This was groundbreaking at the time. No other group actually mashed up the songs, like PTX did. They just sang one song and then another, while PTX intertwined them. It was breathtaking. ❤ Cannot wait for #12 !

This arrangement was such a bop the first time I heard it. This mix is the real beginning of their medley journey. It was fun and the story they told with the choreography perfectly accented the lyrics. Kirstie and Avi were too cute together, she and Scott timed those lyrics perfectly and Kevin/Avi were just spot on with the bass and percussion. Mitch was holding down the harmony. Thinking back about how they had to arrange these songs week after week, I’m still in awe of them. Still one of my favorites.
I laughed when you made a face when Sara said she was “grooving like a loser”- I’ve always wondered why she said that. It sounds like an insult to them imo! Even though the judges didn’t seem to me to be as enthusiastic about this arrangement as the other things they’ve done, I think it was magical how PTX magnificently melded and mashed the music in a way that was innovative and creative- a precursor to their meticulous method of molding masterpieces 😜 😁. Yay #12 next! Make sure to do the Season 4 finale when they come back to perform I Need Your Love.
I loved this one! Definitely will check that performance out as well.
As someone who thinks songs aren't worth wasting time on if they don't *make* you groove along, I was definitely ticked off at that comment of Sara's. :/ It's like she thinks you're supposed to just sit there all cynical and yeah-I've-seen-this-before-yawn, and if you actually *show* any enthusiasm that makes you a loser, which is insulting to the viewer/listener, not the artist. Still, as a listener, she can kiss my ass while I groove along to Pentatonix's awesomeness, and other artists' too.
She just meant that she was having so much fun she forgot to analyze. Not an insult.
They arrange and transition better than probably any group over the last decade or more.
It is probably not close.
Can anyone think of a group that is better than them at arranging?
PTX has two Grammys for arranging....Does anyone else have two?
As Scott said, this is the most important performance. There were four groups at this point and the three remaining after elimination would move on to the finals.

I heard this it seems like a million times, and I've never heard them out of tune in this song. There was a follow up song after episode 12 where they were out of tune, but there were issues with their ear buds contributing to that.
yes, the last performance in the competition is 12. But before you react to the Superfruit reaction (which is hilarious), you should react to "I Need Your Love" when they came back to perform and mentor the subsequent Sing Off show. Since you are also familiar with Home Free, you might like this longer version which shows PTX providing guidance to that years contestants.

There is a performance where they come back for season 4 and sing I Need Your Love ❤️ ❤❤ I know you already did the official video for that song but I absolutely love the live performance and hope you include it!!!

And here, he gets to shine and Avi gets a singing part too where he didn't do any in the Sing Off either so it is really cool to see those two sparkle!

Wasn't that great? It was truly "masterful." So this is #5 on my list. I wish it could have been higher, but I'm not going to create ties in a Top Five list! So now you know--the final competition performance, "Dog Days Are Over," is my #1 favorite. I think it's surely #1 or #2 on everybody's list! You're in for yet another treat, Saeed.

The 12th is technically their last performance in the competition but they did perform twice on the finale night when the winner was announced So you should do those as well and of course the victory song. You should just watch the video when the winner was announced because it was torture. I remember watching it live and Nick opens the envelope to see where the winner is and I want to say so much time passed before he actually said their name.

I've gone back and watched the season a few times. Of the groups, PTX was the only one who truly did a mash up.
You are wrong. There's #12, the "live" performance which has the sound messed up, the nick Lachey performance, when they win, the superfruit reaction, the Christmas approaches, and the season 4 finale. So, lots more.

I really didn't care for #13 (don't really like the song to begin with and the sound issues definitely made it worse), but I like Una Noche and LOVE Need Your Love!
There are still the non-competition performances of Without You (technical problems), Una Noche (with Nick Lachey), and I Need Your Love. There is also the video where they were declared the winners.
