    hi,
it is a very nice Interpretation. I want to add a note: this is also a mass for TWO organs.
So your Organist made a Version for one organ and is quite busy playing all this notes on one Instrument.
    greetings from Germany
    Uli M.

Oh, right. Hardly music that makes sense for a Congregational or Methodist Church.
They even sing like Prots. Nice try.

The only thing, this organ is nothing, not even a taste compared to St. Sulpice hahaha. But good recording, I wish more of Widor's music would get out besides his organ symphonies.

notredameswarrior1 It’s a Schoenstein... Overly refined to the point of being bland.
