It would be nice if more sports were in 4K, especially the finals.
Right in time for the finals
idk why i watch this. i already bought an LG C1 oled years ago (thanks digital trends), i never care to change picture modes. but i watch every one of caleb’s videos. no idea why i like them but i find him very chill and pragmatic and, yeah, idk. but keep it going dude. i’m here for it
Just in time for Roland Garros! After watching, didn’t change anything that I had already tweaked. Helpful though.
Why is OLED recommended for watching sports? So many people online experience issues with blurry picture quality when streaming sports. So I spoke to LG and they told me that the reason is that OLED is SO good that it shows off the weakness and flaws in low quality 720p content. I’m confused. Why is OLED recommended for sports when most sports content is 720p (in Europe at least).
Thanks for these great episodes!
Thank you Caleb even though I am watching this several months late this is very helpful.
Very helpful info 👍
I believe dejudder is for 24 and 30 fps content so it still applies to sports. Deblur is for 60fps content.
I feel like this is a lot of adjusting for a novice tv buyer. On most tv's I find standard is prefered for sports viewing. The majority of folks don't want their sports looking like a movie/cinema, and that's why imo Standard suits most tastes. It's generally not too cool like Dynamic or Vivid, but it's not warm like movie, cinema or theatre mode. Adjust from standard because it's going to start out with more brightness, some motion enabled & a punchier image. Just my 2 cents.
I don't use any crappy pre-canned picture modes on my Sony 4k. I set the picture up to look its best and I stick with these settings for everything with the possible exception of an occasional brightness tweak.
I ordered the 75” hisense U8H and itll be here next weekend. I cant wait to get it up and running! Itll be a huge improvement from my 1080p 40 inch
good advice - thx
I can smell that X95L review around the corner.
Never like sports mode on tvs it looks artificial to me. I prefer to adjust picture settings to what I like.
Good content.
Now we need a best tv settings for console gaming. 🍻
Caleb, QM8 full review please!
Any recommendations for over air antenna. There is like a 2 min delay on cable/streaming vs over air. NBA Finals looked too fuzzy over air. Any suggestions.
Updated my Panasonic 7 year old tv buy an oled they said very disappointed with the quality of sports as compared to my old led screen, lots of ghosting and blurring when the action is fast , fine when watching a movie, but wouldn’t recommend it for watching sports, you shouldn’t have to to spend time messing around with settings to try to get a good picture, especially when you have spent heaps of $$$$ on it , sometimes technology tries to hard. Just my opinion.
Color temperature should be always cool for pure twinkling white for instance white shirt
What would you recommend for mainly racing and hockey on the lg c3?
Hey Caleb, I'm looking for a moderately priced TV to put outside on my patio for the upcoming football season. Any recommendations?
Hisense U8K is the beast! Bang!
Need settings for LG HDTV.
Please and thank you
Don't know if you covered this. I'm on an LG tv, and I'm trying to fix an issue where a football being thrown across the screen looks blurry and kinda stutters. Any tips?
Yeah just mess around with motion smoothing
Shouldn’t have to when oled is so expensive, it should be simpler.
You should talk about NextGen TV 3.0
Hello. When I'm watching football, ball is diseppearing so can you suggest something
Adjust motion smoothing
If you buy a tv that get professional calibrated . Does it do all this for you already?
I have the S95C, and for some reason, I cannot switch to Active HDR tone mapping (It says feature unavailable). Does anyone have the same issue?
Damn Caleb been lifting, bro
Gamma 2.2 or vt 1.8 for sport?
Settings for my LG G3 OLED
FILMMAKER MODE
Auto Dynamic Contrast = Medium
Smooth Gradation = Low
TruMotion = Smooth Movement
Everything else Default
Should I use the warm2 for hockey? Ice looks yellow
i never use warm2 i dont understand the love for warm2. there is clearly a tint, i like warm1 much better. idk, i watch hockey all the time and use warm1.
Someone please give me the best auto motion plus settings for samsung tv and watching live sport i dont care about soa p opera effect i just need the sports to be smooth as much as possible
Aren't sports broadcast in 60fps, not 30?
I like to have my tv settings like the best buy demo 4k tvs but with the brightest settings possible with autobrightness turned off and power savings turned off.
Not impressed with mine hope this helps someone make a better decision.
why is this an ad
Every time this TV goes into the top menu the picture suddenly looks accurate instead of bizarre and blown out. Is there a way to watch it in that mode?
Start with filmmaker mode if your tv has it, if not choose something like 'cinema', 'movie', 'isf bright/dark room' or similar. That should get you a baseline closest to that setting. Tweak from there. Usually it's best to turn all 'enhancements' off.
Ir Is 2 Replies.
This video is ridiculous it just goes through most tv settings and tells you to choose what you think is best?? What kind of calibration is that ffs?
Not very helpful for hockey.... I put my tv on movie mode as you all say it is the most accurate etc....ice looks yellow.... Then I try to make it bright but more brightness is bad....and I put sharpness to zero so my omage is ectreme blurry... And all.effects experts are saying disable them like auto plus something etc.... So i got a yellow dark blurry image for hockey...
Thats why I paid a 4k tv.....
Just bought a Samsung 4K and am disappointed in the hockey picture. Really thought I would get some help here but it didn't help!
Is there a setting for watching a redneck driving a pick truck in Kentucky?
Here are my settings

Color temperature should normally be 'Warm 2', not 'Normal'. Sounds counter-intuitive, i know. The picture may seem yellowish at first, but hold it on Warm 2 for a week and your eyes will adjust. If you then go back to Normal you will notice how blueish that actually looks. Noise reductions setting should be off if possible instead of 'low'. Film-mode should likely be on. Try color of 50 instead of 40 and see how that looks. Brightness seems to low and may be crushing shadow detail, although that depends on your viewing room. Often this should be set to 50. Sharpness should likely be lowered to 10 or 0. Also try what is looks like if de-judder is lowered to 1 or off. With your current setting you're likely getting artifacts with fast moving object in the backgound like trees seen from a moving car of helicopter blades. I don't own this Visio tv, but the settings I stated seem to be correct for almost all current televisions from all brands.
@@notsorandumusername thanks. I tried warm before but with vizio the skin tones have a red tint. That's an issue with vizio. Cool makes it have too much blue. So normal makes picture quality amazing.
I have a Vizio 50’ 505-j09 and tried these settings. So far so good. I did go with the warm setting.
Really appreciate it. I was almost getting ready to return it. Wasn’t getting a vibrant picture. More of a washed out look.
@@dicecreamman1739 great so glad it helps your picture quality. Happy streaming
Disappointed in the help for hockey.
Red green blue is not popping in hisense like sony,Onida, samsung,lg
Bit long mate
Akhil
I never play on game mode.
Samsung💪💪💪💪
Loved them for the last 13 years bit how does the u8k look better than the qn90c might I add that's $800 cheaper and does everything better.........I used to agree but not anymore
if there were best settings for sports or whatever a tv wouldn't have so many settings to choose from. That's why every human eye perceives colour or brightness differently. That why this videos is pointless, that is why you will have to think outside of the box to make a vid. That is all. Bye bye
did you check out the new Acer tvs? chwck them out!
Can we get a tcl qm8 full review already 🥲 trying to make a decision here.
