Great tones / chops as per usual ! 🤜 To your ears is it from around fair warning possible even vh2 onwards the micro pitch was used or was it possible chorus.....?
I think it’s a chorus ’cos the Eventide H3000 Ed mainly used was released in 1986 if I remember correct. The Micropitch plugin I use is basically Ed’s preset from Eventide he used quite a bit.
Euge Valovirta Unless it was wet/dry/wet chorus set up mabey which might just sound very similar! 🤷♂️ I suppose either way it was Ed and it was brilliant which is all that matters at the end of the day ...!
Hmmm... what settings would you use for an EVH 5150 III 100S EL34 100W to get that For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge sound? Can it replicate that peavey sound?
Oh that’d totally depend on the guitar & cabinet / reactive load / IR etc. used so I don’t have any specific settings ever. I just do it like this: ruclips.net/video/vCxlsdErftk/видео.html
First, I love your videos!! Thank you! I purchased the Marshal Studio Vintage 20 watt amp after seeing your demos. One question, you use a Micro Pitch for the Unlawful Carnal Knowledge sound in THU. I have THU with all the extra packs except the 60s pack. I cannot find this pedal at all. What version of THU are you using? Thanks again.
His old Plexi on 5150 & OU812 and SLO on F.U.C.K. plus a prototype of the Peavey 5150 on one song (Dreams Gone Wrong). Peavey 5150 on Balance, 5150 II on 3 and from then on the EVH brand 5150 IIIs 😉.
Hi Euge, I love your video's and am a huge EVH fan!! I used to have a 5150 II Amp with the 5150 Cab which had sheffield speakers. I loved the 5150 II but hated the Cab!! When I used a Marshall Cab it sounded amazing. I have a question, I am trying to duplicate the guitar separation from the Van Halen song Unchained. I have the guitar in the left speaker of my headset but I can't seem to duplicate the spatial distance that the record has. It's either to much in the left speaker or to distant. I've tried all different reverbs, delays, dual Amps and Cabs, Wet-Dry-Wet and I still can't get it right. Is it possible that EVH was using the Eventide to get this separation? I get that good, what I call EVH "sizzle" or "growl", when the guitar in the left speaker is close and does not have that spatial distance but once the left side pulls away I lose that "sizzle". Thanks for your help in advanced!!!

Euge Valovirta is that the one with or without the fasel inductor? I think the older ones had a different inductor before most of the ones that used the black Dunlop inductor switched to fasel. Basically the only difference now between the GCB95 and GCB95F is not the F (fasel), but rather buffer vs true bypass.
Euge Valovirta fair point. I have a GCB95F and it is an instant sell. I have an EVH95 that I enjoy quite a bit. I want something a tad different though, not instead of the EVH95, but as an alternative. Have a JP95, and hope I get on with it. If not, I'll likely put it up for sale.

