Houndstooth Beanie Crochet Pattern

- The Houndstooth Beanie crochet pattern is a wonderful crochet beanie where it is all about the colour! The body of the hat is worked in a stitch pattern that, when worked by alternating between two colours, is called the houndstooth stitch (when worked in a solid colour, it's often referred to as the lemon peel stitch!). The stitch pattern is quite easy to work as it is only single crochet and double crochet stitches. You're going to love it!

I’m such a goof! All these years I stayed away for herringbone stitches bc I thought they were sc/SS each stitch. But I could have just done this crunch stitch?!?! Beautiful look, simple, love it, thank you :)
Excellent tutorial. Love hounds tooth stitch. Thank you

Love this pattern. You make the houndstooth looks so easy. Thank you for sharing. I love the way you work from the bottom up and decrease at the top so there’s not so much bulk.

What a great idea for the combination of colors. Thanks for the tutorial!
Beautiful and easy hat. Greetings from Gothenburg, Sweden
Thank you for sharing. Nice hat pattern. Can use with any colors.
I love your crochet hook. This is my first time watching your channel. Can you please tell me where you purchased it. Now I also need to remind myself that I have a million crochet hooks. I like the one that you are using because of the metal tip.
Thank you
I love this hat!!
Absolutely lovely pattern. ❤
Stunning!!
I love this pattern!!! Thank you!!!!❤
l need to try this pattern for my next project. Looks easy enough but then reality kicks in....🤣
This is just beautiful ❤️
Just finished. I love the houndstooth stitch. Mine turned out to be a slouchy hat. Did I do something wrong?
I am working this pattern. I don't know why yours looks better than mine, even with me following instructions completely. I think 10 rows of main color is too much. I am doing half that amount and the hat is still large enough. You have no picture of what it's supposed to look like when it's on someone's head! I am using a size 4mm hook and 6 less stitches and hat is still large for adult. I am not giving up though. I want to make different colors using this pattern. Thank you so much for your pattern.
❤❤❤I just love this! @richtexturecrochet
Did anyone find the matching cowl? I can’t find it.
It will be available on Monday morning :)
You make the slip stitch look so easy but for me not so much.

Maravilhosa ❤❤❤❤
Could this be done in a spiral top down or would spiral throw off the lovely herringbone-like pattern?
❤
Would you have pattern for a 4 year old,,please?
Español 🙏
What is the color of the original hat??? Navy and white from color theory??? Thanks
Yes - the original are Admiral (navy) and Ivory (off white)
How do you keep the slip stitch brim edges even ? I tried this stitch, but the edges don't stay even.
Am I the only one with this question ?
Maybe a tutorial just for that.....
It can be challenging as sometimes the stitches on the ends pull tight and get “lost.” When starting off, one thing that helped me was placing stitch markers in the first stitch and in the last. This way they don’t pull too tight and can be easily found when you get turned around
@RichTexturesCrochet ok thanks ! I'll give that a try. I've done knitting all my life as well as some simple crochet. But the Granite Beanie and the Moonbeam Beanie are lovely and I'd like to try the crochet. I appreciate the feedback.
