We are currently rehearsing with Canticorum Iubilo Choir this wonderful composition for the April concert at St. Ignatius in Prague. I enjoy every note of it.
Widor's masses are so significant to me. I was part of my school's chapel choir from the age of 9 until 18. With them I performed works such as Mozart's Requiem, Bach's St John Passion, Handel's Messiah, and many many more, but I remember that the first ever major work I did with the choir as a 9 year old boy was Widor's masses, and that caused me to fall in love with choir and singing, and I am now a student at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Listening to this and singing along with each voice group is like a journey through my whole childhood and I have been brought to tears. Thank you for this.
Wow! This is on a par with the best recordings of this I've ever heard. SUPERB! Only RC choir I have ever known to match this was the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen, Baltimore under Adric Macsisak's leadership.
Spectacular! This chapel is just beautiful, and the Austin organ speaks for itself. Wonderful Mass from Widor, which was obviously composed at a period between his first two symphonic cycles {SYMs 1-4 Op.13 - - - SYMs5-8 Op.42 - - - SYM Gothique Op.70 - - - SYM Romaine Op. 73 There was also a Symphony No. 3 for organ and orchestra
A few years ago our choir was invited to sing the Sunday services at St Edmunsbury in England. After Evensong we met up with th3 cathedral's organist who had been an organ scholar to our music director He showed us the note that had been passed around the officiating clergy ...it read " We have a right one here!"
Still the best recording of this relatively unknown masterpiece! I still hope to sing this stunning work one day,,, still hoping!
A wonderful choir. Bravo.

Magistral, magnifique, grandiose !
Magnifique... Merci Johann de nous partager tout ça ! De Québec.
Magnificent performance. Was sorry not to hear the full acoustic decay after the last note of the Kyrie.
A fantastic and inspiring performance of a wonderful composition! Thank you!
Beltissimo!
A very athletic conductor!

The Sanctus is really joyful.
The organ of Johann Vexo is roaring.
It is like the Louis Vierne Mass usually dung at Notre Dame de Paris Cathedrale with the organ roaring like a lion.
A good sympatheticchoir.
Widor is a real master like Bach.
The sense of religiousness is very high in the Agnus Dei.
what kind of coat of arms is this?
Presumably the city of Hartford, Connecticut, USA.