I don.t know how you stand out the amps from Skydstryp from in my opinion the most underrated guitar player Mathias Jabs from the Scorpions ; that.s is an incredible lead tone he play Thank you for the videos and I wanna say that you also an incredible guitar player man !!!!!
Oh thanks man! Really glad to hear this!
my man. i did the choke and the bias mod on my 93 block letter 5150. where do you have your bias adjusted? do you know what the h value of your choke was? awesome tone man rock on bro!!
I have no idea but I ”returned” the amp back to stock just recently: ruclips.net/video/hw0HeyOm3kk/видео.html
Incredible sound and skills you have! What software program are you using on the computer to adjust the sound of the amps?
Thanks!
Don’t quite know what you mean but I dial the amps from the amps’ controls 👌.
@@EugeValovirta230V I realized you are using Cubase!
Yeah that’s my DAW of choise 👌.
Egue, please demo the new evh stealth head.....lid love to hear what you think of it and how it sounds with you playing it
Hi man, it’s in the plans so in due time 👌😎.
Indeed 👌😎
Sounds killer! Are you using your Suhr Reactive Load here? What impulse responses do you recommend for the various Van Halen sounds?
Thanks! Yes.
I use the one I used here (my signature IR from Jens Bogren) on everything so that 😎👌.
Wiked vid Euge !! 💪💪💪
Thanks man!
Hmmm... what settings would you use for an EVH 5150 III 100S EL34 100W to get that For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge sound? Can it replicate that peavey sound?
Oh that’d totally depend on the guitar & cabinet / reactive load / IR etc. used so I don’t have any specific settings ever. I just do it like this: ruclips.net/video/vCxlsdErftk/видео.html
Is that Waves E or G channel SSL EQ?
E
@@EugeValovirta230V Thanks! Awesome video, this took alot of time and we all appreciate it! Thoroughly enjoyed the tones and playing! 👍
Oh thanks man! 🙏☺️
Thanks! Glad to hear!
It’s this: overloud.com/products/bhs-sold
He used a Saldano for 5150 and ou812 , then the Peavy 5150
Thanks man!
It could be a harmonizer pretty much like on Balance: ruclips.net/video/pYv4IWte8kI/видео.html
I’ve always wondered if EVH changed the speakers in his peavey cabs, those speakers were horrible
Nice tone friend🙃
R&R🙃
😎🤟
Can you make a video how to sound RATT And WASP.
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll add to my to do - list.
@@EugeValovirta230V one more uncle Euge.
Can You Make A Video How To Get This Tones Via Softube Plugins (Amps)
Like Making A Different Series So That Bedroom Musicians Like Us Get An Idea To Craft These Legendary Tones.
We Don't Have Access To Tube Amps 😂
I’ve done several videos about the Softube - plugins so please check my Softube - playlist. I think they’re as close as you can get so same rules apply ’cos they really do behave pretty much the same like real amps. I have no idea how they’ve done it but they have 😎.
dude, you sound great. i got 5150mk2 but sounds fizzy. perhaps i have to up the vol a bit more. i usually play volume 3 (or 4 max). what volume do you usually play on? and what do you suggest for tube replacement (both power and preamp tubes).
can you also please share your settings for 6150+. I can't see it clearly. thanks
Thanks!
I borrowed those 6505 amps from a local music store and have returned the amps to them so I have no idea anymore what my settings were 😎. Sorry! But you should be able to see them on computer screen I think. That’s what I do when someone asks what I had but now I’m outside enjoying the day so can’t check 😊.
I have JJ ECC83 S preamp tubes on most of my amps and powertubes from JJ, Svetlana, Tung-Sol & TAD and they all do the job 👌.
Why are you adding a boss eq pedal in the effects loop of the Marshall pedal? You mentioned the evh would add external eq in the mixing console board.
I explained this as simply as I could in the video so you might want to watch it again 😎.
No Marshall pedals were used in the video but amps 😉.
@@EugeValovirta230V The boss EQ pedal in the marshall amps effects loop I mean. I have heard that Dave Mustaine Megadeath and John Sykes whitesnake use EQ pedals in the marshall plexi effects loops. But I haven't heard of EVH using a boss EQ pedal in the plexi effects loop. It does give you more of that EVH tone I am agreeing with you that it does the job. I didn't know you got the new EVH relic version guitar. Did you get the new EVH eventide pedal that EVH eventide rackmount detuner chorus sound? The new EVH eventide pedal gets that detune chorus tones on those later Van halen albums 1984 he used it. I'm not sure if he used an EQ pedal in the effects loop but he might have
@@EugeValovirta230V do a EVH video lesson on EVH "sweeten tunings" look up sweeten tunings because EVH used them which is different than standard tuning. He used sweeten tunings on all the early Van Halen albums
I bought a 6505 because of you...I already have an 800...if I didn't, I would have bought one as well...
My wife is kinda mad.....
Tell her it’s my fault 😁.
Very cool, great job! Thanks
Thanks Adam!
@@EugeValovirta230V You know all the amps sounded really good in their own way. The guitar volume cleanup thing from the Marshall with the power amp clipping is a thing of beauty though.
They do indeed. Yeah no other amp quite does what you’re able to do with a Plexi. The title ”Sound Of Rock” is deserved for a reason 👌💪.
No one plays Hot 4 teacher as well as u do. Satchel comes close...but no cigar. Thanx mate.
Oh I don’t know about that but thanks man! Really glad to hear! 🙏🎸
Deraps plays it better than both of them
That Iridium sure matched the 5150s! I just dont know if it can be as loud as a 5150.
Indeed! It’s actually a bit louder than my block letter and as loud as my 800s. I mean it’s a 100w tube amp 💪😎.
@@EugeValovirta230V If it's as loud as an 800, that's just pure insanity!
Naah, just a loud 100 watt tube amp 💪😎.
@@EugeValovirta230V When I had my first 800 half stack and cranked it up while my mom was visiting the neighbors across the street, she came running home yelling that their house was rumbling. This was from one solid brick house to another solid brick house about 200ft apart!
I hear ya. Similar ”accidents” has happened to me too. Several times 😁.
EVH 5150 4 EVER🤘🎸🔥
👌🎸🙏
Euge, what kind of amp switcher are you using? I didn't quite understand what you said in the video.
KHE: ruclips.net/video/-_WpuZW22D4/видео.html
did you put the ISP noise gate in the FX loop of the plexi amp? and normally where do you put it: before or after the overdrive pedal with which you boost the amp?
Nope. Always after the od pedal just to get rid of the hiss 👌😎.
Awesome video! :D
Thanks man! Glad to hear!
Really Great bro!!!!
Thanks C!
You are wellcome E!!!!
Which amp were you playing in the beginning? And how were you running the amp to get that tone? Sounds great.
The 1987x Plexi and everything on 10 except the loudness 1 on 8 and loudness 2 wasn’t jumped and it was on 0 ’cos it actually bleeds in a bit when you crank it even if it’s not jumped with a cable.
Thanks!
@@EugeValovirta230V Fantastic Euge! Thanks.
@@EugeValovirta230V Are you using IR or cab?
I guess you haven’t watched the video 😉.
Suhr Reactive Load with IR.
@@EugeValovirta230V Great video!

A few 😎.
Great video thanks
Thanks!
If you haven't already ,you should check out the Tone Talk channel, they have a lot of info about Eddie's tone. Watch the first interview(there are 2) with Mike Soldano , the interview with James Brown(Peavey engineer that helped design the 5150}, especially their show dedicated to Eddie Van Halen.
It’s a great channel indeed and I’ve watched the James Brown episode a few times 😊.
so good !!

Il MARSHALL Plexy é il miglior amplificatore di Tutti!!!!!!......HAIL DI'AUL 😈❤️
😎👌
Euge, what wah is that? Eddie's signature Crybaby?
Old Dunlop Jimi Hendrix CryBaby I’ve had since 90s 😎🙏.
I have no idea. It does the job and that’s all I care 😎👌.
I have the JP on my current live board and it’s great just right out of the box. Didn’t mess with any of the internal controls 👌😎. I also have the Fulltone Clyde Deluxe which I used on a few songs on my forthcoming solo album but mainly I use the Hendrix one.
