- Very rough g35 we primered a few spots with some 2k high build primer , wet sanded everything with 500 grit , gave the whole car a nice "coat and a half" with speedokote bright white high gloss single stage turned out nice ! Very easy to spray for those diy people .
Enjoy your videos. I've been using some speedokote products because of you. The 2k primer/sealer is awesome. Builds great and sands just as well. I saw a video recently where you mentioned people calling you a hack...you were spraying some bumper covers for a car lot. They turned out awesome. Anyone that says stupid stuff... I would like to see their work or perhaps their youtube channel as well. They probably want happen though. Screw em keep up the good work!

I will be painting my 1968 fierbird with Speedokote acrylic urethane it could be a show car but it will be in garage most of the time I have restored the car completely don't need a 6,000.00 dollar paint job..
@@gibsonexplorer8777 if you want more show quality do a few coats of paint, let dry for a week. Block it down with 500-800 grit. Do 2 more final coats

White gloss awesome on my project! with gloss black accents. Ordered on the 11th., received on the 21st. New Mexico. Slow but worth.the wait. Bus I painted in my back yard went from.... ugh to... HOLY @#$% !
set at 20 psi. Cheap gravity Husky (Lowes) gun... 5-gallon air compressor. yes I had to wait often, but took me 30 minutes longer than it would have if I had had a larger compressor. Only way to go! thanks Speedokote!

Hey bro did you do your whole car with a 5 gallon compressor? how long did you wait between coats? I wanna get a compressor to paint my car as ive just been using spray cans but cant afford a 60 gallon and thought 30 gallons wouldn't be enough to paint
Absolutely not my current compressor is 21 gallon which gets the job done

Can you use speedokote clear over this single stage? If so can it be sprayed after the last single stage coat flashes? Or does it have to be dry, sanded , then sprayed?

Thanks for the video. Quick question, I just finished painting my truck. In one spot I had to use a different color primer (mistake) and now it kinda looks patchy in that area. It’s a white truck and I used all white primer except in that area which was grey primer. How can I fix that spot? It’s only like a 4 inch oval shape. White single stage paint.

Would a 1.4mm tip be better for single stage than a 1.3 ?

What's the secret to no tiger stripes here in Texas medium reducer on a full car it's hard to keep a wet line to get rid of the stripes on the summer like now normal slow or even tamco has a ultra slow it's fucking hot
Oh yea bro if its super super hot you want x slow reducers and activators we sell them.. Pay close attention in the video when I start spraying the trunk, notice my "cross hatch" pattern , thats the best way to get rid of them,
Does the primer you used work well for larger Bondo areas about 2 ft? I have a 92 Acura Integra that I've been restoring as a flip car and I was wondering if I could get by with the primer used in the video or if I should get the high Build primer. Cars originally white and I'm going to purchase the bright white that you used in this video.

hey man, i was curious on how you sealed the paint in when after you applied the white, or is the paint already a mixture of sealer and the actual color?
No primer sealer, just painted right over the old paint. Probably not the best idea but honestly the car didn't come out to bad

No problem. Primer is not always needed to be honest. If the paint is smooth and sanded with 500 grit it is optional
Do you think you could mix this with a black paint for a gray color without messing the quality of the paint? Looking to paint my car sort of a nardo gray...
Yea ! We are possibly actually in the process of trying to manufacture this for people . but until we do I would mix it 2 parts white 1 part black.. Mabey 1 to 1 depending on what shade grey you want

Combination of both, I layer it on pretty wet, but it also is a pretty good covering paint

Yea bud only did 1.5 coats over whole car. Sprayed panle down wet pulled the gun back and immediately sprayed another lighter coat.
What's the pressure on your gun?
I had it set at 35 , single stage u wana spray between 33-38 psi for good atomization from my experience
33 to 38 wow that's high u need a good gun to keep a good pattern them cheap guns after 29 the fans starts to open and gives dry spots
Yea true man. My iwata does fine at 35-38 with single stage .... This is where it simply pays off better to have a nice gun

