    thanks for doing these videos they are really helpful

    Just used this on my -Antonio Banderas- , umm _Zorro._ With only 4 switches, (Arm 2p, AutoTune 2p, Flight mode 3p, and GPS mode 3p) I was out out of switches on the little guy! But after watching your AutoLaunch video, I was in need of a new toggle! Originally, I tried to use the weird roll-y detent-less wheels on the radio (what are these for?!), but I decided I'm not going to be a savage, and find a better way to let the robots take over.
    Since Antonio has 2 momentaries on his back, like your Ethos, I put my sticky on the right side of his back (this got weird). Thank you, Big D.

    Awesome tutorial Darren. Tried this last year and couldn't get it to work properly. Seems there is a fine line of flipping the switch to fast or too slow. Too fast and it wouldn't switch to the up position, would just fall back to the down position. All is working well now. 🍻

      I don’t believe there are any special functions to switch off the screen. The throttle cut detection is simple, as that is built in to ETHOS. I believe it’s in the system list.

    Hello Mr D, thank you for the videos. I just got my first OpenTX radio, FrSKY X20RS. Would like to know if this setup can be used for Trainer mode, i.e. flick once = handover to Trainee(slave) and flick again, back to Master control. If yes, how do we assign it to trainer mode? Thank you.

    Thank you for doing this Darren. Your videos are of great help in learning Ethos. Am I correct to say that you cannot have this switch play two different sound tracks, for example "ignition armed" and "ignition disarmed" for the two positions?

    • @MrD
      @MrD  2 года назад +2

      Thank you Karsten.
      Sure you can have 2 different sound files for that switch. First, make a special function for the "on" sound file. You would set the active condition to be the sticky logical switch. So when the sticky is active, the sound plays. Next, duplicate that special function. Where the sticky's logical switch is; long press the enter button. Then select "invert". Then choose the "off" sound file. You'll then have sounds for both the on and off positions of that momentary switch.

    Darren could you have it doing multiple functions doing long and short presses ?

    • @MrD
      @MrD  2 года назад

      Sure Brian. You could set up edge logical switches that will trigger with different timings. For example one with 0 to 0.5 seconds for clicks. Then another that is immediately triggered after 0.5 seconds (I believe the immediate trigger is called “rising edge”; but I’m not at a transmitter to confirm). Then use those logical switches to activate and deactivate the stickys.
      I don’t mean to be picky. But, I’m not keen on Daz. D or Darren is fine though 👍🏻

    by the way, do you know how to substitute the third position of a 3-position switch by the state of the momentary button transformed into a 2-position switch? on an SR8 receiver , the management of the gyroscopes (no gyroscope, gyros activated, panic mode) is carried out by a 3-position switch, but in panic mode, it is panic; it is sometimes difficult to activate the panic mode (you have to find the right switch, the right position, etc.) the button on the back of the transmitter is the best device for activating the panic mode without having to think , but you must be able to assign this button as the 3rd position (and priority) of the 3-position switch.
    well it's not easy to explain, I hope you understand the gist of it

    Hello Darren, how would you trigger to play two different files, one for each state condition? I am using this to trigger throtle cut and would like to play a sound for throttle cut on and throttle cut off. I am totally new to the FrSky ETHOS ecosystem and your videos have been my tutor.

    • @MrD
      @MrD  2 года назад

      Hi Enrique. Yes, that is fine. You just need to create a couple of special functions to play the sounds for the throttle cut. If you're using ETHOS' throttle cut function, it's even easier. Create a new special function with the action "Play Track". For the Active Condition use System Event for the Category, and Throttle cut for the action. Next assign the sound file and don't forget to set the state to Enable. So now, when you activate the throttle cut, the track will play. Now make a copy of that special function and edit it. Long press on the Active Condition and select "Invert". Then change the sound to the throttle cut off sound. Then both sides of the switch will work.

    I'm thinking I could use this switch as my rescue (oh crap switch) being that this is a reflex action, I won't have to mindfully flip it back, just let go and I can resume control of the heli after it pulls out of me crashing the aircraft

    • @MrD
      @MrD  Год назад +1

      Not in the example I use. That will latch until you press the button again. To use it as an "oh crap" switch, you just need to set up a mixer to output the needed value when you hold in the momentary switch.

    Is there a way to use a long switch hold to disable the throttle cut. I would like a quick tap of SH to enable throttle cut (turn off the throttle) but want to have to hold SH for a second or two to disable throttle cut. Prevent inadvertent enabling of a motor. Do I have to create a mix with a delay and then use that mix as the trigger off condition? I haven't been able to figure out a combination that works.

    • @smdub
      @smdub 2 года назад +1

      I figured this out (typing out the problem above helped me think it through). I created another logic sw called 'SH Hold'. Thats a 'sticky' w/ trigger on=SH(down), trigger off=SH(up). Delay before active = 2.0s. So now when I hold SH for >2S the 'SH Hold' logic sw goes active. Goes inactive the instant I release. Then I went back into the throttle kill like you programmed in this video and changed my trigger off=SH Hold. Works like a charm.

    • @MrD
      @MrD  2 года назад

      Awesome Stephen. Glad you got it figured out.

    • @smdub
      @smdub 2 года назад +1

      @@MrD Since it doesn't appear that I can default a logic swith to active at turn on (or loading a new model), I actually inverted the logic and converted this to 'throttle arm'. That way when I load a model the motor is safely disarmed by default. I use !throttle_arm in the throttle channel for cut.
