    Wow. You have way more patience than I lol. I'd cut it and install a new connector . Your perseverance paid off

    That's why I only like older trucks... I did a complete rewire using a Painless wire harness for my 1972 F-250 and tween me and my Bud we did the whole replacement job in less than 3 hous and 2 12 packs :) OH! It's also the same harness for my 1971 Galaxie500 2 door!
    The next job, after I paint my 04' Crown Vick LX Sport, is the 2000 7.3 complete motor harness replacement, including injector/glow plug/ valve covers.... doing it cuz she;s gotten old and britttle wires and 4 bad glow plugs... So while I'm in there might as well do it all!

Right :) Benge watching your videos... I'm not sure if you can help me, but if you can, thank you!
    I have a 2011 F150 5.0 4x4, and it started randomly just shutting off also random no crank. I do have the mileage show up on the dash info, and I do have the gear shift indicator light up red in the park. I checked the connections on the kick pannel on the passenger foot kick pannel, I do hear something like a relay clicking when I try and start also I checked the harness connection going to computer under the hood,I replaced Key fob with new one, I replaced immobilizer ring and ignition switch, all my fuses look good, I also got the alternator tested at autozone and they said it's good also I know the starter is good because I jumped it from the bottom also I jumped the 2nd relay from the passenger side and the engine cranks but won't fire,
    Truck will randomly start and run but will randomly die out and several messages like service advance track trailer module fault appear on the dash, but no check engine light, I can fiddle with power cable in the fuse box and almost seems like thats the issue..but it isnt, I cant 100% duplicate the getting truck to fire after fiddling in the fuse box
    Any ideas or pointers? I really dont want to take it to a stealership lol

      Sorry I don’t have any ideas on that buddy. Sounds like it needs to go to a smaller shop that won’t charge a ton and not the dealership. When we have issues like that I have a local guy here that I use to figure out them tricky ones. Good luck with it and I hope you figure it out

      @ThePaintPaperHustle Hey thank you and no problem!
      I figured it was either a computer or wiring harness issue, and I found your video i was seeing how easy or difficult to replace the wire harness/fuse block

      Yea I agree that it’s probably one of them would be my guess. Let me know what it ends up being.

    Does the wiring harness have to show a certain number or letter code for it to match the computer and sensor that are un my truck cab.

      @ThePaintPaperHustle  Месяц назад +1

      I’m not 100% sure we try and match as many as we can and normally want the main numbers to match. I can’t describe it good through a comment sorry

    Is there a more efficient way to do this like cutting the harnesses at the fuse box and then splicing the wires together?

    • @ThePaintPaperHustle
      @ThePaintPaperHustle  Год назад

      I personally wouldn’t cut the wires. Taking the whole thing out honestly wasn’t that bad.

      @@ThePaintPaperHustlemy mechanic wants $2500 to do the job you did. I probably will not be able to get to everything with the tools and expertise I don't have. It seems more time consuming doing it the way I suggested, but I have the time and I don't have the tools, expertise or money to be doing it the way you did. I appreciate your advice, other than time, is there any reason not to do it the way I suggested? I was planning on using butt connectors, and I know it's going to take many hours, what do you think? I'm just kinda lost on the idea of taking apart my dash to replace a fusebox that should have plugs instead of everything hardwired to a harness! I want to punch the engineer too!!

    • @ThePaintPaperHustle
      @ThePaintPaperHustle  Год назад

      I’d you cut the wires you could end up with loose connections in the future causing electrical nightmares. Also some wires are the same colors and you’d have a hard time making sure you get the correct ones together. In a video before this one we tried cutting and splicing the harness and it ended with loose connections and codes on the dash. Turned into a nightmare so I swapped the harness. I didn’t use any special tools to do this. A basic mechanic tool set would have everything you need.

      @@ThePaintPaperHustlethanks for the advice, only last thing I have to ask before I do this...my model is a 2010 f150 xlt 4x4 4.6L motor. Ideally I would take the harness off the identical vehicle, did you do the same or is it possible to take this off a 5.4L model and make it work?

    • @ThePaintPaperHustle
      @ThePaintPaperHustle  Год назад

      You need the harness from the same vehicle. This is a 2wd 5.0
