    Great tutorial. I've been watching tons of videos trying to choose a transmitter and I keep coming back to the X20S-blue. It looks like such a beauty. It's probably good that no one has them in stock or I would be much poorer by now.

      They do feel great in the hands to 🤣 With each new update to ETHOS they keep getting better too. A nice thing I found the other day. If you’re plugged in to your computer, like to use an RC simulator. The transmitter will charge at the same time.
      I’d always recommend getting one in your hands if you can, no matter which transmitters you’re thinking of getting. Make sure they feel comfortable to you. We all have different physicalities after all.

    When I set up flaps I put them on 2 different channels and then assigned a 3 position switch. I put the switch in the first position with the servo arm off. I put the servo arm on with the switch in the first position so it would only move down when I went in the other 2 positions. This seems to work for standard flaps.

How do I get my flaps to go in the same direction? It works for my ailerons but obviously not for my flaps. I will watch the video again, but any help would be appreciated. Also, I can't flip or install the servo any other way without doing some modification.

    • @MrD
      @MrD 2 года назад

      Hi Tomas. It depends on the servos on the plane. If they are facing the same direction (not mirrored), they should be ok with a Y lead. If not, you would need to either wire the flaps separately, use a servo reverser on one of the flaps, or open up one of the flap servos and swap some wires. I've not done the last one myself. I usually use separate connections for all 4 wing control surfaces.

    I am configuring a Tandem X20 (Ethos) with an SR10 Pro for a P-51 Mustang. The aircraft has inner gear doors for the main retracts. When the gear is lowered the doors open first, the main gear extends and the doors close. When the gear is retracted the doors open the gear comes up and the doors close. Maybe drop me an email (via my web site) or join my Discord server (I'll put the link in the video description), and we can look further. • @MrD
      @MrD 2 года назад

      It looks like that mixer doesn't have the slow up or down. I would just use a Free Mix, set the source to the flaps and the output channel to the Elevator. If you set the up and down weight to 10%, it will be the same as the default for the Flap => Ele mix.
      I'll add a request to get slow added to Flap => Ele.

    • @EnriqueIvanHoward
      @EnriqueIvanHoward 2 года назад +1

      @@MrD Thanks. In the Flap => Ele mix I set source to flaps and it slowed down the elevator. I had a 3 point curve to set values for the elevator compensation triggered by the same switch as the flaps but when I selected the Flap as trigger source, the three point curve would not work. I changed it to a two point curve, that I think is doing the same , as if I change the curve for the weight option you describe. It would be easier if they include the delay option in the mix.

    • @MrD
      @MrD 2 года назад

      Yes it would definitely be easier if the speed was included in the mix. I don’t know why the curve would stop working. You would definitely want to have different movement for the different stages of the flap compensation.

    Man, Ethos looks pretty nice. It’s clearly the same OpenTX interface, but just spending a few minutes making it “pretty” seems to make a world of difference. Plus a touch-screen that actually looks responsive (ever tried an iX12? *gah*)…

    • @MrD
      @MrD 3 года назад

      It’s not quite the same. The main coder is the same guy who wrote OpenTX, so there are a lot of similarities. But also quite a few differences. Someone used to OpenTX would be caught out by a couple of things if they tried to do everything the same. But it would also be familiar enough to catch on pretty quickly. For new pilots, it is more friendly.
      The touch screen is nice. Probably better than it looks on the video, due to the angle I have the transmitter to record. I can’t see where I’m supposed to be touching so well. They keyboard part is awesome too. I’ve not tried an IX 12, but by that reaction I guess I wouldn’t want to 🤣

      The mix its self shouldn’t be a problem. The only times you may end up with issues is if you are using a self levelling mode.
