How can music be at once invigorating and calming?
Yet this is!
THIS is sacred liturgical music, not the infamous My little pony mass parts heard throughout the USA these days.
My soul just soars at 4:27 (and so does that conductor!)
Excellent, Excellent Performance!!! Musically, there is so much to praise. What impressed me the most is that people of many ages were in the choir. The experience of this music will live with the young ones for the rest of their life.
A wonderful piece, set for tenor voice ( second register) as was Faure' requiem.
If I recall, this piece was originally premiered at St. Sulpice, with Widor on the main organ, and Vierne on the choir organ. Such an underrated piece!
Thank you for posting the entire piece! Wonderful!
...wow, masterful playing by Latry and what brilliant singing by the dedicated choir! ❤
Messe Solenelle by Vierne is a new and nice experience to me. Man thanks for this enjoyable presentation.
Beautiful music !! 👍👍💙💙Vierne !!beautiful choir
Great interpretation, great choir and conductor... You lucky, having Olivier Latry. Congratulations. Greeting from Mexico👍👍
Beautiful!!
That 32' reed!!!
Been there to hear it in person!
This was so much fun to watch! 1. It's Vierne (and Monsieur Latry, not going to lie!), and 2. You get to hear the difference between the choir organ against the main one, and it was a fantastic contrast. Thanks for sharing this with us!
Such a moving performance. Lovely singers. Some of them knew their parts by heart. Isn t it admirable?
Thank you very much. Beautiful images as well.
The refinery of the small organ is exquisite.

Bellissima interpretazione di una potentissima messa!
How wonderful this is! Terrific performance! I'm so happy to have discovered it and I thank you for sharing it.
Everyone was incredible. I really enjoyed this. Thank You ☺️
Nice organ sound and the wonderful Mr. Latry, what can you wish more?
Brilliant performance!!!
Finest performance of this great work. Unfortunately too rarely performed. It was one of my favourites to conduct and listening to this has given me the bug to do it again sometime!
thats because it just never sounds as good without the Notre dame organ
Arguable.... but that shouldnt stop us from performing it and hearing it more.
Its some terrific writing!
@@SPrescott2611 no doubt, its just that most English and American churches and their organs don't have the power or size required. think if a chamber orchestra tried to play a Mahler symphony with such a small size. american churches are also fairly modern, it really truly does take a medieval cathedral to create the amount of sound. English cathedrals organs are sub par to French ones, and a significant amount of American organs are from the 60s-80s. churches from the 1800s are wood brick and plaster, and cathedrals are mostly highquality solid wood and stone. even worse most modern ones are concrete and plywood and the organs in those arr electric or very small
This organ is well over 100 ranks and the building is friendly to it as well.
I played this organ a while ago had no idea Latry himself had played it…..
FABULOUS
sem comentarios, parece o ceu.....
In EEN woord: GEWELDIG!
PARAMOUNT !!
Latry FTW ^_^
A fabulous performance if you take you eyes off the choirmaster giving a martial arts lesson.
Dear one, when you conduct amateur singers (however good they are, and THEY ARE GOOD ❤️) you have to behave strangely!!!! Just think that you owe this beautiful choral sound to these strange, but precise and expressive gestures!
If it works don’t knock it!
I agree... The performance is great but I just can't bear watching the conductor.
it is not that easy to watch but I think it is absolutely neccessary
@@clivesoThe singers aren't ranked, makes it difficult to direct.
