Anyone watching until the diagnostic part at the end, if you don't have a cheap smoke machine. Holy crap what a handy tool. Vacuum leaks, exhaust leaks, sometimes even fuel tank leaks(gas cap). Life changing tool
It's so cool to see Derek have a show on OReilly AND to see him interviewing Jared! Though that Blue Yeti microphone without a plug seems a little odd to me :D
I loved the video that you guys did restoring that old van, I’m now considering doing a van project myself I would’ve never thought it possible to be able to do it if not for you and all the other people on RUclips who don’t try to restore cars to Mint Condition but merely make them into daily drivers

I'm a huge fan of VGG since the fateful day I stumbled apon a guy in a field wrenching on an old white Cadillac. Since then I discovered guys like Puddin & Mortske, the guys at Turning Rust & others. I'm not a car/truck dude or mechanic but this content beats the heck out of anything on TV! 👍
I only go to O'Reilly's in the past 4-5 years largely in part (no pun intended) because of Derek B. I'm a huge fan of all the things Jared and Derek do. Looking forward to this series. Hey from Boston Massachusetts !

Only way to get it done "cheap" is to literally just slam it in with stock trans, harness, and ecm. I've seen swaps done for less that a grand but they don't look great.
A guy had the same vibration you talked about during the "Help me Understand" portion. Did the same list ya'll spoke about. and still had the vibration. (balanced driveshaft, new u-joints, etc) When I decided to just replace the rear tires (thinking a broken belt inside tire) and found a bunch of water/fix-a-flat stuff inside one of the tires....... Yeah. Emptied out that muck, reassembled and balanced the tire, and car was cured.. Yeah, water inside the tire caused the vibration over 60mph
Pretty sure they already recorded an episode. Saw a very short clip on Puddins last video of him and Derek sitting together at a table with cameras and mics set up around them. Cant wait for that episode.

Interview with Jared was awesome...but holy moley, I could watch 17 hours of the "Help Me Understand" segment with a couple experts answering everyday questions that I've run into in the past that have had me stumped! Great show!

You should not use this channel with other known You Tubers, and try to find Never ever known of peoples like myself that can tell you of their experinces of building a Hot Rod with out any of the High Tech Shops, and massive High Teck tools and equipement, and no Resorces of prebuilt parts, or computers to find parts ect. Like back in my day building some of the Sketchiest rigs you ever saw with a Wroked some times AC buzz Boxes, and wore out wrenches taken from their dad's farm shop, using a 1950's tractor with a loader, or the rafters of a garage to set motors in. There has to be so many out there who were like me done all them things that wach ya channells? Most of your builds when you get into the LS motors, and the new Dodge hemis you gotta run with a computer, you really loose my intrest totally because I have no desire to even see some of that stuff work. BECAUSE it takes the WHOLE INTIRE MEANING of true HOT RODDING AWAY from what the world of hotrodding was about.
Thanks guys although I live in the U.K. I really enjoyed this chat. It’s a shame that we are so over regulated in this miserable country we don’t get to do what you do (it would be prohibitively expensive anyway). It’s also a shame we don’t have stores like O’Rieilly here
The 2001 expedition sounds like the Coupler is bad on the Fan Clutch messed up fan shroud or a bad fan clutch itself it shouldn't turn it should immediately stall if the fan clutch was good
My biggest takeaway from this is that Derek roadtrips exactly like I do, so if we were ever on a trip together, our families would be reporting us overdue-presumed-missing pretty much every day. "How did it take you _fifteen hours_ to cover 300 miles?" :)

Ok I love both Derek and Jared. I found this by accident which is sad that it wasn’t pushed by the YT algorithm. My only observation is what is with the Blue Yeti microphone sitting on the table with no cable plugged into it? Did Oreillys think they needed a prop mic? You can see Derek’s lavalier microphone. I just found it odd and I couldn’t stop staring at the big silver unplugged microphone. It’s like a sema car with Bluetooth brakes but Blue Yeti needs a usb cable.

95 Ford computer can't control a decked out custom engine like that I would use a holly terminator computer system for that beastly upgraded motor
3 valve tritons had the spark plug issue for the 5.4l v8 and the 6.8l v10