Pay close attention to the video and you will see me use the "coat and a half method" its basically one full wet coat, then you go back over it right away with one medium-light coat .. Stuff covers very very well. And rustoleum jobs obviously will never last as long as automotive paint, if I was to guess mabey 2-4 years

Yea i used the production glamor clear from speedokote , its an ok method to paint a car , personally at this point id rather just spray real automotive paint

More air pressure , spray it medium wet , Mabey try adding slow reducer to it to help it flow out a little better . Practice on test panles
Ya that’s what I been doing but looks like I’m going to use up a whole gallon just to get it down I think it’s maybe to hot here it’s like 90 in my Garage you think a slow Reducer would help?

Was going to do a Rust-Oleum job but you changed my mind.
The amount of wet sanding you have to do to get a rustoleum paint job to come out good is simply not worth it . just pay the extra 40-50$ and get automotive single stage if you wana go cheaper route !

It comes pre reduced ready to spray. Deffinatly on the thin side but to be honest I like it alot. It lays like glass really good stuff
What kind of temperature you spraying in? I got my paint in and had them send me another batch because it was to thin it just ran right down the panel
@@gabemcintosh4055 it comes pre reduced, gota play with it and figure how to spray it right. I normally always use fast activator with this product so I can lay it on slightly wetter without geting runs. I also would not spray this product in anything below 55-60 degrees.

You can just buy our bright white basecoat which is also around 100$ and just do normal basecoat clearcoat

What would be the pros/cons if I did reduce it by 5% like the site says?
Might lay out a little flatter. But from my experience un-reduced , it sprayed really good

This is experimental ... But you could probably mix in some of our "bright white" basecoat in ... So 4 parts paint, 1 part hardner, 1 part white base coat ... The white basecoat obviously comes out with no gloss . so throwing a tiny bit of this in might help reduce gloss ... But once again never done this but I'm sure it might work, always test spray before shooting a car buddy

I’ve convinced my wife to do a single coat paint job on her 53’ Plymouth Belvedere. Is there a color spectrum to choose from with Speedcokote or do you just add color to the white? Also, I’ve painted with single coat before, what’s your trick to keep orange peel to a minimum? Thanks and awesome job on your videos 👍
Speedokote only sells tints, toners, industrial color basecoat and industrial color single stages.

We do have a pearl section. You can spray the car black, mix our powdered pearls in with your clear and get a pretty cool effect! Iv done this in previous video. Bmw pearl paint job

Thanks man.. I believe this stuff comes pre reduced which takes a lot of guess work out of mixing single stage just right ... There is an art to geting single stage to lay out flat and smooth and the right amount of reducer and spray method is key.
@@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937 I have that same gloss white kit here but haven't used it yet. I believe the ad said you can reduce it up to 10% but I'd have to go back and re-read to make sure. I'll play around with it on the bottom of the hood or something before spraying something important. Thanks again.

Personally because I had the fluid needle turned out 5-6 turns, and was doing a "coat and a half" method to get full coverage in one coat, i used about half- 3/4 of a gallon to cover the car... Its acrylic urethane so you want to lay it down wet to minimize Orange peel

I think on this car no jams I used about 3 quarts just to do one wet full coverage coat.

@@nicT9 I can promise you speedokote is one of the least greedy companies out there. They are a manufacturer direct company and there is minimal mark up from the factory to your door. They might make 20-40 bucks on any given paint it. When the price of raw materials goes up a company is forced to increase there prices to maintain a baseline profit margin.

Great video.im about to paint my g35 coupe with a single stage paint its blue gray metallic im kinda worried about it but after watching ya vid im at some what ease.
This makes me happy to hear... Just scuff the edges good, apply adhesion promoter around the edges as well , slightly undertape and apply the paint even, and medium wet
